LOVE to see someone so PASSIONATE about their craft!!! Nothing gets in your way of sewing- not even being mobile! thanks for the packing tips; I don't sew but I dabble in other creative techniques!
I am really enjoying your updates while on the road. Your hints with regard to the spring brackets were a bonus for in our RV cupboards:-) Thanks for sharing your interesting journey.
I got hooked on Hawaiian appliqué while visiting my sister on the islands. I've been known to ship home boxes of fabric from there every time we visit. Haven't been east of the mountains in a few years so I'm excited to visit all my fav shops this year. We spend a lot of time up and down the coast and in the many nice shops there. We always find that quilters and RVers are the nicest people you will ever meet and the best people are both!! Have a fantastic trip. Looking forward to seeing what you're up to.
Thank you for sharing your journey! I am a kindred spirit, also Quilting on the road. We travel with a 28 ft travel trailer and I am fortunate to have a fair amount of storage to fill with treasures and fabric. DH (darling husband) indulges me too much! I do Hawaiian hand appliqué and quilting while driving and piece piles of baby quilts on my little New Home while parked. Keep up the beautiful videos. We'll be watching!😄
Thank you for stopping by! I also do Hawaiian Applique! if it is hand work I do it! will have some more videos over the next few days. Where are you traveling next?
Been there done that....really have to read every pattern....I did learn alot having to pack for the camper....looks like you had an amazing quilting day...
The secret to RV/sewing organization is to eat M&M's so you can use the fun container, wonderful! Charcoal grey looks good on you, Anna, and it is nice to see that you and your boys have a pleasant space with fresh flowers whilst road tripping. Looks like maybe there is a bee on your travel cup?
Hello Anna, I am a new subscriber, and I love getting to know you through You Tube and learning about the wool projects and quilt projects...and all that goes along with. :-) Please tell G that I love listening to his music! These beginnings and endings put my heart in a very peaceful place. Safe travels and best wishes.
Just saw this one. I'm in the process of catching up after finding you a month or so ago. The cooler idea is brilliant. I could put my machine in a cooler on wheels with a handle, and use it to go to classes, even adding a cool drink in there and then let it double at the lake as a cooler. So much better than an expensive carrier that has only one purpose and doesn't get used very often.
Thank you soooo much! I love that book...it was so wonderful. My only regret on this trip is A Man Called Ove was my book groups discussion for March and they are meeting today to watch the movie! The producer of The Quilt Show saw the movie and said it was excellent!!! Got it through Netflix :)
I don't know if anyone else has already said this but I have seen other RV and van dwellers fold up there coats, extra linens, things like that into a pillow cover ... you could certainly do that with fabric 😁😁😁😁👍. I mean you can never have too many throw pillows right? 😂
By the way beautiful block and you guys are really living the life ! You also have my dream sewing machine ! One day for now I have like 6 machines so I have to wait to be able to allow myself the extra expense ! If I’d known then I’d of def got one of these for an even better price than some of mine now after the fact :-( but these aren’t the cheapest but I see ladies use these for classes ! By the way I love the fat quarter shop ! Lol them flash sales are very addicting to wanna by every day ! Lol
Happy birthday to you!!!! I don't know the actual date but you say you celebrate for the whole month of October and so you should!!! You say this is a special one?? I'm busy re-watching your videos (some more than once) and I must say, you look so cozy in your "home away from home". You are soooooo organized!! Well, back to sewing for me. I just picked up a copy of Women in Sunlight from the Library and can't wait to get started (at bedtime!!). Hope you are having a wonderful birthday and that your arm is getting stronger!
Oh I hope you enjoy the book...it was enjoyable. I have tipped over to Medicare age which is amazing to me! The trailer is sitting out side right now getting organized for the next adventure :)
Quilt Roadies I know, right? Where did the time go??? So much fabric, so little time!! Well, you don't look a day over Medicare, so go enjoy yourself and your month-long birthday!!
You are just the cutest. Enzo too. I do not usually subscribe but I don't want to miss any chapters. I need to go back and catch up too. Be safe on the road.
Love the way you showed how you packed! Love the Featherweight!! Would love to have one! Especially LOVE your colorful coaster!!! Do you have a pattern or UA-cam on it?
Somehow my snips are getting dull wonder if they can be sharpened? I still can't find my cutting/mat slash ironing board so I bought an folding ironing mat at Walmart in Flagstaff...it was under $5😜
I also enjoy listening to books from my library system. I noticed your ear buds. Have you tried the new apple cordless earbuds? If not they are amazing! One of the features that I enjoy is when I take one out of my ear, the book stops playing. When I put the earbud back, it starts again without pushing a button. Now, I do realize I am about a year behind in watching your videos, so you may have them by now. Enjoying your videos! Have a great day.
I enjoyed the tour thru your new travel vehicle. But I can't seem to find any videos of your travels in your new RV. Can you tell me how to find them. Thanks.
We have done 2 short runs to check out all the systems and are now on our first extended Quilt Roadie Adventure...so all the upcoming videos will be in the new rig...which we are loving!!!
how do you power your sewing machine? are you plugged in to a 120 volt supply at a campground? Are you converting with an inverter? I assume this is not a 12 volt machine? how do you power the iron? how many watts does your sewing machine need? Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
This past trip I only sewed when we were plugged into a 120 volt supply at a campground. you can convert with an inverter with a good bank of batteries recharged with solar or use a light weight quiet generator. I have no clue about the sewing machine use but G says any generator that can power a microwave will be able to handle a sewing machine. Since our goal is more off grid camping we will be testing these waters and will have videos address quilting off grid :)
So happy to hear someone else does Hawaiian appliqué. Needle turning large appliqués can be difficult for some. DH and I are headed for Sequim, WA later this month to use as a home base for visiting the beautiful Olympics and Victoria BC. May be in La Pine OR later this fall. We are home now in Vancouver WA. We are are rarely home very long before we are itchin to get back on the road!
I am surprised about that itch but G is going to get the RV today and I am giddy! My first Hawaiian appliqué was chosen by Hoffman Fabrics to travel for a year with them in a show and I have been hooked ever since 😀. Have you been to Homestead Quilts in La Pine? Nice shop! Let me know when you are in the neighborhood!
I asked kids for a featherweight 221k that's on Craigslist for mother's day. Guess they forgot. But someday I will get one and maybe see you on the road!!!
Read that book last year and LOVED it. I watched the movie on Netflix, but it was all in foreign language..... I also have that BOM to do. Once I saw all the tiny pieces I shelved it....UFO
such a wonderful book...I tried to watch the movie but stopped because of the subtitles...I can't stitch and watch!! so I will leave for a time I have a cold or something and I'm just vegging. As for that BOM...I finished all the blocks but decided I didn't want to finish it so passed it on to a friend...is that cheating, LOL
Don't you love your Gingher snips? I've got two pairs I like them so much, although I did see you using your scissors, I was wondering about where you ironed but you answered that question, hope you find you mat soon. Safe travels to Monument Valley!
LOL...well his name is Greg but he is called G because our oldest grandson couldn't pronounce grandpa so we told him to call him G and now the little guy calls him G also...and the older one called him grandpa G, LOL
Hi roadies! To store large pieces of fabric put it under the RV mattress! Just use a sheet between the fabric and the base of the bed, fabric shouldn't touch any raw wood that might be used for the base of the bed.
unfortunately for us it won't be good for fabric storage as there is a weird plastic floating grid under the mattress which makes for awesome sleeping but not storage.
I wish...I suppose I could because there is a seat belt on the bench seats...but I would have to figure out how to anchor the sewing machine...hummm...you have given me a thought. I do hand stitch on the road...especially wool!
May I ask I hope this isn’t to personal hon but do you have any American Indian heritage in your family ? You have my mammas eyes and they said I have her eyes ! Lol we are I can’t spell it but we are from our heritage is linked from the Dakotas ! Just saying lol just subscribed liked and I’m going to share !
The hundred year old man who climbed out the window was such a great book. Love your videos too. Cheers!
I LOVED that book...if you liked that one you might like A Man Called Ove....soooo good! Thank you for watching :)
LOVE to see someone so PASSIONATE about their craft!!! Nothing gets in your way of sewing- not even being mobile! thanks for the packing tips; I don't sew but I dabble in other creative techniques!
oh man there are beaders, painters, glass fusing, silversmithing, pottery and woodworking shops here!!
I am watching and listening to these early videos while I sew a quilt
Anna, I think you are adorable, so down to earth. You are my kind of friend. Love all your videos !!!
awww thank you...I am going to tell G and Enzo you think I am adorable, LOL.
You remind me of my mom. she was Inuit. Love luv luuv the idea of quilting on the rod, outside... any place there is lots of color! You go girl.
I love that...when my mom was in Alaska they always thought she was native...well, when you think about it the land was all connected :)
I am enjoying your videos and trying to catch up. Many blessings to you

I have never shipped fabric home...what a clever quilter you are! Going to try and find my Hawaiian block I have been working on for years...

+Carolyn S Cecil I do! I love the sound of that little engine that could, lol. Thank you for coming along on my journeys 😀
Somehow my snips are getting dull wonder if they can be sharpened? I still can't find my cutting/mat slash ironing board so I bought an folding ironing mat at Walmart in Flagstaff...it was under $5😜
You make me smile! :)
+Kate Jorgensen I love that😀💕

Anna, I love your star 🌟 table runner

Cute block😊
I have a featherweight singer machine! And I found the case 3,000 miles away at a thrift store 👍🏽
Sa-Weeet!
I asked kids for a featherweight 221k that's on Craigslist for mother's day. Guess they forgot. But someday I will get one and maybe see you on the road!!!

No....It's practical. And you DID finish the blocks! I bet your friend loved it because it is beautiful, AND most of the work was done.
Don't you love your Gingher snips? I've got two pairs I like them so much, although I did see you using your scissors, I was wondering about where you ironed but you answered that question, hope you find you mat soon.
Safe travels to Monument Valley!
Hi, I am a new subscriber. I love your videos. Does G. mind if we know what the letter G. stand for?
LOL...well his name is Greg but he is called G because our oldest grandson couldn't pronounce grandpa so we told him to call him G and now the little guy calls him G also...and the older one called him grandpa G, LOL
Would you do a tetorial on doing blocks. Maybe your easy way.
I'll add it to my future list!
How do you make a fabric bowls?
There are several different way...and a variety of patterns available. In this Hilde Morin class you use a lot of fusible.
where did you get your t shirts
😀💗 on a cruise I took with Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin and Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings in 2016...so much fun!
❤️
Hi roadies! To store large pieces of fabric put it under the RV mattress! Just use a sheet between the fabric and the base of the bed, fabric shouldn't touch any raw wood that might be used for the base of the bed.

Where there’s a will there’s a way!
What is the name of the BOM you were sewing?
It is the 2015 Designer Mystery BOM by Fat Quarter Shop :)
Do you have trouble concentrating on sewing & listening to a story on tape?
for the most part no...but occasionally there is a book where the number of characters makes me stop and listen rather than sew, lol
Do you sew while your husband is driving?
I wish...I suppose I could because there is a seat belt on the bench seats...but I would have to figure out how to anchor the sewing machine...hummm...you have given me a thought. I do hand stitch on the road...especially wool!
May I ask I hope this isn’t to personal hon but do you have any American Indian heritage in your family ? You have my mammas eyes and they said I have her eyes ! Lol we are I can’t spell it but we are from our heritage is linked from the Dakotas ! Just saying lol just subscribed liked and I’m going to share !
I am not but since once the land was Pangea I bet we all have the same heritage ❤️
