I feel you on that..trucking has allowed me to visit states that I probably wouldn't go to on my own dime. I feel like the people who say there is no money in trucking are those who don't run. Now there may be some trucking companies that pay a lot and have you home daily or weekly bu a lot of times you have to have experience and then folks want instant gratification. They don't wanna work for it in my opinion

Being too old is a state of mind. If you are in reasonably good health and can sit for long periods, can walk, stoop, and bend, then you will be fine. Never live a "what if" lifestyle. You could be a company driver for a year or two and you can scratch that off of your list and be glad that you tried it even if you find that it is not for you.

Travel is always best when you have someone to share it with.

That’s the problem with being an owner operator/ lease driver , company drivers don’t have to pay lumper fees or maintenance fee/ fuel , in the end you end up with the same net pay , just not the headaches, but god bless you for hanging there

Watch out with helping people with money. What’s yours is yours and what’s there is theirs. People are not what they say they are, by the time it’s your turn for aid they nowhere to be found.
I am not pocket watching anyone. Just as a life lesson and something to think about, sometimes a gift becomes an expectation when you do it too much. Certain people start counting on that hand out as your obligation to fill in where they refuse to help themselves. What seems like being generous now, can set you up for exploitation later when you don't come through when they think you should be there. Now the relationship is over because you feel taken advantage of. Or they say, that all that money changed you. I only help people who are actively helping themselves but just happen to be in a temporary bind. If people are without means, it is their mindset. You can't use your money to rescue them from mental laziness.
Facts 100% true I’ve been through the same thing. Making more money helping people out but they start to depend on it then you run out of money. Tough lesson but I’ll never do it again
