  • What is COSTCO like in Mexico?? Such a staple of suburban America, how different is it in Mexico? Well, it turns out there are a couple of differences but it is certainly Costco. Mexico is actually the third country with most Costcos around the world after the USA and Canada with 41 locations scattered across the nation.
    In this case, we visit one of the Costcos in Mexico City, specifically the one in Nuevo Polanco near Museo Soumaya. Let us know what you think about Costco in Mexico and what your favorite things to buy in Costco are!

    I love/hate Costco because the have really good prices/ items that you don’t really need , but because of the price you end buying it anyway

    You could possibly invest in a small upright freezer and take it with you when you move to Queretaro. I do wish they would get the Quorn brand here. It's huge in Europe and some US areas for everything plant-based. The biggest thing with Quorn is all of their products are soy, wheat, and gluten-free. Everything I find here has soy and with thyroid issues, I can't have it. Winnie is so happy. Let him keep the old one in the bedroom or on the patio? My golden used to go through beds also and they are horrible to wash. Just washing the cover they still stunk. I have seen people using baby crib mattresses and covering them with comforters or zip-up blankets. Nice to see you back.

    Looks like you guys may need to invest in one of those granny carts to carry all those items back home 🤔
    I would have liked to see the differences in Costco Mexico Food Court, I’ve heard they add different toppings to their pizza🤷🏻‍♂️
    It looks like the Costco checkout lines are not nearly as bad as the ones in the states, especially California.
    Next time I will make my make a trip out there to Polanco to see both the Sumaya and Costco since I am a member in the states and it is valid throughout Mexico.
    Thanks for the video, it gives me an idea what to expect at that particular Costco, it looks super clean and modern 👍
    Saludos a los tres ✌️

    I personally don't like Costco because I end up wasting so much of what I bought because they sell everything in such large sizes/quantities. Anyway, I remember the days when I was still a student without a car, that I would go to the grocery store about once a month, and bring everything back by cab (Uber/Lfyt now). It was so worth it.

    When I have nightmares - I am in Costco in downtown Vancouver. It is always jam packed. I almost need to wear pads to protect my calves from getting injured by "bumper buggies". I am surprised to see that Polanco store so quiet. Anyway, I can related to your Costco excitement, but remember that it is important to have a firm list before you go. Costco thrives on impulse buys - and many of the impulse items are no cheaper than grocery stores. Also, while it might seem tempting - don't buy giant spice packages unless you know you will use them in a reasonable time. Peppercorn, salt and cinnamon keep well, but other spices get stale after a while. The processed food - especially veggie options - can be massive salt bombs. Be sure to check for sodium content in the meat substitutes. I saw you walk past the Kirkland bottled pesto sauce (which I do not think is vegan). We saw that product in a tienda in Puerto Escondido for $270 pesos (no idea where the closest Costco is)! And yes, we bought it. Next time, we are bringing pesto with us from Canada . We get a lot of use out of it: pasta, bruschetta, pizza, sandwiches - its great to have (rather than making it fresh like we do at home). Next time, I would be interested in seeing the booze selection and prices (Costco does not sell alcohol here).

    • @sergtana
      @sergtana  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much for the insight! I was suspicious about the freshness of certain ingredients in such large quantities! I like the way Mexicans here tend to buy ingredients almost the day of. I didn't realize that Costco didn't sell alcohol everywhere, we certainly should've shown that!

    12:06 The old bed was fine...just a matter of pushing the stuffing back in and sowing it up. EASY FIX...
    At some point tana will want to settle down and get a big ass house and a nice enough SUV where she can do Costco runs without limitations or this walking through the mall with your items in hand bullshit...Corporate america IS HOME...when we see an American store abroad it triggers mellancholy, especially something as iconic as Costco...it really summons our desire to be in the US...it's home.

    Estoy segura que si conocieran más hacia el norte, en esa misma dirección ,pero hacia el norte , y se encontraran con colonias como la Nueva Santa Maria ,estoy segura que les gustaría. Es como la colonia del valle , pero es 10 veces más barato vivir ahi. Y esa zona tiene hasta mas historia que la del valle, inclusive que la Roma. Los pueblos y colonias de la alcaldia azcapotzalco , son bellas ,históricas, de mucho valor cultural y patrimonial. Hoy es Igual que otras alcaldías ,convergen zonas medias y populares.
    En el tema histórico, Ahí fueron las últimas batallas mexicas -españoles. La gente de ahi fue la última en resistir la conquista. Las fuentes antiguas son claras, eran hasta mas aguerridos que los propios aztecas. Los tepanecas de azcapotzalco ,eran verdaderamente terribles . Para quitarles la hegemonía, tuvieron que unirse varios pueblos. Los de Tenochtitlan , los de Texcoco y los de Tacuba. Saludos y welcome back.

      I once had the chance to see in first hand two "brilliant" women last year rummaging boxes of socks and they were asked if they needed any help and the ridiculous answer was: "don't come closer because we have someone sick at home and we don't want to risk" don't want to risk but idiocy tells different story when they multiply their chances by two to get sick/infected instead of only one going inside a store, they double that risk, brilliant human kind indeed!
