    Balti man is saying in 1971 gilgit baltistan became the part of India ? Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan was always the integral part of India since India got independence but unfortunately occupied by Pakistan and still under their control .

      @user_nagauri Рік тому

      That simply means it became part of india in 1971 when army occupied it

      What did you expect? Would they ever accept after killing native hindus there. Pakistan army massacred native Hindus and Sikhs there in 47 attack.

    Hey Jun, Pl DON'T say "capture"! That is wrong! Pl understand the sensitivity of the matter. All of Gilgit Baltistan is INTEGRAL part the former ' J & K" state that was illegally occupied by Pakistan

    Balti are Ladakhi! They are a subgroup of the many ethnicities within Ladakh. Ladakh in itself is very very diverse, both religiously and culturally but what binds the territory is their identity as "Ladakhi". Great video keep it up!

      But Balti have their own script and dialect, isn't it so? I know a certain gentleman fr there ( U S resident) who said the Baltis hv started using their own script and gave up the Perso- Arabic script...

      @@rajotavo The Balti people use a type of Tibetic script, similar if not identical to the Tibetan script which is the same as the Ladakhi Script. They used to have the classical Persian script after the introduction of islam but most have now started to revert back to their pre islamic script

    It would be inappropriate to use the word took over or captured, the land was liberated because since 1947 the whole princely state of j&k became part India with instrument of accession, and today’s pakistan occupied Kashmir is legally part of India, but I never heard of the Balti people and their distinctive language and culture, the video was very informative and interesting..

    Well, I believe captured is the right word as the hotel owner clearly said in just a night their nationality changes. It might not be Capturing areas by force but still captured. As a gilgit baltistani from pakistan we still missed our relatives that were forced and got caught and captured by india. Imagine your half family members are in pakistan and other half got caught in India with mo means of communication. Harsh reality.

    you can not call gilgit baltistan as state of Pakistan because under instrument of accession whole kashmir was made part of india later Pakistan occupied a good chunk of it. just imagine if we start saying part of south Korea is north Korean land occupied by south
