Flow restrictor plays an important role in purification of water as well as the life of the RO membrane. In this video we are going to see the function of flow restrictor used in RO water purifier and also we will calculate which flow restrictor is match with which RO membrane.

I have a 100 gpd pump, a 80 gpd ro membrane and my water tds is 1030 what FR should I use
If i go according to your chart then i should use 800 FR right

i got a 400gpd RO membrane and may TDS is 280. what value of FR should i use?
Why are you using 400 GPD RO membrane?? The value of flow restrictor for 400GPD membrane should be 3150 mL.
So I increase the flow restrictor does the pure water flow increase or decrease?
increasing the flow restrictor value decreases the pure water flow.
@@diyrepairs That's what i figured. Thanks. But, if the flow of pure water is already very low, does that mean you should get a higher gpd pump or the membrane or both? Like would a 100 gpd pump work on a 80 gpd membrane or do we need matching ones?
@@pulkitchanana Matching is required for all, i.e. pump, membrane and FRT

you can use either 525 or 550
I don't think you really even need an NF filter for this low a TDS. You probably are getting treated water. Maybe just get a UF+UV setup to be on the safer side.
