It's just interesting to think how this game is some kid's first Mario & Luigi game, *this* is what they're going to be nostalgic for in 10-15 years... From the sounds of things, seems like it's not a bad place for them to start, and I'm really glad that NIntendo decided it was worth reviving this series for the new generation. Here's hoping this won't be the end!
The thing about it for me is that the game using 3D models to resemble the art style was bound to happen one way or another as Dream Team and Paper Jam had utilised them before so it doesn’t come as much as a surprise and I think that it is a much more cost effective way of making new animations for the characters. At the same time however, I think that would have been interesting if they used the sprites that AlphaDream made for the 3DS titles and continue with the thing of having the sprites move around the 3D backgrounds but with the backgrounds being detailed, bit like The Peanuts Movie.
I enoyed the first 3 hours, the combat was very simple but the exploration and meeting new characters was worth it. Yep, tutorials felt excessive, but not as excessive as Dream Team. I can even argue that tutorials were less annoying here than in Origami King.
Hoping the Switch 2 can handle the game better and have very slow wait times. I'd love if entering and exiting battles were almost instant. I also wish animations in battle were quicker. Maybe give a hard mode option so that standard attacks are quicker and tighter. And just let us fast forward bros attacks during the big finish. Also, I would like to be able to cancel an attack after doing enough damage to kill the enemies I'm attacking. What Brothership lacks is flow. Add that flow in, and the game would be so much more fun. Still love the game, but those little things could improve it so much.
The game for me was a mixed bag, there’s a lot about it I loved most in the series, and there’s things where I found the other entires did better. If we do get another entry, I’d love to see them improve on the games only downsides, because this games upsides are so unforgettable, and truly make the overall experience great.
I don't get how people complain about the tutorials when the tutorials are the quickest they've ever been in the series. You can get through the tutorial faster than you can complain about it.
There's just a lot of them and a lot of the time they are explained more than once which makes it repetitive no matter how fast you can get through them.
@@ThatGuyWhoGames well, at least most of the battle tutorials are JUST easily skippable pop-up's, instead of Toadsworth walking up to you, asking if you know how to battle, then freezing the game right before you're about to jump on the enemy so he can say "Hey, y'know you can press A right now to do more damage, right?" then asking if you know how to dodge, then asking if you know how to counter, and THEN explaining how the level up system works, so while there may be quite a lot of them, at LEAST most of them are faster to get through than other games
It's mostly the cause of unrealengine that can't handle the switch stable framerates. Yes, the engine is the issue to why load times take ages to happen when you start a new battle. I Hope You Understand 8:45
Well, personally, the beginning being slow was my only major complaint about the game. After getting past the first handful of hours, it gets way better, and I honestly think that it reaches unprecedented heights in certain aspects. Also, those first few hours can be sped up quite a bit by using the fast forward feature, which is greatly appreciated. Playing through the game again, I could reach the point of getting the first bros moves after a couple hours, rather than 3-4. Yeah, I could nitpick a bunch of other minor flaws like the loading screens, performance issues, slightly less bosses than usual, lack of a postgame, etc. However, at the end of the day, you can tell that they cared a lot about this game and did everything they could to make it a strong return, even if there may have been some mistakes along the way. It's honestly quite a shame when people decide to just bail after the first few hours, because it means they're missing out.
Yeah has someone who grew up with the series I’m glad it’s back and lives up to the hype… it’s the best game since bowser’s inside story(I like dream team but way too slow) I hope the next game has wario and waluigi in it… so it can spice up the game play
really the whole thing? Because It's been growing on me more and more. I will always say the first 3 games are peak but this one feels like what the fourth entry should've been
@@ThatGuyWhoGames I started liking it after the first boss fight to unlocking the second lighthouse but after it I just felt like it was trying fill up time (and I liked all 5 of the games)
@@wyattscates7303 Kind of curious what you mean when you say it's just trying to fill up time. For me, it really was just the beginning where it felt like the game was meandering. I think it just gets better and better from there.
@@Miccat87 It’s stuff like whenever the islands split up again after the cannonball, having to go to jellyfish island to get another scientist, after fighting lord zocket not being able to fight the other guy until much later

Love it or hate it, I'm still glad it exists, the next Mario and Luigi must fix the pacing issues of Brothership.

I love the life out of this game but MAN it’s begging for that switch 2 YESTERDAY.
Great vid! Picking the game up for Christmas, I’m a little concerned but I’m hoping I enjoy it
It will grow on you as you play, the game while having pacing issues does have excellent writing and gameplay

One of the main flaws is Starlow being in it. The fact she’s barely there makes up for it. She’s overstayed her welcome at this point.
true and snoutlet respects luigi alot and mario
The whole battle loading thing kinda caused me to not want to fight every enemy I see, which I did in partners in time and superstar saga.

I don't think dream tame had long loding between battles. They were buliding up to said battles
Did you end up finishing the game?
I am working on it!
I actually haven't played brothership. I feel like this has been a rather lackluster for switch. Especially since the 3ds had a big fan resurgence.
Yup, I sure hope the next Mario and Luigi game doesn't have a exposition hell. Overall 7/10
I’m glad people can have fun with brothership, but after playing all of it it was disappointing and I wanted to play the old games again

@@wyattscates7303 To be fair other Mario and Luigi's have a "filling up time" part anyways. Beanstar, Miracle Cure, Paper Toads. It happens.
I fell off after about 12-15 hours. IT was super fun, but it was the same thing over and over for that 15 hours.
I hate you minecraft the 3ds version is horrible tem worst versionand not the best version this version is bad
Y’all are in the WRONG VIDEO!
