    The three year run for this generation of Thunderbirds, 61-63, really nailed it as the best generation in my opinion. From the epic big round taillights to the stylish front end what was not to love! The instrumentation was nicely done and unique. Truly carrying on the aviation identification, ie the jet age! Thanks Jeff.

    That awkward moment when the 60s vintage cars looks more futuristic than the modern cars...

      All the new vehicles look like something from the past. An old bath tub flipped over with the claw feet knocked off... SAD

    I used to have a T-bird like this, but in black, in Westport, CT in 1982. A piece of jewel!

    Beautiful car! My father bought one back in 1962, while living in South America. I believe it was this exact model, in cream white with black hard top. Best car he ever had!

      Hi I was just on a couple minutes ago I need new tail light cues not shoes cues I don't know whether it's better to have those regrown or buy them already rechromed so I need some advice on that

    The best T-bird design of 'em all, IMHO. Actually there's rather a lot of "orange peel" effect in that paint (I've painted a buncha cars, so I notice stuff like that) but, yum yum yum!

      I noticed that paint job too! I have the same car (in a white top convertible), same color, and luckily, mine is smooth and looks great in the sun ☀️ 😊! 😆👍 The paint job is crucial to a restoration!

    Very nice T-bird. I just happened to talk with a gentleman today, about buying two 1962 Thunderbirds. Both have original 390 engines still in them, and one is actually in pretty good shape, the other is a parts car.
    I love these old Fords.

    Do the dealers pick the cars that they wanted filmed or do u?

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  11 років тому

      For the most part, I just film whatever I feel like doing. Occasionally, they need a video done to show a potential customer, so they'll ask me to do it. I just try to mix things up as much as possible, because everyone has different taste.

    A new Toyota PU driven by a drunk hit my parked '62 T-Bird. It Totalled the Toyota. After the tow truck pulled it off my T-Bird the only damage was a busted tail light! No Body Damage! That's US Steel! 10mpg 😭🥴

  • @JohnDgr81

    Everything was great, until I HEARD the engine in this car!,...my very first car was a 1961 ,baby powder blue, T bird, and it was quiet as a mouse. !...like floating on a cloud!...it also had swivel front seats, and the passenger front seat back could be lowered to mate with the back seat and make "bed" .....I wonder what that car would be worth now!.....

    • @kingkrimson8771
      @kingkrimson8771 3 роки тому +1

      Why do many people say T-Birds of this era had swivel front seats? They did not. There was a swingaway steering column but that's it. There was also no reclining front passenger seat back. That feature didn't arrive until the '64 model year. (By the way, I'm a VTCI-certified judge of 61-63 and 64-66 T-Birds).

  • @quintonmchale7997
    @quintonmchale7997 7 років тому +3

    the designers & ceo's for T- bird at Ford were trippin' on bad acid starting in 67
    They took a small, cool looking 4 seat sports car & turned it into a fugly dinosaur, so fugly, that it eventually went extinct.
    nice going ! hope you all got the full retirement benefits you didn't deserve

      I hope you understand he's referring to the Thunderbird for the 1967 model year and on. This body style was from 1961 through '63.

      that clay guy can't read too well.
      Only if Ford & Shelby made the CSX Cobra to KEEP COMPETING with the vett !
      as undesirable as the
      '77 vett is, take a look at the awesome ( sarcasm) ' 77 T- bird. ( what a beauty)
      So in '99, Ford gets another shot to compete with the vett AND WHAT DO THEY COME UP WITH ???!!!
      Another wierd POS they had to discontinue !
      PCP & Grain alcohol have been abused by the T - bird designers since 1967.

    What was with styles in the 50s and 60s. It’s like someone tried to make a space vehicle cross airplane.
    Cars today have no real style. It’s like you get a car today and you feel bored just driving it and working on it. Also you just throw away new cars and forget them they have no value and no memorable style. If you look at 90s thunderbirds you can clearly see how it looks like all the other cars on the road doesn’t even feel luxurious just plain and ugly

    Why do all "restorers" paint every Ford engine blue? This car should have a black engine with argent silver valve covers and air cleaner.

    The 390 engine blocks on the 1961 thru 1963 are supposed to be painted black. The 1961 and 1962 air cleaner canister and value covers are painted in argent silver.
