If you always draft the best talent avail, as a rule, then no one should be complaining. What I want to know is who wanted to re-sign HB for 18 mil last offseason because I can't imagine any GM actually wanting to take on that contract
Maybe because players kings were seaking last season werent available. And was banking on continuity , especially after a great year they had last year. It’s easier said after not making the playoffs and not expecting the west to be as strong as it was. And 18 mill contract isn’t a crazy contract in today’s NBA, it’s actually a solid contract to be able to trade for a starting caliber player to match salaries. For example if say we wanted to get Kyle Kuzma. All it would take to match salaries is HB and Davion Mitchell or Sasha. Instead of heurter and Barnes to match salary and Kuzma salary isn’t even that high but if we signed barnes for less then more than likely we would have to give up more
@@bigneal6407 18 mil/year seems abnormally high for the player with the worst or 2nd worst defensive rating, rebounds per minute and plus minus of active players on the team His stats for the previous season were way better but it's almost always downhill in an nba players early 30s
@@Drewskiifadez If they were trying to transform a terrible defensive team into at least a mediocre defensive team, that wasn't the kind of continuity needed and I think most of the fan base did not want them to re-sign HB. I personally think it was more of a Mike Brown decision given he thought they can contend for the title this year - he must've liked the roster. And Monte did try and upgrade because talks between him and HB went silent for a couple weeks last offseason. But we probably won't ever know who really wanted to - hopefully no one actually thought that was a great idea and they just didn't have any other realistic options
The Kings drafted one of the most exciting talents in this draft. This young man is the best athlete in this draft, and he also brings defense, rebounding, and another potent offensive threat. Carter can play point guard, shooting guard, and small forward in a small lineup. The Kings will be fun to watch this year, and they have become a much greater threat in the Western Conference.
I kind of like this pick. If we will play monk more and or even start monk we would need someone like DC to come of the bench. Plus there is still moves to make. We need to give it time to play out.
Thank you Monte for drafting the best player available. Don’t ever draft for positional need. Just like when Monte drafted Haliburton, on a guard heavy team.
@@stretchpunchbeef8982I get the sarcasm but him drafting Keegan wasn’t for positional needs. Monte clearly stated he thought Murray was the best player available.

This reminds me of the frank mason pick had all the hart and skills but was just too small. You’re gonna be asking a 6’2 rookie guard to switch on pick n roll and try to defend a 6’8 to 6’9 wing player with a 7’2 wing span😂😂😂. The problem why kings are so upset Is because we seen this before and it hasn’t worked d fox to ball dominant and he needs more shooters around him to open up driving lanes.
You need to stop reading social media and blogs, if you think Kuzma would be a net positive addition. The Lakers couldn’t wait to get rid of him and the Wizards have been trash with him as a featured player, just like Jordan Poole. He puts up hollow statistics and isn’t a “winning” type player. Keep that albatross far away from the Kings core of Fox, Sabonis, Murray, Monk, and now Carter. They are all good guys that don’t deserve to be poisoned by someone that once dated a Kardashian. That right there should tell anybody all they need to know about Kuzma. Aim higher, Kingsfans.

Could have signed Demar. Would have been the player to put us over and a legit playoff team.

Not with your 1st round pick. You need to draft the best player available
I mean via trades or FA. I'm cool with the pick as long as we don't go into camp with 7 guards
He saying this is Derrick White /Jrue Holiday but can’t say it
That damn typing hey buddy slowdown lol
The Friar and The Monk, is together. Now, a big hefty, intimidating shot blocker a Must.
Great young player, but a team can only have so many guards. Monte can't seem to go through a draft without getting an unnecessary 6'2 guard
Looks like Monte is betting on Keegan becoming an all star level player so he can trade Fox in a year or 2. He keeps drafting undersized guards.
I don't think keegan will be an all star. He'll have to average 27+ and 8rbs so that ain't happening.
Sacramento needs size.
Thank you bro
pretty sure they're gonna trade for that
