Dimash's story is as incredible as his voice. Born to a famous opera singer and a pop star and music producer, he was found to have perfect pitch at a young age. He cultivated his ability, and through sheer practice and dilligence, managed to keep the high range of a miraculously talented boy, even as his body and vocal tract matured, something which I've heard can only realistically be done in exactly the way he did it. He actually came in second place in the Chinese competition "I Am a Singer" that the version of SOS you listened to is from, though it's commonly believed that that is mostly a cultural thing. The older woman you see sometimes in that video, with the golden hair, was the winner, and she's an _extremely_ famous Chinese singer. It's as if he were to come to the US and compete against Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross. It kind of doesn't matter how well you do; those kinds of mega-stars are going to win an American Idol style competition (but for professionals). They just are. The reason everybody recommends that particular version of Sinful Passion next, aside from that huge 22-second single-breath run (did you notice that's just one breath?) and, of course, the fact that the original band is on stage with him, is for the applause at the end. The man in white in the front row, with the bald head, who's the first to his feet? That's Igor Krutoy, one of the true great modern Russian (Soviet Russian, that is; he's Ukrainian) composers, then retired. Igor Krutoy holds _eight_ national honor titles equivalent to something like a knighthood in England: two from the USSR, four from the Russian Federation, one from Ukraine, and one from Kazakhstan. He owns the Russian version of MTV. I've heard it said that he might be the wealthiest musician on the planet. He is offically a Big Deal. That performance of Sinful Passion was the moment in which he discovered Dimash's perhaps once in a century or once in a millennia talent, and his incredible instrument. It inspired him to come out of retirement, to write and arrange songs specifically for Dimash, things that he'd had in his head, but never believed anyone could ever actually sing, so hadn't ever written them down. He's written three great original works specifically for Dimash's instrument. Love of Tired Swans, which has an official music video that is _amazing._ Olimpico (often mis-titled Ogni Pietra for its first lyric), which is often performed by Dimash at the opening ceremony of major Olympic-style sporting events... and Passione. Additionally, he has personally mentored Dimash, like a second father, guiding him through his Ph.D. in Musicality. So... basically, I just wanted to put this into perspective. The fact that _that man_ is sitting at a piano on stage giving fatherly looks to Dimash is _enormous._ It's basically as if you were to perform on stage and John Williams was your accompanist. Mind blown yet? Dimash _also_ composes his own original music, and produces his own music videos now. You can't but look at him to see what a beautiful soul he is, but if evidence is required, _most_ of the concerts he's ever put on were for charity. After two rounds, he was considered the front-runner and the one to beat... but then he learned he was competing against children, which he considered unfair and demoralizing to the children. So on stage, on national TV, he withdrew from the competition and scolded the producers and judges for their audacity to cast him, one of the greatest professional singers in the world, against little kids. How effing incredible is that? Had he won that, he might have jump-started his fame in America far more than he has already, but he set that aside in an act of pure honor and class.

Hi there. Thank you for sharing with us your reactions to Dimash. The more you know him the more you like him, I promise 😊 First let me tell you that I'm a rock fan, I grew up listening to Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Motorhead and son on... I found Dimash by mistake on a video with a fake presentation of him on the Voice. Caught my attention because they were not turning and although the music didn't speak to me I thought he was a good singer. I got curious and started looking at reactions and the rest is history! I've learned a lot about music, I've learned how amazing he is and the more you listen to the songs the more you like it. Dimash is now my favourite singer of all times. His repertoire is like no other, songs are all so different, you can't get bored. Almost all songs are masterpieces. Here are my recommendations. Some of the most impressive songs to react to. Olimpico, love is like a dream, sinful passion, stranger. Songs you might like to see (more rock ish) War and Piece which was written by Dimash himself, Durdaraz, Across endless dimensions, Daybreak. Daybreak is a true story of a child who lost his parents in a cable car accident, you need the captions on. Actually you should always have captions on for his songs. Songs in his language are beautiful, check Omir Oter, Samaltau and Daididau. Always (sometimes not available) chose songs from his official channel and chose the versions with more views which are usually the best performances. You can also hear Dimash's takes on songs you might know such as Queen's the show must go on on a queen medley of him with the super vocal boys, Celine Dion's all by myself and Lionel Richie's Hello. Dimash has a vocal range of more than 7 octaves. It goes from Baritone to Soprano although it must be said that in recent songs we have seen that its bass has been accentuated. It seems that it has no roof. He is a unique vocalist in the world with 23 years of music studies, a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in musicology. He dominates all the vocal techniques, he is very versatile, he sings all kinds of genres, including rap. In these times where musical trends leave a lot to be desired (for me) Dimash is a breath of fresh air. I love his voice, his music and I love the great human being that he is.
Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there

It seems so effortless because he has put in so many years of practice. He is so disciplined and still practices every day. It's amazing to hear him improve over the past 3 years, even though he was already at an unbelievably high level to begin with! He is absolutely amazing.

As a youngster, Dimash sang soprano in his youth choir. When he hit puberty, his classical voice coach guided him through without losing it , just increasing his lower ranges!

The most known 'Ave Maria' is the Schubert. Dimash asked Igor Krutoy (on piano) to compose this just for him. Dimash uses only the ah vowel. This is stunning. He channeled the angels. Dimash sung this at all 3 of his recent concerts. Thank you for letting us join you on your journey.
Thanks for another great reaction. Ukrainian and Russian composer, Igor Krutoy (who’s also the pianist) wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. As Igor put it: "Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements and achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and categorical statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... It just so happens that I had the evening off, and I was happy to sit down on the piano and, remembering the Italian liability formula, worked inspiredly until I achieved the desired result... After taking a few days to have the song ‘rest’ in my ears, soul and heart, I sent it to Dimash, who literally said within half an hour that that's exactly what he wanted to hear. And, of course, the reception and applause given to Dimash by the audience at New Wave showed how happy it was to do what you love, to write for such a singer who has a genius for music, to evoke deep emotions in the public and to be in demand… In fact, Igor had already semi-retired earlier, but he came out of semi-retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... but then he met Dimash. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. I'm not a vocal coach either - although have sung a lot in various choirs and acapella groups etc. - so I know a little bit of what he's doing. Just a little! I've seen professional voice coaches comment on what they believe is the extension of Dimash's head voice up into what is usually a falsetto range - but they think, although he does use falsetto too, he's not using his false vocal folds at various points due to the fullness and richness of the sound, which apparently can't be achieved in full falsetto. if that makes any sense - although with Dimash who the heck knows! Regardless, it's just stunningly beautiful. 👋👋👋😍

In recent live concerts, the outer space theme was also visually represented on stage. Dimash uses only vocalization to make this a prayer/meditation for all people, regardless of their spiritual orientation. Words often divide us, but music has the power to unite. The purity of Dimash's voice, the genius of Igor Krutoy's composition, the choir, instrumentation, and staging all combine to transport the listener to a higher plane of existence. This music was made by Russian conductor, pianist and composer Igor Krutoy especially for Dimash at his request. Dimash wanted a vocalized Hail Mary. Thus was born this heavenly, angelic and exquisite masterpiece! This version, being a vocalization, transcends borders, languages, creeds and religions! It is a universal chant for humanity! It's the language of angels!
What is really amazing is that, if you watch the video with the studio cameras that stay trained on him, he sings that whole song with his mouth OPEN. How? I do not know, but he is a beast.
Even with no words he is phenomenal!! You have mainly only listened to high octave songs... check out Olympico - composed by Igor Krutoy ( a famous Composer) specifically for Dimash for the 2nd European Olympic games in Minsk... Krutoy and Dimash started Collaborating in 2018 and Dimash is Krutoy's Muse. Igor has finally found someone that he can compose for without having to restrict himself because if he can compose it, then Dimash can sing it! If you see him play the piano in a Dimash performance, then you know that Krutoy composed it. Olympico is special in that Dimash is practically the only person who can sing it ! Dimash's story is as incredible as his voice. Born to a famous opera singer and a pop star and music producer, he was found to have perfect pitch at a young age. He cultivated his ability, and through sheer practice and dilligence, managed to keep the high range of a miraculously talented boy, even as his body and vocal tract matured, something which I've heard can only realistically be done in exactly the way he did it.
He actually came in second place in the Chinese competition "I Am a Singer" that the version of SOS you listened to is from, though it's commonly believed that that is mostly a cultural thing. The older woman you see sometimes in that video, with the golden hair, was the winner, and she's an _extremely_ famous Chinese singer. It's as if he were to come to the US and compete against Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross. It kind of doesn't matter how well you do; those kinds of mega-stars are going to win an American Idol style competition (but for professionals). They just are.
The reason everybody recommends that particular version of Sinful Passion next, aside from that huge 22-second single-breath run (did you notice that's just one breath?) and, of course, the fact that the original band is on stage with him, is for the applause at the end. The man in white in the front row, with the bald head, who's the first to his feet?
That's Igor Krutoy, one of the true great modern Russian (Soviet Russian, that is; he's Ukrainian) composers, then retired. Igor Krutoy holds _eight_ national honor titles equivalent to something like a knighthood in England: two from the USSR, four from the Russian Federation, one from Ukraine, and one from Kazakhstan. He owns the Russian version of MTV. I've heard it said that he might be the wealthiest musician on the planet. He is offically a Big Deal.
That performance of Sinful Passion was the moment in which he discovered Dimash's perhaps once in a century or once in a millennia talent, and his incredible instrument. It inspired him to come out of retirement, to write and arrange songs specifically for Dimash, things that he'd had in his head, but never believed anyone could ever actually sing, so hadn't ever written them down.
He's written three great original works specifically for Dimash's instrument. Love of Tired Swans, which has an official music video that is _amazing._ Olimpico (often mis-titled Ogni Pietra for its first lyric), which is often performed by Dimash at the opening ceremony of major Olympic-style sporting events... and Passione.
Additionally, he has personally mentored Dimash, like a second father, guiding him through his Ph.D. in Musicality.
So... basically, I just wanted to put this into perspective. The fact that _that man_ is sitting at a piano on stage giving fatherly looks to Dimash is _enormous._ It's basically as if you were to perform on stage and John Williams was your accompanist. Mind blown yet?

And, of course, he is just an amazing person overall. You can't but look at him to see what a beautiful soul he is, but if evidence is required, _most_ of the concerts he's ever put on were for charity. He _routinely_ donates all proceeds to people in need in the countries in which he holds them.

Oh, also also... one of his more incredible acts was when he came to the US to compete in CBS's "The World's Best". After two rounds, he was considered the front-runner and the one to beat... but then he learned he was competing against children, which he considered unfair and demoralizing to the children. So on stage, on national TV, he withdrew from the competition and scolded the producers and judges for their audacity to cast him, one of the greatest professional singers in the world, against little kids. How effing incredible is that? Had he won that, he might have jump-started his fame in America far more than he has already, but he set that aside in an act of pure honor and class.

First let me tell you that I'm a rock fan, I grew up listening to Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Motorhead and son on... I found Dimash by mistake on a video with a fake presentation of him on the Voice. Caught my attention because they were not turning and although the music didn't speak to me I thought he was a good singer. I got curious and started looking at reactions and the rest is history! I've learned a lot about music, I've learned how amazing he is and the more you listen to the songs the more you like it. Dimash is now my favourite singer of all times. His repertoire is like no other, songs are all so different, you can't get bored. Almost all songs are masterpieces. Here are my recommendations.

Songs you might like to see (more rock ish) War and Piece which was written by Dimash himself, Durdaraz, Across endless dimensions, Daybreak. Daybreak is a true story of a child who lost his parents in a cable car accident, you need the captions on. Actually you should always have captions on for his songs. Songs in his language are beautiful, check Omir Oter, Samaltau and Daididau. Always (sometimes not available) chose songs from his official channel and chose the versions with more views which are usually the best performances. You can also hear Dimash's takes on songs you might know such as Queen's the show must go on on a queen medley of him with the super vocal boys, Celine Dion's all by myself and Lionel Richie's Hello. Dimash has a vocal range of more than 7 octaves. It goes from Baritone to Soprano although it must be said that in recent songs we have seen that its bass has been accentuated. It seems that it has no roof. He is a unique vocalist in the world with 23 years of music studies, a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in musicology. He dominates all the vocal techniques, he is very versatile, he sings all kinds of genres, including rap. In these times where musical trends leave a lot to be desired (for me) Dimash is a breath of fresh air. I love his voice, his music and I love the great human being that he is.

It seems so effortless because he has put in so many years of practice. He is so disciplined and still practices every day. It's amazing to hear him improve over the past 3 years, even though he was already at an unbelievably high level to begin with! He is absolutely amazing.

As a youngster, Dimash sang soprano in his youth choir. When he hit puberty, his classical voice coach guided him through without losing it , just increasing his lower ranges!

The most known 'Ave Maria' is the Schubert. Dimash asked Igor Krutoy (on piano) to compose this just for him. Dimash uses only the ah vowel. This is stunning. He channeled the angels. Dimash sung this at all 3 of his recent concerts. Thank you for letting us join you on your journey.
Thanks for another great reaction. Ukrainian and Russian composer, Igor Krutoy (who’s also the pianist) wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. As Igor put it:
"Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements and achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and categorical statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... It just so happens that I had the evening off, and I was happy to sit down on the piano and, remembering the Italian liability formula, worked inspiredly until I achieved the desired result... After taking a few days to have the song ‘rest’ in my ears, soul and heart, I sent it to Dimash, who literally said within half an hour that that's exactly what he wanted to hear. And, of course, the reception and applause given to Dimash by the audience at New Wave showed how happy it was to do what you love, to write for such a singer who has a genius for music, to evoke deep emotions in the public and to be in demand…
In fact, Igor had already semi-retired earlier, but he came out of semi-retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... but then he met Dimash. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. Igor writes specially to cater to Dimash’s exceptional range, ability and technique.

I'm not a vocal coach either - although have sung a lot in various choirs and acapella groups etc. - so I know a little bit of what he's doing. Just a little! I've seen professional voice coaches comment on what they believe is the extension of Dimash's head voice up into what is usually a falsetto range - but they think, although he does use falsetto too, he's not using his false vocal folds at various points due to the fullness and richness of the sound, which apparently can't be achieved in full falsetto. if that makes any sense - although with Dimash who the heck knows! Regardless, it's just stunningly beautiful. 👋👋👋😍
The beginning and end of the piece feature instrumental imitations of the sounds from Outer Space as recorded by NASA, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. In recent live concerts, the outer space theme was also visually represented on stage. Dimash uses only vocalization to make this a prayer/meditation for all people, regardless of their spiritual orientation. Words often divide us, but music has the power to unite. The purity of Dimash's voice, the genius of Igor Krutoy's composition, the choir, instrumentation, and staging all combine to transport the listener to a higher plane of existence. The messa di voce in High C at the end is absolutely exquisite. If we could hear angels sing, this is what it would sound like.

This music was made by Russian conductor, pianist and composer Igor Krutoy especially for Dimash at his request. Dimash wanted a vocalized Hail Mary. Thus was born this heavenly, angelic and exquisite masterpiece! This version, being a vocalization, transcends borders, languages, creeds and religions! It is a universal chant for humanity! It's the language of angels!
What is really amazing is that, if you watch the video with the studio cameras that stay trained on him, he sings that whole song with his mouth OPEN. How? I do not know, but he is a beast.

His "head voice falsetto" is full-on, straight up soprano. It's rare, but a well-trained male voice with a gifted physiology can sign soprano.
Even with no words he is phenomenal!! He completely emotes and shows us exactly what we need to be feeling, and if it doesn’t get you… 🤖… 🤷♀️ someone else who feels her songs is Faouzia, she really emotes all her songs. You should check her out, whether she does a cover, a stripped version(just her and a piano) or a full on music video, the depth of her songs are amazing!!

You have mainly only listened to high octave songs... check out Olympico - composed by Igor Krutoy ( a famous Composer) specifically for Dimash for the 2nd European Olympic games in Minsk... Krutoy and Dimash started Collaborating in 2018 and Dimash is Krutoy's Muse. Igor has finally found someone that he can compose for without having to restrict himself because if he can compose it, then Dimash can sing it! If you see him play the piano in a Dimash performance, then you know that Krutoy composed it. Olympico is special in that Dimash is practically the only person who can sing it ! Look for the Olympico performance from the Arnau Concert in Nur Sultan ( It's on his UA-cam Channel) If you want to hear DImash sing pop, "Screaming Idol Hits", and the Official MV for it.... Be With Me the official MV where he does martial Arts and Raps in Kazakh! Pure Opera - Tiamo Cosi with aida Garifullina and Lara Fabian. Then there are his Chinese songs!!! and then not to forget his Kazakh songs : Samaltau, Amanat, Daididau, etc...
Your Dimash journey just started... you will always be surprised and you've only scratched the surface . I would get acquainted with how to work the Subtitles as he can and will sing in many many foreign languages!
