I'm 59 and a new CDL owner. I am trying to decide whether to do Flatbed or Dry Van. I am in pretty good physical shape and I will be watching youtube videos of the physical test Maverick puts drivers through, but I am fairly positive I will do fine. I've seen other drivers suggest learning in a Dry Van for a year or so before trying Flatbed. Would you also suggest that? I will be starting orientation for a Dry Van in a couple of weeks but not sure if I should change my direction. I know flatbed generally pays for than Dry Van but I just don't want to be worn out, physically, in 10 years. Maybe I'll just get in better shape over time in a Fltabed than a Dry Van.
yes sir, when I drove dry van I was sitting more then once 6+hours waiting to get unloaded or loaded.............. once they gave me the wrong info for a pick up. I need the trailer number and it was a Friday after 5 and the weekend /night people couldn't find it thus I ended up sitting all weekend at a truck stop till Monday when they got me the info I needed. It's a crazy industry lol
I know your company goes to Canada People are saying you guys don't have a oversize permit dept And doesn't go to Canada what's your thoughts on this your boat division will get larger and alot of boats go to Canada
Man, that's a good looking hat you have there!! I got some hi-vis orange / black hats now that I'll have to send you.
I was wondering when you would notice, 😆
Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.
For sure
Time is a killer in this industry I hate watching that clock go down as I’m waiting to get unloaded or loaded
That place looks like a headache just like where I was on Monday!!
Great video Sir 🫶🏻🇬🇧🫶🏻
Thanks

I've only done flatbed. Started when I was 47
Need to carry a 3 step step ladder or something like that for those problems….or maybe a little giant ladder..
Tried that. It was a hassle
Tarp machines suck, I would rather have the forklift driver put the tarp on top the load and unroll it by hand.
If they work and have all the parts, they are great, bit most suck!
