Your favorite is still intact, so many of them look jacked up! especially 701! Can't wait to see vids of it when u finish, I'm going to have to get the HHP-8 train set...
Just yesterday I had to go to Scarborough early in the morning so when I was at Croton-Harmon waiting for the train I was expecting an M7A electric train but instead a Genesis diesel showed up and it stopped at Scarborough. That was the first time I have ever seen a diesel stopping at a local stop like Scarborough! No one has caught that on tape.
Wow! I've only taken M7 locals to & from Scarborough, or ridden past on an M7 Express train. That is rare! I've never seen a Genesis diesel stop at local stations. But if you look at the schedule the late night trains look like diesels(take 11 or more min from Harlem-125 st to Grand Central, M7's need only 10min) and make all stops. In the morning rush there are a bunch of diesel express trains that have a varying assortment of stops after Croton-Harmon before they go express to Harlem-125 st
Oh this could be true although I remember asking a conductor if there were any trains that run from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central making all stops and he said "no". But you may be right because I checked the MTA schedule. A 6 AM train leaves Cold Spring and arrives at Hastings-on-Hudson (to use random stations) at 6:49 AM. That may be a diesel.
Late night trains are normally M7As because I've taken them. The 1:50 AM train from Grand Central to Croton-Harmon is a local train making all stops to Croton-Harmon where a diesel shuttle is waiting to take passengers to Poughkeepsie.
Thanks, one side you see & hear the train coming from miles away, the other u don't see the train approach u have to hear it. Whenever there is a meet I can never tell there is a train behind, I hate that!
Can't wait to see it, some of the Amtrak P32's are bruised up, "jacked up" is just slang for got effed up! I think they need to be fixed, they are not crash worthy, considering is a slight chance they may hit something, like a tree limb?
Was stuck in West Virginia due to a storm, had fallen trees in front & in back of it, anyways the Cardinal is the slowest way to get to Chicago, I'd a took the LSL
It's ridiculous, you'd have to board the Cardinal at 6:45am while the Lake Shore leaves at 3:45pm, both arrive about an hour apart in Chicago along with the Capitol Limited (3 something out of DC). Still I'd love to see all of those parts along this trip. I think the Cardinal goes through some low grade freight tracks going 35-50 mph through many winding parts of its journey
Yeah a tree at 110mph would make the news, & the Cardinal just did. Maybe in the yard? they look like slow collisions, but between another big heavy object, though a smaller object at really high speed would do it do, maybe a small deer or animal?
I did, I've never gotten so much horn, so friendly up here? 710 is the first one I saw but I've seen 702 the most, & I feel for it cracked exterior! btw, this place must scary during full moon high tide!
I meant the late nights headed to Grand Central from Poughkeepsie, it's a through train making all stops, and takes it time too according to the schedule. An M7A would travel faster than the schedule shows
