To cut a long story short: Miho's dad used to bring her at concerts when she was a kid. One day, in that same venue, she had told him she would be the one on stage one day. Her father was a huge Lovebites supporter, but sadly unexpectly died some months before. Miho and the ladies wrote this song about and for him. You can see from the start that all five are anormally serious - Asami is obviously singing for someone "up there", Miho look lost by walking the stage, you can evenwitness a brief Miyako "are you ok?" nod to Miho and a "ok" nod in return, then she come to Asami and can't hold it anymore. But she still didn't miss a single note! Lovely people.
Thank you for the insight to what was happening I don't know what to say they are just all awesome
When I saw the live DVD performance (which I ordered, along with the live DVD, "Five Of A Kind."), saw Asami hug Miho as she shed tears, my respect for Asami and the Love Bites band members, rose off the chart. What incredible young women, such depth, sincerity. Add to this the astonishing virtuosity and creative song writing, lyrics. and Love Bites totally won me over. They are a true Super Band, one of the best ever, in my view. (I'm 71, been listening to rock based music, all genres, 55 years).
Thank you so much for the explanation of what was happening. I was almost brought to tears myself when I saw Miho crying on the DVD. I had a feeling it was something like this, thanks so much for confirming and filling in the details. Your account of it almost brought me to tears again. 🥺
It was a tribute to Mihos father who passed away
Thank you for letting me know that.
That was nice of them to do that what a band
knocked me away again, very emontional for Miho, that's how friends stick together! 😥😏😌
Yes, that's why Miho was crying after Asami's gently hugs in this video.
Now i know. Miho❤
Dad would be proud of his girl. Although crying, she did not miss a single note. What a professional. ❤️🤘
That was sooo emotional, seeing Miho like that. Talk about tugging the heartstrings!
Well now I know why buy some of the others comments
MIHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you and i are the same age and have heard just about every great band in the last 60 years. i have to ask you to reach into your memory and think and tell me if you've ever heard a band this epic ? the more i hear them the more i love them and am just continually blown away by the level of talent. we have heard the term 'supergroup' thrown around before but to me this is the definition of that term. i'm just glad i stuck around long enough to hear this. now i can die happy. if there is an afterlife this is the music i want to hear !
Thank you well I have looked bank and I cannot find any band that I can compare to Lovebites
And like you say about supergroup I think we have found one and I have got hear them awesome
At age 71, I grew up in the late '50s, early '60s, listening to rock legends, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Scotty Moore (original guitarist for Elvis), along with country greats like Chet Atkins. Then came the Beatles, Rolling Stones, British invasion, which ironically led me as a young teen, to American blues and jazz. Legends, Albert and BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Hubert Sumlin (guitarist for Howlin' Wolf), and jazz greats, Wes Montgomery, Tal Farlow, Barney Kessel, all incredible guitarists. My journey continued into classical music, Andres Segovia, John Williams, and great violinists, pianists, which continues to this day.
In 1965, I heard John Mayall's Blues Breakers, with a young new guitarist, Eric Clapton, and later, Peter Green (who later formed Fleetwood Mac). In 1966, Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, formed Cream, one of the greatest bands in history, in my view. I discovered Alvin Lee, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin with Jimmy Page, and into 70s, 80s, with Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughn.
As I matured, I began exploring international folk music, mostly Asian, from China, Mongolia, Tibet, and finally, Enka from Japan. This led to discovery of music from Japan, jazz, blues, rock, metal. I had no idea Japan had taken over rock and metal! My fascination, respect for great Japanese artists, male and female, grew exponentially, and continues to this time.
A few months ago, some on line reviewers from Europe saw my comments regarding love of great guitar music. They recommended I listen to Love Bites. I had already discovered the dynamic Band Maid, and became a fan of this remarkable band, but I was not prepared for Love Bites.
LOVE BITES, all female, dressed in white, versed in classical music, with influences from classic rock, yet steeped in heavy metal, creating their own compositions, scoring, arranging their own music, writing often profound lyrics (then translating these into English), with astonishing virtuosity, intensity, passion, with an incredible lead singer. I was TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! Who are these women, how did they become such incredible musicians?
Love Bites has totally won me over, in every way. They captured my imagination, my very soul. I did NOT believe this possible, at my age. I'm not even into metal, always blues and jazz based, but Love Bites is the real deal.
I'm going out on a limb now, and I know some critics will attack me for saying this, feel compelled to impart their superior "wisdom" on to me, as an old, ignorant guy, but critics be damned, Love Bites IS the BEST rock based band (not just metal), I have ever heard. The more I listen to their CDs, watch their DVDS (I ordered all their CDs and DVDs, "Daughters of the Dawn" and "Five of a Kind," to see how the band performed in live concert), the more these amazing ladies impress.
So, before anyone feels compelled to criticize my support to Love Bites, be advised, I've been around the musical block a few times, for many decades. I KNOW great music when I hear it. Love Bites is far more than good, they are incredible!
I hope and pray when this cursed COVID crisis resolves, Love Bites can finally tour the USA. If they come anywhere near my native Texas, I would pay most anything to see them in live concert. Meantime, I wish Love Bites every success. I hope they gain global recognition, financial success, and profound musical impact on all rock music, including metal and beyond.
@@Lpmgato1 beautifully written
I feel I read some story.
@@Lpmgato1 You are ten years older than me, but apart from that, I agree with you on every single syllable.. Love from Sweden
@@erikjohnson1960 Thank you, Erik. Blessings from a rural Texas farmer. Praying daily for Miho, that she will find peace she is looking for, and that Love Bites will re unite and return, with whoever they choose for playing bass.
Japanese women are the best
Thank you now tell me something I didn't know LOL!!!
Another awesome reaction by my favorite reactor. Hahaha it happens to me as well having to clean my glasses. This particular song has great significance to Miho since she co wrote it with Asami, it reflects with the passing of Miho’s father.
Thank you I don't know how I managed to hold it together
The Daughters of the Dawn show is nearly as good as Five of a Kind and is worth owning just for this performance alone.
Thank you and you are right
I have a hard time watching this performance because of how emotional I get. It breaks me every time :/ Big hugs for Miho
Thank you I know how you feel If you wakch my reaction to Miyako doing Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways.
It destroyed me
good reaction, I will recommended Live from "Battle In The east", but it looks like Victor entertainment is blocking in worldwide
there are lots of old songs that are just as good..
Thank you I have two more Lovebites ready to go up Edge Of The World and Don't Bite The Dust.
I will put them up soon.
Edge of the world
Songwriters: Mao / Asami
Why do we learn to hate, deceive and lie, hurt each other?
Why does it never end? The sorrow keeps on repeating
Wailing, come downpours of the rain
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wondering, what only time can tell
What is at the end of life?
Why do we only see our own desires? Greed is endless
Why is there authority when there is no justice in their rulings
Struggling like feeble, helpless fools
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wandering, not knowing where to go
Carrying the breath of life
Standing at... The Edge of the World
As long as you're still alive, remember
- Don't fear standing up, don't ever give it up
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
- Let your soul shine inside of your heart
As long as you're still alive, remember
- Keep your dignity, stay true to who you are
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
- Let your heart love and always be loved
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
Thank you very much for the lyrics
this is but the wrong song
I think that’s the song in the second half of the video we just reviewed... next up I presume
@@timgove5337 That was the first song second to follow
Miho is unforgettable. To make her dream come true, she created the greatest female metal band. We owe her a lot. May she always be happy and her career be successful.
Thank you, yes we all do.
sorry wrong song :) Journey to the Otherside
Lovebites
Across the River Styx
Within the half eclipse
This is the beginning of your final judgement days
Now then, let's count your sins
Lies will bring discipline
Too late to apologize, it's time to pay the price
You've saved the lives of countless souls
Except your very own life
I'm suffering sorrow and pain
It's killing me inside
Counting to forty-nine
Your sentence comes in time
Till then please let us mourn
To lighten your burden
I dedicate this song to you
It's too early for death
I hate to say goodbye to you
But I've got to say...
Journey to the other side
Pray for you, always in our memories
Carry on your great legacy
Journey to the other side
I will stay strong because I know it
Won't be long till I see you again
Someday
Across the River Styx
Within the half…
Thank you and never mind
