Hi Simon great video! Some excellent stuff there! Shame about the Arise Pic Disc but it will look great on the wall!!! Didn't know Orgasmatron was on the Pic Disc but I do have Under Siege on 12 Inch and Orgasmatron is on the B Side with Troops Of Doom!!! Also never got Bestial Devastation as it's own release but I do have the re release of Morbid Visions with Bestial Devastation as Bonus tracks on vinyl not as good as the OG but it will do fine for me!!!! Also will have to check my copy of Reign In Blood!!! Congrats on the Persecution Mania awesome Sodom LP!!!! Cheers!!!! Pete.
As they say… “all killer… no filler” here Simon. Absolutely made up for you mate… some incredible additions to your already incredible collection there🤘🏻
Yep I saw the Cavalera boys in Sydney! Great to see formerly rare live songs like Necromancer. I would have personally left the Chaos AD medley off and put in some BTR/Arise stuff.
Congrats on 'Persecution Mania'! That's a beautiful copy...I have the '88 US pressing with the standard Steamhammer center labels (blue on one side, green / tan on the other) instead of the Sodom logo. Such a great album; I put mine on last night after watching this...\m/
Arise is basically death thrash, especially the vocals with the accent, sounds similar to death metal. I heard it for the first time in jr high art class on a boombox, saw that video soon after and I was sold.
Wow, killer pick ups for classic albums. I remember buying Arise when it first came out, i ad already wore out my copy of BTRemains, another solid Sepultura album, I also have Chaos and like you, I stopped there….Unitl I bought Kairos, it’s a solid album as well, stoked to see those, cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
So it would appear my copy of RiB is also a Karen R! who knew?! that was a fun 2 minutes of Discogs updating.. haha. Took me a while to find an affordable Eternal Nightmare and my cover isn't in much better shape than yours, but it did it's job of protecting the record as it does sound fantastic. Awesome to grab a grail at a great price especially after that horror story. Some great finds in here Simon.
Nice haul sir! I´m in the lucky situation right now to get really good deals for OGs that are missing in the collection. I mostly do trades. I had "Persecution Mania" on black, white and the white lable testpress. I sold the white one for an ok priceyears ago and the testpress got to Japan for.... I can´t tell you here but it was almost a small used car worth of money. Good luck in the future, finding some grails!
Hi Simon!!! As always quality over quantity...... and glad to see you finally got that "grail" you got screwed by that "seller" good deeds happens to "nice" lads!!! Cool Sepiltura picture disc, sure it will fine framed in your wall of fame. Congrats on that Sodom pressing too. cheers and be well
Eternal Nightmare is one of the biggest thrash grails I'm still after, and you're casually not calling it a grail. Fantastic catch on Persecution Mania man, also on my list but not as high as Eternal Nightmare! I'm happy with the first Sodom, haha.
I sometimes get shit from old guys that records are too expensive and Discogs is garbage (like that is my problem). I don't know it any other way than that the old stuff is expensive and hard to get. A lot of older guys are not willing to pay the prices like I do, just because they're from a time where those albums weren't that expensive, and refuse to pay the inflated prices. So long story short, I get it, hahaha. I am willing to pay a good amount for Eternal Nightmare!
@mercyfulmetal7324 in this instance I mean cry at how LITTLE it cost me! All these were between half discogs median to a quarter of discogs median. I did well
Brilliant finds Simon!! It's funny seeing people going nuts for these records as back in the day these were ten a penny! I have all these records as OG vinyl as being an old bugger I was a teen in the 80's! I think my collection could be worth a little bit now!! I would never sell them though!! 😂 EDIT: My copy of Eternal NIghtmare is a special sick pack with canned soup in a plastic sleeve!! Long now evaporated!! 🤣😂
I have 4 copies left of the original Arise picture disc. I had 8 copies but gave some away as presents they have an $11 price tag on them, Beneath the remains will always be my favorite because that's when I discovered them.
"I own far worse than this and so do you" I burst out laughing there 😂. Nice finds. I'm still after the Seps ogs but they are usually overpriced. Eternal Nightmare never had that inner sleeve over here. Plain white only. Never seen that inner before.
@ExplosiveAction Yeah it came out on MCA over hear. Everything on that label was low no frills. Voivod Nothingface was another one plain white inners. They still go for top whack too
@@metalmickey I'm really pretty happy when I look at my four crates of OGs now and go.. man, there really isn't many (known) high priority titles left. I have a cart on discogs of "good but not essential" stuff and am yet to feel compelled to pull the trigger. But please for god sake somebody sell me Think This lol.
@ExplosiveAction Yeah that's on my list. Brendan got one a few months ago. Death Power - The Bogeyman (1990). Oh man that went right on my list when I tried it.
What is your process for cleaning your LPs? What solution do you use? I see so much conflicting information on that here on youtube, I wouldn’t mind an answer from someone who actually listens to them lol
If you look at the video I did on "audiphile" habits (search it) I give a demonstration. Short version is a I use a locally produced spray called Wax Wash, the two excellent microfibre cloths from the otherwise shit Spinclean device (one cloth to wet, one to dry), put the record on a towel, protect the centre label by placing an old yoghurt container over it, spray, wipe, then dry. That's it!
Why do you think the spin clean is shit? Seems to remove lots of crap i thought. I sold Arise LP, Deicide 1st and sone others in the 90s....thought I needed the money. Damn
'Results may vary' I like to decant the sump in to a clear glass to marvel at the amount of gunk swirling around. A simple pleasure lost on CD owners. They really have no idea what they are missing out on.
i thought you already had Vio-lence and Slayer those are essential Sodom Persicution mania very Expensive it definitely needs a Box set with 2 versions of the lp.
I’d buy that Vio-Lence if it was instrumental. Shame you’re too much of a youngun to have seen Sepultura on the Arise tour as they were amazing. Chaos AD tour was fab too [/oldgeezertales]
Thanks for sharing! I really haven't liked anything much after Roots (and I no longer own that, it was fine when I was 16 but hasn't held up). I like a few tracks from a couple of their very last albums that I saw videos of but really all that stuff in the middle was pretty poor.

Haha! Yeah will definitely be listening to the Mephitic promo.
Arise is basically death thrash, especially the vocals with the accent, sounds similar to death metal. I heard it for the first time in jr high art class on a boombox, saw that video soon after and I was sold.
Its ridiculously good!
It's actually Death Thrash / Thrash not Death/ Death Thrash. It's important to get the genre definition correct with the emphasis correct.

I'm kinda with you on the Slayer. I do have South of Heaven and Seasons, but those two are nowhere near the level of the first three.
