I think this is a great start to improving Franchise Mode. Getting a lot of the moving parts of the mode added, like NMCs and better contract negotiations, is gonna add so much more to the experience. I would still love to see the All Star Game come back. Hopefully they keep improving it like adding in ASW, outdoor games, more presentation in-game, the ability to retire new numbers, among other things.
Yea they added box scores and nhl 14 stats lobby, Contract négociation is Nice but nobody ask for that we want gm connected which college football has and i know mlb also has it and wanted to play older eras of hockey go back to the 80s 90s even the 50s would of been fun

The crazy part is that's already in the game. Your BAP player has his 3D face and not a silhouette. Idk why they did not extend it into franchise mode. (My guess is lazyness like always).

@@redfluff48no you can’t, they have purposely taken options like that out of that game so you give up on all the other modes and play HUT, you know back in NHL 12 you could edit everything about a player? You could edit any player to be 7 feet tall and change their position and everything, these have been SPECIFICALLY taken out of that game so it’s less fun in order to steer the player base towards HUT, it’s a marketing strategy to get people to play the game mode that you spend extra real world money on (card packs).
Oh gosh the player menus that jump you back to the top every time you move a player, or edit a player, rather than leaving you at the spot you were at. So annoying when you do roster editing.
All-Star game, Winter Classic game (generated after year one), simulation and potential revamped, Stanley Cup banner raising year after, 50 players roster, able to pick every teams in Custom League, import our own logos for jerseys and ice visuals, Full control roster option, edit players overall rating during franchise, create new templates for eras (rules, gameplay sliders, player losing helmet, etc.), three stars selection after each games, better comments about point streak, goal streak, etc. Full presentation backkkk! So many things could be implemented back. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
And the ability to edit player ages, that way after the draft you can move players to their proper teams. I have posted lists on the forum last year of things people were asking for. Seriously hope we see some of these. Also ability to sign AHL contracts, and contracts that allow prospects to play overseas, and not count as an NHL contract. For example, Heponiemi is on a Florida Panthers contract so they retain his rights, but he plays in the SHL, which is common practice with prospects. In game, this would count against the team's salaries/contracts, but in reality, it is a different classification of contract, and will not count towards your roster limit, neither do AHL only contracts.
@@GramCrackers13 Well, I like Franchise mode, but I'd prefer to be able to have Full Control. All teams, all AHL, edit players. It's offline mode anyway. Everytime I play I try to have the most accurate roster. Line combo, numbers, captains, etc. So if a trade like Laine vs Harris and 2nd pick occur, I can make it happen without having any problems. Or if Celebrini turns out to be 2nd in scoring and 90 overall rating instead of 80, I also can edit him to reflect more reality.
It’s a new dev team that came in last year. They addressed this and said they are implementing it but it’s a multi year thing. They are going about improving the game in sets of 3 years. Gm connected will most likely be in next years game
Honestly, how many years must we beg you EA? We need connected franchise it would be the most successful game for player retention once it comes out. People give up on HUT and WOC is very repetitive and boring. If you allowed us to have so much creativity with an online franchise mode it would be a MASSIVE HIT!
I think it's time for EA to explore the opportunity to use AI commentators. Imagine how crazy that would be. We would have infinite dialogs possibilities, they could describe more in depth a play and analyze it more deeply too. There's a mod in Skyrim where the NPC are AI voiced and they adapt so well yo what's happening in the game it's crazy, it's limitless opportunities. AI is a game changer and I think it will be the next game changer in sport games.
It's the only mode that the vast majority of NHL gamers care about. Unlike online modes packed full of microtransactions, people play franchise mode long past the games first 6 months.

Also still have text boxes for talking to your players in franchise. Whoopdeedoo!

Playing franchise mode since NHL12, they need to add three-way trades, fix the coaching re-sign phase glitch cuz some coaches decline offers even if you offered em what they want, and an option to scout players until the specific category gets 4-bar scouted
Adding elite players in the draft is stupid bc it's doesn't solve the problem. Goalies and Dmans dont grow. The top end talent isnt the issue it's bottom 6 and top 9 and top 6. They rarely get the nhl thats why the cpu is ending up with a defence core that loos like this after 5-6 years : 89, 86, 80, 79,78,76.
The mode is gonna be 80% conversations now… this is awful. its gonna take hours to do negotiations and set goals for every player and coach ffs. looks like im sticking to 24
You don’t HAVE to do any of that. The only part where it’s really necessary is free agency, which is the most realistic and probably the most fun part of all the conversation options this year.
I mean it’s not bad additions. But how are the menus still laggy? When scrolling through players on like any menu the game struggles to keep up. It’s almost 2025….
Ya, why not add more logos, change your name after X years, same with logo, add more cities, add more goal horn options, add custom songs, that's what'd be nice!
What bothers me in previous NHL Franchise modes is when your rebuilding. Got the coach you want. But the player you draft doesnt fit the team. Which is annoying as hell. You got to fire the coach and change the prospects/players etc… why cant you draft the player and let him develop into the system. So he can fit into the team through time like lets say 2-3 years. Looks like they havent fixed that yet.
Here’s my Franchise Mode wishlist for the next game: • Add the ECHL to franchise mode (Ability to play as the ECHL affiliate and even change ECHL affiliates as well as send prospects down to the ECHl affiliate) • Add the prospect tourney and training camp • Add the ability to sign players to PTO for training camp of sign to a PTO to fill in for a few games for an injury if you don’t want to bring any AHL guy up • Add the ability to make a Future Considerations trade and then complete said trade at any later date of the season • Add a banner raising ceremony after your team wins the division, conference, or Stanley cup • Ability to send players down the the AHL for conditioning stints • Ability to trade/trade for conditional draft picks • Add the All Star Game/ All Star Break festivities • Add private team events randomly through the season and offseason
Why isn’t there just a base line setting in edit lines? Why are you making the user have 20 conversations in the coaches screen, forcing people to use a feature that no one wants to use and hasn’t used in years

As somebody who plays offline mainly, these are some solid changes. That said, I have this question. Can you actually move through all of this smoothly, or is there still going to be lag spikes when simply switching screens, or hitting A/X to start a game? Also, have y'all fixed the save system? Because it's also been terrible for years.
Lots of positive changes that will add levels and immersion to the game.Really excited to play. One feature I’ve really been wanting would be the ability to see your GM stats Upon retirement. Your win loss record, awards your teams and players won. Trades (like total number of players and picks moved in and out). Total contract dollars signed. I play this game slowly and only run 2-3 franchises by the time the next game comes out and I can’t remember everything. Keeping notes myself is kind of annoying but that’s what I do right now.
EA is finally starting to listen!!! I'm mainly a franchise mode player, these changes excite me. They could have done better with the menu cause its the same as Be a Pro, but all the other changes are great!
@@lgrif1065 yes for sure. Computer AI teams never recall guys from the A, and just like rebuilding teams sign all the old free agents instead of playing their prospects. The GM AI is horrible, hopefully they have improved that. Being saying this for years

Honestly great step in the right direction for real all the stats and box score stuff is amazing work. , now we just need in game presentation to go back to full / closer to tv and we golden :)
Looks promising. But most important thing for me is to not have the super laggy slow menus on PS5 (from what i've heard its not such a big problem on xbox). It seems the core of the whole UI is the same so i guess it will still be extremely laggy and slow and considering that they added many more stats and things into the UI i fear it will be even more laggy and slow on my PS5. So even though i really like most of the things showed in this deep dive, i will not be satisfied until they fix the menus (so i guess complete rework because there must be obviously something very wrong deep down in the current code)
I think most of the change is great, apart from the conversations. You guys are trying to push the conversation dynamic into everything too much. Why do we need to have a conversation with the coach just to save lines, why can’t we have the option to save lines ourselves and have different lines already saved that we can switch to?
i like the UI changes like not having to flip through multiple screens to find out if a player wants to extend at the end of a contract, matchups, team leaders, etc.. Not at all a fan of more conversations. i dont want to have to convince a player verbally to join my team, throwing more money at them has always worked before, why do i have to promise them a spot on PP1 or give out NMC to a rental at the deadline, lets say? or have them not join because my fanbase is smaller than they want it to be or slightly less devoted. makes thing more complicated and i don't think anyone asked for more conversations with AI where they make stupid requests that don't help the team or get pissy when you assign them to a role that fits their potential but they're like "wHy Am I nOt On ThE fIrSt LiNe?!" "i WaNt MoAr IcE tImE!" this is why in previous games i always turn morale meetings off.
this is a step in the right direction for EA. i know HUT is their money maker, and now WOC is starting to be a second channel for that, but i really hope they revamp Be A Pro. Im tired of the same cutscenes. I want them to add an NCAA route, new ratings logic, new free agency logic, new trade logic, and no more pricey pond hockey please!

A.I Generated players need headshots for their player screen. Such a small change that would make franchise mode so much better when you’re 10+ years in and most of your players are generated by the game. Instead we just have to look at grey heads when editing lines and checking stats
Why are there basically zero cut-scenes in these games? Would be so cool if you had contract negotiations and new signing cut-scenes like in the FIFA/FC series.
I've stopped buying yearly games. I don't play online. I'm not falling for that trap that makes them all this money. They have ignored this mode for too long. This is make it or break it for me. If you want me to buy it impress me.
This series desperately needs a year or two off. No way did they just make the most irritating aspect of Be A Pro, the biggest addition to Franchise! The conversations wouldn’t be a bad idea, if it felt like the characters actually had a personality. But it’s all smoke and mirrors and shallow depth. Game went from a week one must have years ago to a Black Friday bargain bin game.
Would love to add trade conditions to franchise mode. Like it would be great to see a pick go to a different year based on how far a team progressed in the playoffs, or to protect a lottery pick. So far this is pretty great and it looks a lot more snappy but I would like to see some more redundancy removed with some of these menus. For instance, it seems like a lot of menu hoping to set and change the coaches preferred lines. Additionally it would be cool to see some more generic options for how you want your lines to be played from the coach such as chemistry focused, offensive focused, defensive focused, youth focused, veteran focused or play-style focused. So depending on any of those players will be deployed in much different roles
Last year, they claimed that a NEW GM CONNECTED was to be expected for NHL 25... Where is it? When is it? ... I can feel the lack of effort transpiring through every release since 2015!
they never said it would be expected for NHL 25. They said they are looking at implementing a new form of connecting into a future game. This year they already confirmed 25 wasn't that game so most likely NHL 26 is my guess. I am ok to wait as long as they make it work 100% out of the gate.
Finally I can persuade McDavid to join my team for unlimited chicken nuggets and a max contract of 0.50cents for 10 years

Playing franchise mode since NHL12, they need to add three-way trades, fix the coaching re-sign phase glitch cuz some coaches decline offers even if you offered em what they want, and an option to scout players until the specific category gets 4-bar scouted
Adding elite players in the draft is stupid bc it's doesn't solve the problem. Goalies and Dmans dont grow. The top end talent isnt the issue it's bottom 6 and top 9 and top 6. They rarely get the nhl thats why the cpu is ending up with a defence core that loos like this after 5-6 years : 89, 86, 80, 79,78,76.
The mode is gonna be 80% conversations now… this is awful. its gonna take hours to do negotiations and set goals for every player and coach ffs. looks like im sticking to 24
You don’t HAVE to do any of that. The only part where it’s really necessary is free agency, which is the most realistic and probably the most fun part of all the conversation options this year.

I mean it’s not bad additions. But how are the menus still laggy? When scrolling through players on like any menu the game struggles to keep up. It’s almost 2025….

What bothers me in previous NHL Franchise modes is when your rebuilding. Got the coach you want. But the player you draft doesnt fit the team. Which is annoying as hell. You got to fire the coach and change the prospects/players etc… why cant you draft the player and let him develop into the system. So he can fit into the team through time like lets say 2-3 years. Looks like they havent fixed that yet.
Here’s my Franchise Mode wishlist for the next game:
• Add the ECHL to franchise mode (Ability to play as the ECHL affiliate and even change ECHL affiliates as well as send prospects down to the ECHl affiliate)
• Add the prospect tourney and training camp
• Add the ability to sign players to PTO for training camp of sign to a PTO to fill in for a few games for an injury if you don’t want to bring any AHL guy up
• Add the ability to make a Future Considerations trade and then complete said trade at any later date of the season
• Add a banner raising ceremony after your team wins the division, conference, or Stanley cup
• Ability to send players down the the AHL for conditioning stints
• Ability to trade/trade for conditional draft picks
• Add the All Star Game/ All Star Break festivities
• Add private team events randomly through the season and offseason

Why isn’t there just a base line setting in edit lines? Why are you making the user have 20 conversations in the coaches screen, forcing people to use a feature that no one wants to use and hasn’t used in years
Just turn off “head coach edits lines” and it won’t be there.

@@iancohen343 well if you have injuries on and don’t wanna micro manage then you gotta do the coach convos at the beginning of the season. Otherwise just turn the edits lines and injuries setting off

Franchise mode rn is solid it coild improve with things like college scouting, real coaches, a all star game, winter classics and stadium series games and way way more

As somebody who plays offline mainly, these are some solid changes. That said, I have this question. Can you actually move through all of this smoothly, or is there still going to be lag spikes when simply switching screens, or hitting A/X to start a game? Also, have y'all fixed the save system? Because it's also been terrible for years.
Lots of positive changes that will add levels and immersion to the game.Really excited to play. One feature I’ve really been wanting would be the ability to see your GM stats Upon retirement. Your win loss record, awards your teams and players won. Trades (like total number of players and picks moved in and out). Total contract dollars signed. I play this game slowly and only run 2-3 franchises by the time the next game comes out and I can’t remember everything. Keeping notes myself is kind of annoying but that’s what I do right now.
This is honestly a decent start but we NEED CONNECTED FRANCHISE!!!

These are some pretty significant POSITIVE changes that we’ve been waiting for. I’m all in and looking to get the new game for the first time in years

EA is finally starting to listen!!! I'm mainly a franchise mode player, these changes excite me. They could have done better with the menu cause its the same as Be a Pro, but all the other changes are great!
Honestly a 10/10 deep dive, best trailer they’ve ever done!
PLEASE more in depth chl careers. memorial cup winners, just accurate stat tracking all around.

Will the computer AI finally call up players from the AHL? 6 call ups in an entire season between 31 teams is so unrealistic
did you have injuries on? if not then they don't really have a reason to call people up unless the AHL players grow in overall
@@lgrif1065 yes for sure. Computer AI teams never recall guys from the A, and just like rebuilding teams sign all the old free agents instead of playing their prospects. The GM AI is horrible, hopefully they have improved that. Being saying this for years

Extremely underwhelming after hearing the franchise mode hyped up.
How? We got contract negotiations, clauses, better stat tracking, and better roster editing.
I'm primarily a franchise mode player. These changes and additions are exactly the kind of thing I've been asking for. Thank you guys for listening. I think I may actually pre order the game just from the changes in this video
Honestly great step in the right direction for real all the stats and box score stuff is amazing work. , now we just need in game presentation to go back to full / closer to tv and we golden :)
Looks promising. But most important thing for me is to not have the super laggy slow menus on PS5 (from what i've heard its not such a big problem on xbox). It seems the core of the whole UI is the same so i guess it will still be extremely laggy and slow and considering that they added many more stats and things into the UI i fear it will be even more laggy and slow on my PS5. So even though i really like most of the things showed in this deep dive, i will not be satisfied until they fix the menus (so i guess complete rework because there must be obviously something very wrong deep down in the current code)
I’ll reserve judgement until I play but this gives the impression that franchise mode is basically a dating sim now lol

I think most of the change is great, apart from the conversations. You guys are trying to push the conversation dynamic into everything too much. Why do we need to have a conversation with the coach just to save lines, why can’t we have the option to save lines ourselves and have different lines already saved that we can switch to?

i like the UI changes like not having to flip through multiple screens to find out if a player wants to extend at the end of a contract, matchups, team leaders, etc.. Not at all a fan of more conversations. i dont want to have to convince a player verbally to join my team, throwing more money at them has always worked before, why do i have to promise them a spot on PP1 or give out NMC to a rental at the deadline, lets say? or have them not join because my fanbase is smaller than they want it to be or slightly less devoted. makes thing more complicated and i don't think anyone asked for more conversations with AI where they make stupid requests that don't help the team or get pissy when you assign them to a role that fits their potential but they're like "wHy Am I nOt On ThE fIrSt LiNe?!" "i WaNt MoAr IcE tImE!" this is why in previous games i always turn morale meetings off.
first thing im doing is taking everyones first round picks! LOL
this is a step in the right direction for EA. i know HUT is their money maker, and now WOC is starting to be a second channel for that, but i really hope they revamp Be A Pro. Im tired of the same cutscenes. I want them to add an NCAA route, new ratings logic, new free agency logic, new trade logic, and no more pricey pond hockey please!

@@Ben.Mangels well i remember in the madden long shot mode you briefly played college (for a select number of teams to pick from with fake players) when they stopped making NCAA games. maybe the new NIL stuff won't allow NHL to do that. maybe in the future it could be an option.
EA doesn't respect their customers. Blatantly ignoring our call for certain changes to the game only to add things we didn't ask for is an absolute spit in the face. The presentation and gameplay will continue to be terrible

A.I Generated players need headshots for their player screen. Such a small change that would make franchise mode so much better when you’re 10+ years in and most of your players are generated by the game. Instead we just have to look at grey heads when editing lines and checking stats

Why are there basically zero cut-scenes in these games? Would be so cool if you had contract negotiations and new signing cut-scenes like in the FIFA/FC series.

I've stopped buying yearly games. I don't play online. I'm not falling for that trap that makes them all this money. They have ignored this mode for too long. This is make it or break it for me. If you want me to buy it impress me.

This series desperately needs a year or two off. No way did they just make the most irritating aspect of Be A Pro, the biggest addition to Franchise! The conversations wouldn’t be a bad idea, if it felt like the characters actually had a personality. But it’s all smoke and mirrors and shallow depth. Game went from a week one must have years ago to a Black Friday bargain bin game.

Would love to add trade conditions to franchise mode. Like it would be great to see a pick go to a different year based on how far a team progressed in the playoffs, or to protect a lottery pick. So far this is pretty great and it looks a lot more snappy but I would like to see some more redundancy removed with some of these menus. For instance, it seems like a lot of menu hoping to set and change the coaches preferred lines. Additionally it would be cool to see some more generic options for how you want your lines to be played from the coach such as chemistry focused, offensive focused, defensive focused, youth focused, veteran focused or play-style focused. So depending on any of those players will be deployed in much different roles

Last year, they claimed that a NEW GM CONNECTED was to be expected for NHL 25... Where is it? When is it? ... I can feel the lack of effort transpiring through every release since 2015!

they never said it would be expected for NHL 25. They said they are looking at implementing a new form of connecting into a future game. This year they already confirmed 25 wasn't that game so most likely NHL 26 is my guess. I am ok to wait as long as they make it work 100% out of the gate.

In free agency should be able to see the contracts that other teams have offered the players as a reference point to what would be needed to sign them
