You had a fair few good tips in the comments already made, it can be difficult to time the dodge rolls for Moder’s melee attack so I tend to just use the bow. 2 suggestions if that’s the route you go, max out the bow, and maybe forget fire arrows in place of obsidian arrows, while Moder is weak to fire, the additional pierce damage more than compensates in my view. Also worth fully upgrading the Drauger fang. In face, when going again Moder, I’ll bring a back up bow and go in with 400 arrows.
As others have mentioned, you should be able to access better foods than you are currently using.
Only other thoughts, always have a back up portal for any boss fight, it’s too easy for your near portal to get smashed up and leave you stranded. If possible, only fight during day I’ve to avoid night spawns, maybe you could lose the golem in the plains or at least a different biome?
It’s a tough fight but you’ll leave Moder in tears before long 👍👍😎😎

While Moder is weak to fire, you should still be able to do more damage to her with poison or obsidian arrows, as the fire effect is not very strong.

When you are going to pick up from your tombstone, make sure to disable auto-pickup, and that your inventory is empty. Then when you pick up your inventory, you should immediately activate your Megingjord belt (unless you were under your beltless weight limit).

Exactly! I've died so many times for this same reason. There were times all my skill points dropped below 10, some even got to 0.

      @Tomiro-1984 16 днів тому +4

In general a good idea to disable auto pickup before boss fights, especially when fighting something like Yag. Otherwise you could end up dying with 450 units of stone, that you will have to sort through when looting your grave.

Golems - Easy Golem trap - dig a pit, wait for him to come to the edge of the pit, and then hit the wall under him with a pickaxe. Leave him in the pit. Don't kill him until you want to.

Attacked while ‘exposing your vein’ filth!! 🤣🤣
Oh mate. The vid started so well. You were so proud to show off all that hard work on the base. Looks awesome by the way. Then you went head long in to moder with no real plan or prep and died with no portal. That sucks!!
You need better food, fully upgraded armour and weapons. Also need an easy escape route like a cave or something. Keep going though, i believe in you.

    32:29 .. he .. cursed!!! :O
Arrows don't do much damage to Moder making the fight *feel* very difficult. So the non-cheese way to kill him: What you did near the end was good; not sure if you realized that, but you lured him off of the mountain to more easy/flat terrain. Once he lands there; it's relatively easy to walk up to his face and smack it hard. Which does more damage. I suggest you use a sword, not a mace; as the sword is faster to hit him with. So yea, get that silver sword, lure him to flatter area, slash his face open.
In short: Turn it into a melee fight on flatter ground, instead of an bow/arrow fight on rocky terrain.

Hi Caster. The "You are being hunted" raid can be nasty if you aren't expecting it. It is one of the few raids that can happen outside of bases. It spawns lots of waves of wolves to attack you - but if you can weather it, it is a great source of wolf meat and pelts.
Some information and tips for you:
    - If you need to recover stamina while running away, sheath your weapon (or select the hammer) as having a drawn weapon reduces stamina recovery somewhat.
    - If you die and interacting with the grave doesn't recover everything, it is because you have too many things in your grave to carry in one go, either due to weight or number of items.
    - With boss fights you need to get rid of normal mobs as quickly as possible as they will attack you, but not the boss.
    - With something big like a golem, you could try trapping it in a steep pit or constructing some walls near it to stop it getting to you, rather than trying to kill it.
    - I've seen some people place fires down around the boss area to stop mobs spawning.
    - With most bosses, you need a combination of missiles to hit it from range and melee attacks (which are riskier, but do more damage). All boss fights are easier with other players as one player can draw the aggro allowing the others to attack.
    - Fire arrows don't do much base damage but do add the burning effect. By the time you get into mountains and plains, they generally aren't worth using.
Obsidian arrows do a much better base damage and are plentiful in resources. I used them for ages as my default "hard hitting" arrows (basic wood arrows are still fine for weak monsters or hunting).
    - Frost arrows are better (they are basically obsidian arrows with freeze glands), but don't waste them on Mountain creatures.
    - For taming animals, you only need to keep them fed if you want them to reproduce. If they are hungry they won't starve or anything.
    - Watch out for flying creature raids (Drakes and Bats) as they will tear into exposed tame animals.

    A few tips for success:
-Make a little portal outpost near her spawn but not to close
    -Eat Eyescream, Sausages, Onion soup
    -More potions
    -Fully upgrade weapons and armor
    - When she is flying have plenty poison arrows they are more effective than fire arrows
-When she lands drink stamina and healing potions pop bonemass to tank damage, use secondary attack with Sword or Dagger for massive damage.
-Always keep an eye on your potion cool downs, stamina, and rested buff
With the proper shield, health, and block you should be able to at least block some attacks. Dodge Roll or jump to avoid incoming damage. Her attacks are pretty easy to predict so stamina management will be more important.

Moder tricks. Kite him to a nearby cave. Use the hoe to create a dirt wall that you can hide behind. Jump inside the cave if you need to take a quick breather/regain health.

Portals - I always setup two sets of portals. One protected semi-close (like that castle) and then a second one as close to the fight as I can and protect it with Stone walls, etc. to keep the dragon from destroying it.

The base is coming along so nicely! Great job on the body recovery. Wow you are having a rough fight with Moder! That really sucks. She was in a spot that had so many added mobs. I like to dig down next to her alter, preferably under a rock as well to put my portal and bed for re-spawn. Cuts down on the re-gen time she has. If things get spicy also gives me a spot to hide. And cheese the fight from. Poison and obsidian arrows are a bit more effective. Sorry it went sideways there. Looking forward to you taking her down next episode.

A really easy trick is to always have a portal with you. (And put it down before you do something)
So you don't have to run as far to your death.
Sometimes there are chests under the wooden floor of the broken towers in the mountains.😊

When fighting Moder it is best to prepare the arena area where you are going to fight. That means, with pickaxe and hoe. Digging down around the altar and flattening it out is good since this gives you something to hide behind when she shoots out her icy projectiles. Don't just make a trench as you may get stuck in it. Some people raise up some stone pillars to hide behind. Your particular altar area is quite small and very precipitous, so that is an issue. Kill any other critters in the area before summoning Moder. Use obsidian arrows.

If "You Are Being Hunted," find an elevated spot that the wolves can't climb and you can retreat there if need be.
If you kill any wolves they will be replenished until the hunt has finished. But it is a good opportunity to get wolf pelts, meat, etc.

Yeah, those Golomns hits like a truck, you can parry them but it takes a while to master and some Golomns have a tendency to fake a parry. If need be you can take him out with the bow, just takes allot longer, keep moving around as they can reach even the weirdest points on the mountain. Your base looks mighty fine might i add. Thx for the vid :)

That 1V1 against the wolf was awesome! i thought you were a goner. Moder fight its difficult when having a lot of creatures around specially wolves who, i think, had the fastest damage output

I assume 6 floor tile range for log troll attacks - Pigs only need to be fed to make more piggys. They won't starve. Tamed Wolves will eat through wood fence to get to enemies - Use stone or earth. Best thing from hildir is the iron pit - fire than can be placed on wood floor.

  • @janus1958
    @janus1958 16 днів тому +2

I found that poison arrows were more effective than fire arrows. While she is weak to fire, the extra fire damage doesn't make up for the overall lack of punch fire arrows have. You can sometimes get golems to trap themselves by having them do a smash attack while they are on a rock. Moder can't attack straight down if you are underneath her, so that's the best place to be for a melee attack. There are other strategies for fighting Moder, but they are a bit moot now as they rely on prepping the battle area prior to engagement.

Check what the controls are to toggle on and off autopickup. Corpse run gives a carry more weight bonus - which can bite you with overweight debuff when it runs out - Corpserun is buff from popping a tombstone - lasts 30 seconds.

Deer Stew is a Black forest level food. You should have better options - serpent meat ( 70 h/23 stam/3 regen) ( cooked on iron cooking station) would be best. Wolf skewer ( mtn food unlock)(65/21/3) next ( need new cooking station upgrade from crafting tab). Black soup (50/17/3) from swamp is better than Deer stew (45/15/3). You are doing very very well for first time through with Moder, the dragon mother. All that chitin you got off the leviathans ( 3 together WOW) - makes a harpoon that can drag a golem into a hole as somone else commented. HINT - Maybe a Forsaken power that helps with movement and jump stamina would help.

Yeah so armour and tools weigh a lot so that’s why I saw a comment saying only bring essential when going to get things. Like no axe, rake, ext… if you don’t need them on your trip. I’m sure the silver armour is a lot heavier then What you had in last video. 🎉❤

A valiant effort but you weren't really prepared enough for Moder.
Food: You haven't unlocked your Mountains Tier food yet! You have a kitchen upgrade you've missed (its available to build now).
Lack of DPS: Moder (and all future bosses) have a ton of Hit Points, she was healing faster than you were doing damage for much of that fight. To kill her with bows you need to keep up a much higher fire rate. And supplement with melee combat to speed the process if possible. The terrain makes it tough but you want to minimize the time/effort/stamina used to avoid attacks and immediately get back to attacking.
Fire Arrows Weak: Their base damage is really low, even with +50% fire damage due to her weakness (44 damage base). Obsidian arrows 20% more damage (52) and poison even better.
Gear Level: Upgrade your bow to do more damage and increase its durability. Upgrade armor for more protection (and perhaps try Fenris legs for a movement speed boost).

If you are determined to fight Moder with bow only then obsidian arrows do more damage. Ps. no matter what I do there always ends up being a boar outside the pen. I usually name it Freeman and he just wanders around my compound.

Welp, nice first attempt, Lot of people here have great tactics to kill Moder, personally i find it too early to start fighting her just yet, took me an ingame week to kill her (with my partner) But i believe you can pull it off!

    That was fun.
Your mace did more damage than the bow. Stop using the secondary attack it takes too long and it uses stamina.
    She has 4 attacks
    Crystal
    Freeze
    Bite
    Wing strike

PARRY the stone golem attacks. You can stagger the golem, and you get multiple times the attack damage if the mob has been staggered.

  • @xantishayde-walker4593
    @xantishayde-walker4593 15 днів тому +1

You have Dragur Fang, which by itself does poison dots on the enemy. I would suggest Poison Arrows as well.
Reason being, you'd be stacking the dots from the Arrows with the Bow but also, the Fire Arrows, despite what you would logically think (fire melt ice, mountains full of ice creatures), are kinda weak, at least for the Mountains, seeing as how you can make them in the 1st Biome and Mountains are the 4th.
I hope that helps you, since it seems you were having a rough time with Moder. Also, Moder means Mother in the Dev's Native Language.
Be careful, you'll get cancelled for misgendering that dragon. 😂
At any rate, don't worry about being kinda' shit at the game, it makes it interesting. If it was too easy, it would be boring. Besides, if you're spoiler-free, you can't know everything.
Edit: Btw, I'm kinda shit at them game at times too. I'm playing modded to make things a bit easier because I'm playing solo and I've gotten used to conveniences from other games, like not using stamina when not in combat (how Elden Ring does it) or logical things like, if you have a leather cape, that should protect you from getting wet, hence no Wet debuff. Makes the Swamps wayyyy easier.
Also got a progression mod to make killing bosses and conquering biomes more rewarding and less time consuming and a mod that does an AoE when mining, so you don't have to mine out every individual piece, but not cheaty like "Just mine in one spot and you'll get the whole Copper Node eventually" crap.
This is all because I don't have a ton of time to play games, so I can't be bothered with taking a lot of extra time to grind as much as the Vanilla Experience enforces. It is nice to watch people play unmodded too though. Just keep playing as long as you're having fun. Obviously, a lot of us are enjoying watching you.

You are the only person I have EVER seen that killed a Stone Golem with a bow. The preferred way is to PARRY them with the shield and then when they are staggered whack them once or twice with the iron mace. Use the first attack, the secondary attack is too slow and you may get caught in that animation.
