    World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tops the field for the Airthings Masters, the 2nd stage of the Champions Chess Tour. The 12-player event will be played online on chess24 from December 26th to January 3rd and, as the first Major of the tour, features a $200,000 prize fund with $60,000 for 1st place. The winner also qualifies directly to the Grand Final in September 2021.
    The tournament starts with a 3-day preliminary stage where the players play each other once before the top 8 go forward to a knockout. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: championschesstour.com

    Radjabov in top form is one of the best players in the world. Let's not forget that he won World cup and spot at the Candidates tournament( withdrawing afterwards and MVL jumped in)
    Tactically he played this tournent almost too perfection

      @@cmc2110 But it is mostly the winner of the match who is present in the thumbnail. At the very least, for tournament matches, this can be avoided. Same goes for the title of the video. These are very small things but can greatly enhance the excitement with which the viewer watches the video. Just my humble suggestions.

    Watched this live. The time killed Levon - he just couldn’t find a way to break down the black wall without going kamikaze. His position looked so strong but goes to show a position is just potential energy. Teymur stifled him beautifully. Great day of very expert, tight chess. Wishing both good luck tomorrow

      well to say time killed Levon is an understatement.. I think Radjabov was surprisingly better prepared! considering Levon was very comfortable playing the Berlin vs MVL it just felt like he wasn't ready to play that line Radjabov went for

      While Radjabov performance is impressive, you can't really compare the result from a rapid online chess tournament with a standard chess tournament like the candidates.

They don't do anything wrong, every chess player agree to play besides Radjabov, so don't bring the Covid issues here.       @@sreeharie821 never, that is a big misconception people came to by misunderstanding his jokes in interviews. Also, he joined SLIGHTLY fewer tournaments than his colleagues for a couple of years.

    #suggestion airthings masters 1/4 final, match 2, fourth game, Radjabov vs Nepomniatchi, by move 30 Nepo's pieces are all clumped together in front of his king trying to stop Radjabov's attack.     May I suggest that Levon not play a Ruy Lopez in game 4? Literally any Italian attack line, a Scotch, A sideline in the QGD. Many more aggressive openings are possible. If GMs are constantly drawing these games, why would you play this when looking for a win? He lost a drawish opening with white..... makes my point even stronger.
