The green on gold 'Summer' one, is absolutely stunning. I agree it could be the best and the look is very unique, however my vote still goes to the blue 'Autumn' one. I think the green has too much contrasting text color on it, yellow then white then maroon? Whereas the blue is slightly less clashing and overall a bit more refined looking, if that makes sense?
The winter and spring. In my opinion, the winter season looks like a more well done version of the snowflake model. Spring’s dial is unique and beautiful. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks so much for watching!@@tri7661 Can't disagree with you on the Spring, its definitely the most unique of the four models that we've seen from Grand Seiko so far.
The Shunbun one is my dream watch and definitely something I'll be getting in the near future. Before, it was the Snowflake, but after seeing that subtle pink shimmer, I fell in love.
Totally agree. I’ve been dead set for the snowflake for over a year now, enter Shunbun and I have a new dream. But since I’m living in Europe it’ll be a bit hard to get my hand on one.
Gorgeous watches. IMO, Grand Seiko has overtaken many top brands, and is now probably the strongest contender to the Datejust/OP. Much power to the person who has both the Rolex and the Grand Seiko in their collection.
Great video! The most holistic comparison video of the 4 seasons by GS that I have seen. Great job! Tough to decide between summer and winter; both perfect for very different reasons.
Kudos on a great video. For sure one of the best GS videos I've ever seen, and I reckon I've seen most. Been collecting GS since 2014 and they are really on a roll now.
Thank you Jon for watching and for your extremely kind words! It’s nice to see a brand like GS get recognition for some of the incredible things they are doing in the watch world
I gave this serious consideration but realized it would have clashed with the pink tint in the right light. I ended up going with the spring and have absolutely zero regrets.
Grissana Thanks so much for watching! The Winter version is beautiful and it’s the only one with a blued steel second hand out of this collection. This product is only sold within the USA Market & we do not ship outside of the United States overall.
thanks for the detailed video, great presentation. One thing that I find is not talked about in all reviews of these is the Boxed Sapphire crystal! To me, this with the Case is what makes it so special (and the dials). Not that many models from Grand Seiko have the boxed sapphire crystal and boy do I love that look. In the video, it looks like the Spring Drives have the boxed crystal a little more pronounced/higher versus de High Beats, can you confirm this? Is it because the HighBeats are just thicker so in order to keep the same overall thickness spec, they had to make the crystal shorter? Thanks
I am thinking of getting the green with yellow gold. Would have to trade a Panerai for it and am really close to doing it. These are seriously beautiful pieces. I challenge anyone to compare these models to the entry level Rolex oyster perpetual they just released in 41mm and tell me how nice GS really is. one thing is why in the hell does GS print logos on display case backs. Might as well use the engraved backs
Carat & Co. Watches & Jewelry i actually pulled the trigger today and got a snowflake. When compared to these models they felt too small for my wrist but snowflake size was better for me.
Good presentation on the 4 pieces of arts. GS makes very nice cases, like this 62GS. I also collect GS, a dozen of the modern ones, and a dozen of the vintage (including KS). The latest being the sbgk005, sbgy003, and, the vintage 5646 5010. The 9S63 is a better caliber than the patek small second. The 9R31, with the dual mainspring in a barrel architecture, is an improvement to the 7R14 used in eichii II. Not only the finishing, but, the decoration is just as impressive, unpretentious, free, like the night sky. Hope this latest innovation is repeated on the 9S next year. And, yes, in affordable steel. Interesting time ahead for GS fans.
Hey Canon, thanks so much for watching the video! I'm totally in love with the new SBGY003, I've been telling many people on Instagram that its like getting an Eichi II design but in stainless steel, maybe it is not as decorated with the kikyo flower as the barrel, but still very few pieces can compare to the SBGY003 at its value. I agree that it is an interesting time for GS fans and hope to see more innovations come to future GS product :) Happy to hear that you're enjoying GS's new manual winds. Always happy to chat about GS!
Hi Derek, nice chatting with a GS fan indeed. Would love to get the 9R02 with the kikyo flower when it's cased in steel. With Zaratsu, there's no need for precious metal. Cheers!
My only complaint with these watches is with the band & clasp. Pins? not screws join the links of a $6,300 watch? Also, no micro adjustment on clasp? GS needs to up their game in this department.
I live in the UK, and I have the SBGC003 spring drive chronograph, and the SBGC201 spring drive chronograph, which I bought new, through jura watches uk.
Hey Dave! Thanks for watching. To answer your question - yes both the Summer (green) and Fall (blue) have a slight reflective finish over the textured dial. The only one in these Four Seasons that has the least of that reflective finish will be in the Winter (grey) dial. Hope that helps!
@@MinuteMon hmm, thanks for replying! I feel that glazing the surface mutes the texture a bit much unfortunately. Was hoping they wouldn't have done that. It's like the difference I saw between SBGH267 (glazed) and SBGM235 (unglazed), the surface texture is much more apparent on the SBGM. Well, will have to check these out in person though!
I almost hate how I cannot decide between the spring autumn and winter, I love cherry blossoms but have to see just how pink the face is in person, the winter if wonderful, but I too also love blue dials however prefer the titanium over stainless for its scratch resistance. They did not make this easy.
I love GS. Only thing that sucks is you cant service these in America and it’s a cheap feeling dealing with Seiko service in NJ. They really need to separate the service centers as this is litterally the same thing as buying a Audi but getting service at a VW of buying an Acura but having to go to honda dealership for service...
Actually you can get Grand Seiko serviced in the USA now which is still done under Seiko Service in New Jersey. The only thing that has to be sent to Japan is the Spring Drive GMT Chronograph 9R86 and possibly some Zaratsu polishing that they cannot do here.
Carat & Co. Watches & Jewelry they all have ziratsu polishing and I wouldn’t not want anyone other than a trained person working on it. Seiko NJ is liter a burger king. No joke I wouldn’t even send them my marine master
Titanium as a material isn't that well suited for small screws compared to steel. (I could go on about the material science, but won't.) Also, pin & collar is technically a better, more secure joining technique. Although extremely rare, screws can come off with time. They're just advertised as more premium because they are harder to manufacture and they "look and feel" better to interact with. (Like many things in the watch industry ;) ) Only real world advantage is they make it easier to size the bracelet.
bengali Miah - Rolex has become so common nowadays, it’s not special anymore, even my Seiko Spring Drive SNR005 is 100 times rarer than Rolex watches. Grand Seiko and Credor are on another level higher than Rolex.
Thanks so much for watching Eugene! I purchased this Double Breasted suit from a nice store in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan called "The Suit Company". Hey @@jerrya8621! The lug width for the new Seasons collection is 21mm, we've measured it ourselves. The nice thing is that the bracelet tapers to 19mm from the case lug down to the buckle. If you're in the area, we'd be happy to show you!

i would have bought the spring version immediately only if it had the blue seconds hand like the winter.

Yes why.... .
Also bothers me. But not enough that I wouldn't buy one. It's also a unique thing to GS (I think.)

The winter dial as one Grand Seiko Owner mentioned is a bit like a smokey dial with its brushed texture. Super mesmerizing.
