Anyone helping to keep the smokers alive and thriving is good in my book.
waaaang waaaaaang ting ting ting
@@fidelcatsro6948 And one can never forget the big fat single cylinder smokers idle. PLANG PLANG PLANG PLANG PLANG. Love them.
This engine is definitely not helping as the price tag is 3800-7800 :D just bonkers ridiculous and unimaginable ammount of money for a motocross engine :D i can buy a NEW 450 mx bike for less :D
An Electric motor of that size is making over 300hp... ... ... 2stroke engines should be in museums like we have the spears and swords from the romans...
@@JP-xd6fmthose are two completely unrelated things, you’re comparing apples to orangutans. What’s your favorite food?
Because I will change it completely and then shove it down your throat, which is similar to what you’re doing here.
And I’m a guy that loves electric cars as their own category, but don’t piss on my parade with your nonsense.
A group of engineers that finally know what the people want, awesome job guys!
Still Not good enough, because the reed valve should be putted onto the the block, and not onto the cylinder. Pwy.
@@bustjanzupan1074 This has been tested and there where zero performance improvement. Plus this would have stopped us from selling this cylinder to the CR500 engines.
@@PantheraMotorsports Yes, i Know, that with that setup there can not be much power achieved , BUT, the Endurance improves A-Lot, Because of a Much Bigger cylinder Surface on the intake side. But, if the case is that it fits onto the Cr500, than it is also not so bad, and so be it. Peace with you from old Eu.
depends on the price lol. noone wants a motor that costs more than a second hand bike in a race oriented vehicle.
Intake on the cylinder is easier to port as well, should you want it.
The interchangeability with the CR500 motor is genius!
Now an aluminum frame machine can be built without stealing a powerplant away from an original Cr500. It's genius.
I don't think Honda had any idea what they would set in motion with their liquid cooled CR500 in 1985. Awesome job Panthera for giving people what they want in a modern day 500+ cc 2 stroke. I cant wait to see one of these motors in a frame testing different terrains and tracks.
I prefer the CR700W
its nice to see that theres still people that love big bore single cylinder 2 strokes
OMG this is the first time i see a prober build engine with ALL THE THINGS you need, we need more things like that
But you will never buy one or know anybody who will, so who are you speaking for?
@@EarthSurferUSA - How do you know?
This is a winning design. The flexibility of components and the parts availability will make it a winner.
Price will kill it.
Wow, 600cc's of 2 stroke power plus all the different configuration options. Good job.
Just awesome. Two strokes are making a come back.
Two-strokes never went away completely, they've been alive & well in the world of snowmobiles. The Rotax ETEC direct-injection voice-coil 2-cycle engine is powerful, has low emissions, great fuel economy, burns very little oil & is virtually smoke-free. This engine has been used by Skidoo in their snowmobiles for more than a decade. There's even a turbo-charged version for high altitudes. It might be too heavy for dirt bikes. Welcome to the 21st Century!
This is so cool! Would love to do a build with one of these monsters...
Panthera, make this happen!
I would love to see this as well, specially with the detail you go into with your builds
Yes pleaseeee
You willing to pay 7800 dollhairs for a engine?
@@vihreelinja4743 yea they are not cheap. I wonder if that is CAD. or USD. either way it is still pricey plus a pipe and carb or EFI. omg it is expensive.
How amazing.. Much respect for creating this amazing product and for keeping 2 strokes alive. I really hope that this will be a great succes. This made my day 👌
Would have loved to see it in action, even better to have a wiff of the exhaust.
Very cool. At RPM’s we used to to bore and stroke 80’s to 112cc, 125’s to 167cc, and 250F’s to 315cc, but making your top-end compatible with the CR500 is genius!
Rick Peterson
Love this. Great job with development and looking ahead with 2 stroke development.
The amount of options and interchangability are incredible!
Man I've lost sleep dreaming this motor up in my head you guys are dream makers and much better engineers, great job!
Awesome work Sebastien, giving me the itch to start riding again.
That's a great looking bit of kit... well done.. 🙂
Reminds me of the Suzuki TM 400 I set up for Flat tracking which was way competitive. Great job of engineering !
My bighorn 350cc single 2stroke rotary intake surprised lot's of 500cc 4strokes on a flattrack!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
@relese_thebeast7299 those XLT600 tripple were great machines 👏 👍 I love the sound of them. Yamaha had a good tripple also! Those red headed engines had a distinct sound, when compared to the twins of today!...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
Amazing work of art(enginering) with all of the things that people really want and find useful
.. Absolutely amazing! Love the build options! I have the 500 e'start and love it! Sebastian works hard to make everything perfect.
Time to save for the 600..
Yes yes and more yesses. Wish i can get to ride one of these some day. Thats pure art
Cool, now give us a 2.4L V-4 I can drop into a small track car 🙂 Two-strokes, being so simple, so easy to work on and so power-dense are the perfect option for something like that.
Might well supercharge it like the old two stroke diesels 😎👍
@@markgiraldes4062 Well, that would be different from a crankcase-bypass two-stroke, as the two strokes you're thinking of (such as the old Detroit Diesel V-8s) have poppit valves in the heads for exhaust. But yes, those do exist.
Personally, I think it would be easier to cast one large block that can accept four Panthera heads, connected by one crank that has each piston firing 90 degrees off of one another than it would be to put a cam, pushrods, modified ports at the bottom for the cylinder intake, and positive displacement blower on the engine.
@@markgiraldes4062 ua-cam.com/video/znBTQvy28f8/v-deo.html
Here is a less than two minute video explaining how a two-stroke diesel works. They're quite different from a crankcase-bypass two-stroke.
Farebbe 100m al litro di benzina. Ci vorrebbe un mega serbatoio 😅
There is virtue in the simplicity of singles. Making multiple cylinders agree harmoniously adds complexity, but modern sensors and microprocessors would help immensely.
It might make more sense to lose the transmission and counter-balancer and make it into a twin piston, single-cylinder hybrid ICE/electric, continuous-torque powertrain. Instead of mating the pistons mechanically, they could be coupled electrically with their own generators which could be used to manipulate piston speeds during each stroke and throughout the rev range.
Omg! You guys nailed it!!! 👏 🔥🏁
OMG this is so sick !! The AF500 craze is going to be expanded big time with this option and with even more displacement 😜🔥🤘🏼
Vous êtes des machine !!! Bravo pour votre beau travail et garde le 2 temp en vie :)
Long live the 2 strokes 👏🏾👏🏾
This is amazing work. Very exited.
What a great product!!!! Can't wait to throw one in a atc frame one day
It has every single thing it should have, this is certainly THE dream engine!
Such a cool product. Eventually id like to get my hands on one!
Can not wait ,good luck !!! greeting from South Africa .
Wow. All for under 10k? That is crazy. I'm about to build the most badass snow bike ever.
Damn that's beautiful..gotta get my hands on one someday.
Great job! Put it on my Christmas wish list! Haha!
Cheers from Montreal!
Awesome stuff guys. Nice work.
Incredible work guys 🙌
AWESOME ENGINE. Can't wait to see it in a motorcycle.
This is awesome and amazing! Good job guys!!!
I like that all of the outdated but still charming features have been updated, but not eliminated. I like carburetors and kick start, they just make me happy. Hydraulic clutches are neat though.
You had me at 600cc two-stroke…❤✊🤘🏻
Damn got me thinking of getting back in the game! Awesome job guys!!
Wow impressive looking engine. Would love to see one running on the dyno.
Some madman is going to drop one of those in a Vespa🤘🤘
The CR500 had enough power for me (140 lbs), now 600cc counter balanced. Crazy!!! Keep it going!

Mako 700. It's a fish 😃
Yeah, my teeth remember the vibration.
600 CC 2 stroke with balance axle ;) I want one... I did try the 2016 KTM 300 2 stroke but found it lacking in power but it was a dream to drive with no vibrations thanks to the balance axle, it was also quite fun to drive when you hit that power band.... My 2019 KTM 500 I bought new vibrates a lot but it is not to bad... But the power and low end grunt of a big 500 4 stroke is worth a little vibrations ;)
AWESOME! 2 stroke sweetness! I need a twin cylinder version for my sled
Congrats!!!! Smart design!!!
Nice. Sounds like it is well thought out
Looks beautiful.
THIS!!! This is what two stroke world needed!! A full up to date big bore 2T with current technology and gadgets (EFI, ES) and the best is maybe the compatibility of the parts, this is spot on! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Congrats for such great work and such compact design!
Would like to see a dyno chart of such engine and the power delivery, the only thing I would change is the displacement, I would have kept it to 500 cc for the sake of authenticity... 😅
No man. There is no replacement for displacement. As long as the power delivery is enormous and linear.
@@wazzzappening4848 Well there kind of is. Turbos, nitro and superchargers :D one litre turbo engine make more powah than a 6 litre american hunk of steel :D displacement usually add weight and thats not good when you want to go faaaaaaaaast.
The increase allows them to run a cleaner and more efficient engine with increased torque and power on a lower octane of fuel.
@@vihreelinja4743also, turbos are great, but some people prefer a big low rpm engine, they’re a joy to cruise in and are not picky about which gear you’re in. Yeah, a 7 liter LS7 Corvette engine _only_ makes 505hp but it gets 30mpg on the highway. If turbos were always the answer, and there was no limit to boost, we’d have that 1 liter engine propelling cargo ships with 60,000psi of boost.
Wow great work
Looks amazing!
I hope so much this is a success for you and that you maybe even do a 500/450 two-stroke with a KTM bolt pattern, to swap into a KTM chassis
I wish that being old and full of RA would not stop me from Riding, but it does. All of you who can still ride have a Great opportunity here.
wicked cool bit of kit! just need the v-twin 1000 cc cases now. Lol!
Very very nice
Great job
Also a nice option for a selfmade project bike orso
Man, love 2 strokes, that little booger looks mean!
complete package this thing is a beast!
Would be sick to get an option for a YZ chassis
Awesome. Is there any stats to drool over? When are these likely available?
I'd love to stick this in little race rep.
Now make a V-Twin model!
naaah you need to get HD to do that..
@@fidelcatsro6948Maybe an Indian two stroke v-twin ! 😜
Glad to hear like minds.. for road race.. plus a high torque broadband Enduro engine 💕
@@Errol.C-nz might as well supercharge like the old two stroke diesels ! ! 🤪🤬😎🇺🇸
In-line triple, with pipes…. 300-350 hp. 😮
Looks Mental! Want one!
Perfect for a snow bike. If you want to set me up I'll get started on some snow bike promotions for you!
I have a few pipe designs I would swap you for a motor to try them out with. I was working with KX500 engines, and found one that worked well with the older cylinders, and one that worked almost as well with the 90's ones. All of them loved a certain type of porting, but I had to work around that and now I know what to do with each of them! Yours will be a little different, but I'm really hoping my open setup falls right in place :)
Awsome, new stuff costs thats how it is. Just hope i win the lottery 😁
Hope this is gonna be tested by magazines so you get the word out!
This is great. I’m currently have a CR 500 motor that I’m looking to get upgraded to electric start. Is this something you can help with?
Great engine! Much better than Zabel or Mega. I might by one for my dirtbike/ timbersled. Seems like good engine for snowbike. Cheers from Finland.👍🏻
Under square? Or over? What is the bore and stroke of it and the stock CR 500? Thanks
Do you have anything for older dual sports,
DT’s, TS, KE, or KX?
would this be suitable for street bike ? im tempted to put one in to either aprilia rs125 frame or suzuki rgv frame
I grew up driving 2 stroke motorcycles. I have a near mint Yamaha RZ00 I bought new in 1985. It would be great if you took your engineering and built an inline 4 or a v4 with Panthera Motors 600 cylinders. A 2400cc engine to put into a sport bike. It would be fun to drive that monster.
Just needs 1200. 2 cylinders
being able to mate the top end to a preexisting CR500 was smart. feeling the powerband of a 500 is exciting, imagine the 600. I'll find a way to get me one.
CR500 powerband is really tame it's not like a 250 that wants to throw you off the back. The 500 produces so much torque and power low down when it comes in to the band its not so noticeable. The CR500 feels a bit like a 4 stroke with a mild powerband.
lol not the one i rode, that thing would fling me off in a real hurry!@@backyardbasher
@@avalanche15301 I have owned two of them, one was SM trim and road legal and the other MX trim, they will fling you off in a hurry and lift the front wheel with ease in forth because of the torque the big bore motor produces and not because of the severity of the powerband.
I love the Panthers 600 motor we’re going to use this on all my CR 500 builds , there is no beating a counterbalanced motor
Just curious to put this engine on a small boat..how many rpr can it produce from mid to full throt?
Brilliant!
😳😳😳😳 Awesome!!
And thanks for no ads
You guys should do the SAME for Newer Yamaha & KTM 2Strokes......I'd Love to slide-in a Real Open Class Engine into a YZ250 frame - Electric starter seals the deal.....Cheers
So where this is electronic power alive and EFI does that mean there are mapping options like the 4 strokes have? The other question I have is what kind of numbers have you seen? Have you had it mounted yet and run it on a wheel dyno? I can only imagine what potentials this has.
This isn't new technology. The Rotax ETEC direct-injection voice-coil 2 stroke engine has been powering Skidoo's snowmobiles for more that a decade. They're probably a bit too heavy for dirt bikes, but they're definitely the most sophisticated 2-cycle engines ever made.
Could this work for a XL 600 or XR 650?
Impressive stuff. Are you targeting snowbikes with your 600cc motor?
In a shifter kart would be wild!
Nice!! This is real progress.
Not if there is no profit, but I guess that defines "progress" today. Seriously, where is the market for it? I doubt they will sell enough to pay for the development and the manufacturing. Very cool, (but a 600cc does not need a power valve. More cost added for nothing.), but this project probably has bankruptcy written all over it.
@@EarthSurferUSAwell hopefully if they go under some else can buy it out of bankruptcy and even go air cooled like the old Maico’s and put it in a new frame ? Lighter, and no radiator’s to harpoon ! 😜
I meant that it’s nice to see the technological progress
This engine is still not as advanced as the Rotax ETEC direct-injection 2-cycle engine that Skidoo has been using to power their snowmobiles for more than a decade. The ETEC is probably too heavy for a dirt bike but its way ahead of piston-injection two-stroke engines.
Beautiful
Your logo is identical to my high school apart from the gear under the face lol
What frames will it fit??
Wooow. Amazing guys
My best wishes for your enterprise
Are u guys planning on doing a KX 500 based version as well down the road? As i just bought my 91 back from a friend i sold it to after blowing up the piston/ cylinder after running low octane (87) fuel on a hot day in the sand when less than a year old( needless to say the knocking was diesel-like before the piston grenaded into literally pieces.)
Do you offer this engine platform in 250cc? I've heard guys in the 270 micro sprint community say they are concerned about the rising price of the 2 stroke engines due to dwindling supplies of N.O.S. & used parts. Many drivers are struggling to bridge the price gap of switch over to a newer 4 stroke engine, that's been properly race prepped to run M1 methanol. And thats not to mention a variety of other changes that have to be done as well to accommodate the larger 4 stroke. A lot of the drivers just prefer a 2 stroke. 🤷
What if I dont want electric start or a counterbalancer for weight savings?
But.....does it make power? I have seen some of the other big bore kits that look and sound cool but don't really make the power that the size would indicate. Show us the dyno runs please.
There 560 makes 90-105 hp 😅 I think ur good
@@jakelonghorn9852 See now, THATS what I'm talkin' about. Others I have seen only claim 60-70hp. Now I'm interested, not that I "need" 100hp but........
@@ddrowdy7666 lmao for sure I couldn’t imagine 100hp dirtbike 😳😳😳
How does it work the exhaust valves?
Definitely want to get one to throw in my 2023 yz250 frame
Would be nice to see some dyno numbers.
This has everything needed to upgrade big bore 2 stroke class!!!!
Cost less than an electric conversion kit, This wins hands down, long live the smoker. What an animal.
