- Hey guys! Today I am sharing with you the makeup products that did NOT work for me in 2022. From chalky eyeshadows and a poor coverage foundation to a great product that just has terrible packaging, I will go through it all today! Bite Beauty closed their cosmetics line. They still have their lip labs in some cities, but no more retail cosmetics. I miss them.
I bought the Bite Beauty mascara at TJ Maxx after they started their liquidation and I shouldn't have. I absolutely love it. I need to find a dupe for it. I found the Morphe x Coca Cola mascara to be similar but I don't want to support Morphe anymore. So I'm in the same boat as Mandy. Does anyone have a good Bite Beauty mascara dupe?
I really miss the bite beauty lip products! Their crayon style lipsticks were such a favourite for me.
Let the rare beauty mascara dry out some then try again. I didn’t like it at first either. Now I love it. Gives volume and length after it’s been open awhile
In my experience, mini tubes of mascara don't perform the same as the full-size tubes. Not sure if it's because they dry out faster (before you even buy them) or the wand doesn't work the same way. I really like the Rare Beauty mascara. You might not even in a full-size tube, though! Happy Christmas 🎄
I don’t know if this applies to the new formula of Face & Body but Sharon Farrell had a special technique for applying it where you emulsify it in your hands until it no longer feels slippy. This bumps up the coverage. I know she mentioned it in multiple videos.

Maybe try a spice drawer insert that will tilt bottles.
I had the same issue with the pump on the nars foundation.
Great video! Your makeup looks so beautiful today! I absolutely love the Rare Beauty liquid blush, almost the only thing I’ve used all year since I’ve tried them. I have like 7 colors!
I got a couple new shades recently and I love them too, specifically the dewy ones. The matte ones are too patchy for me but the dewy ones are so nice.
10:18 Just save the pumps you like when you're finished and move product to the good containers.
I swapped my flower foundation pump with my Nars foundation pump lol. I don't use the flower one as often.... although it does dispense more product than the Nars one, but Im a bit more careful when I'm pressing it down. 😁
I have the same problem with my Nars light reflecting foundation too, and I thought it was just me! Such a beautiful foundation but so messy!

I got the hot pink hard candy quad and I like it I’ve been using the maybelline tattoo cream shadow as primer for my shadows and I’ve been happy with the results
My NARS and ABH foundations don’t leak, but the pumps on both are messed up (when I push it down, the pump doesn’t come back up by itself). I have two shades of the NARS and only one of them does this. I’m on my second bottle of the ABH, and both pumps have done this.
My worst product fail was the TF Better Than Chocolate palette. They changed the formula and it was awful! I didn’t even bother to buy the pumpkin one this year. I tried the Sigma New Mod palette and really liked it, so I Black Friday bought their Warm Neutrals, Ambiance, and Cor de Rosa pallets. They are so awesome 🤩
And yet another reason I abandoned traditional foundations long ago in favor of mineral powders and tinted sunscreens. No mess with gunky, goopy bottles. Just screw-top jars or squeeze tubes. PS My favorite Christmas song is "Christmas Wrap" (or "Wrapping"?) by the Waitresses. Warped, funny, and oh so memorable!

Try K. blush as an under eye setting powder. Since it’s pink it might be brightening
I'm only part way through this video, but I want to say that the ABH foundation pump leaks when the bottles are stored upright, too. 😐

I must have different tastes then everyone else because I LOVE the sigma formula. Sigma and Nars are my favorite eyeshadow formulas. I’ve decluttered most of my Natasha denona and pat McGrath palettes which seem to be everyone else’s favorite. 🤷🏻♀️

I absolutely LOVE that ABH foundation. It is absolutely phenomenal. I’m finding that their products are pretty top notch. Very impressed.

I actually liked the Mac sheer radiance foundation. I knew it was light coverage going in, which is what I wanted. Never tried any of their original formula, so it didn't bother me or feel like I missed out.
Time for new Cabinet with deeper drawers to stand them up. BTW you look absolutely Stunning today! wow pretty eyes, hair and your complexion is 💣 did you do something with your brows? look so good...love it!
NOT impressed with Morphe. I like Colourpop SO much better.
My biggest disapointment was the new MUFE foundation aswell as the Shiseido synchro skin foundations (matte and dewy)… they look awful on me 🥲
I have the original Makin Bank (what a stupid name) and I think it’s much better than what you have. Some of my colors look a bit different than what you held up. But, I have gotten rid of all of the other Morphe palettes I’ve had except for JH.
Mandy- on the 4 n 1 perfecter I just completely removed the sponge & apply with my fingers or a brush. I absolutely hated the sponge tip as well! ❤

Hi Mandy. Thank you for making such fun videos. I've been using the Maybelline 4in 1 primer and love it. Though I did remove the whole sponge applicator and just click it up to get the product out. Also, I've been using your curly hair styling routine and have never loved my wavy hair more. You are so fun to watch. Live the outtakes in every video
Absolutely best part of the video is you singing at the end...made me giggle, OK let's be honest, made me snort!
There is definitely something wrong with the Nars pumps cause both of mine are stored upright and both pumps have messed up. Both ooze out the sides and gunks up in the pump.

Jessica's hair is very pretty but the difference may be that she doesn't normally color her hair (she just did for the first time). Virgin hair reacts differently to products than colored or permed hair.
On the leaky foundations, do you have room to put the angled props for kitchen spices in your drawer?
Can you let us know if you find a hair oil that you luv? I seem to have the same issue. I keep buying; looking for the “one”!
I have a really light powder blush essentially no show. I use it over cream blush to set it. It’s a way to use it up and seems to not alter the cream color like regular powder
My big fail its the Urban decay , naked cyber palette , no pigment at all. Totally desapointed

I also love, love the Nars foundation, but my pump isn’t great, either. I use it almost daily, though!

I haven’t been a fan of morphe products for years now, but I did pick up the new No silent nights palette. I have to say I was very surprised by the quality of that palette. It’s actually not bad. I bought it on sale for $13.50 and for me it was worth it.

On Dec 13 2022,
Bite ceased to exist for good.
However they are now going by Lip-Lab a brick and mortar only store.
Not sure if they will do online, haven't done digging yet. I loved Bite when they came out in 2012. Then they disappeared and came back in 2014 after "Kendo brands " acquired them. Long story short I hope Lip-Labs kept their formula and subtle scent and earthy colors. I will let you know if I try out Lip-lab. You can find an article about it but you have to do som digging. Thanks 🙏💓 Merry Christmas 🎄 . P.S. I love the color of your blouse , I can never find that color.
I guess my biggest fail of the year was the Sexy Mother Pucker lippy from Soap & Glory; it's beautiful but it burned my sensitive lips so bad, I can't wear it. And I totally hated the waterproof Sea Curl mascara by Tarte, it just didn't show up on me enough to be worth wearing and wasn't waterproof on me, just hard to remove; I keep it in my purse makeup bag for touch-ups, but I'll probably declutter it soon.
The soap&glory lip product was a fail for me too - I don’t understand why everyone loved them way back when….
The Rare Beauty is my favorite mascara of 2022 😊
I have horse hay hair too! I’ve been liking the Virtue hair oil - try it and see what you think!
I have kept the nude stix tin too. I’ve put qtips in for traveling.

Looks like Bite Beauty closed up shop sometime this summer. Cosmetics companies are like every industry I guess- finding it hard to make a profit during trying times.

I broke my NARS foundation pump. So I can’t complain about it being messy. I bought a cream Tarte blush. I love the color. But I can’t seem to apply it “well”. But will continue to try.

If you're on the hunt for a good but inexpensive lip balm, try the Essence Volumizing Collagen Vegan Lip Balm.
I haven't tried that but I do like the Burt's Bees tinted lip balm.
Ive been using Anastasia Beverly Hills luminous foundation for 2 years now, bought recently a new bottle and nothing ever leaked at all. Pump was fine too. I keep it standing on my makeup shelf and everything is fine. Never heard from anyone it leaked, so weird.
I have 2 Anastasia Luminous foundations and they BOTH do that and I store mine upright. I hate it lol
Mandy I have a sister that has the curly hair like yours, you guys have beautiful hair, mine has always been very straight.

The nars pumps are awful! Awful! Secondly, we pay enough for a high end foundation. Why aren't some of them including pumps??? They actually have the nerve to charge for them. Even my Mac setting spray clogs. Insane 🥴😵💫
Mac Face and Body is DEFINITELY not the same formula. Ughhhhh why do they always lieeeeee 😡

You didn’t get a bad batch of the NARS foundation. Like you, I have to store my laying down
& what a mess!!! So it’s the one thing on top of my makeup table. Really disappointing.
I have the Sigma enchanted mini palette and HATE IT. The first and last palette I will try from that brand. Shimmers are horrible with tons of fallout and no color pay off dry or wet
I feel the same way about those Christmas songs! My dad asked why I'm always switching between two Christmas stations, and I told him there are just certain songs that are fingernails on a chalkboard to me. That's from someone that adores Christmas music!
🌸🌸🌸 Bite Beauty bit the big one for good this time. Lip labs are open but no more Bite retail. My fail….and I know I am in the minority, is the Fenty lip gloss! I got a Sephora fav kit with one in it and the ‘taste’ was vile! I couldn’t get it off my lips fast enough. I returned the entire set and went to ‘smell’ the testers in store and ,oh just gross. I don’t understand why everyone likes them! Lifter glosses sooooo much better. Your look today is beautiful, hope you and your family are enjoying the holidays! xx🌸🌸🌸

I guess I didn't notice a bad smell, but I've never had a gloss bleed out of my lip lines like the Fenty. I agree, Lifter is better 👍

I store all of my foundation upright on a bookshelf that houses some of my makeup and my brush collection. I find they just stay cleaner that way.
Exaclty lol, I have just commented about same. I like my makeup being clean and tidy. It also comes down to who and how uses it, not just the bottle itself.
If the foundation is open, I store it upright. If I haven't opened it yet, it's sideways in the back of my drawer.
The original face and body is VERY sheer too. You need maybe 4-5 layers to build to medium coverage. I haven’t tried the new formula yet.
It's definitely a flaw in the foundation because no brand could seriously intend for their foundation to be stored standing up! Most people with a normal sized makeup collection will keep their foundation in a makeup bag! And the rest of us makeup addicts we will put it in a bag for travel. I could find my perfect foundation at a price of free and I wouldn't thank you for that packaging!
Bite closed down apart from their shops where you can go to customise your own lip product! Xx
Hey there! I have the same issue with both pumps of those foundations you mentioned, and you should NOT feel that the issue is you! Those two pumps leak on me, and also do not perform well when I am trying to get foundation out of the bottles. My NARS foundation pump stopped working completely after the third time I used it. My point? I store them UPRIGHT! Sigh! Thanks for being a light in a dull day for me!🎉

The Milk Makeup Future Fluid concealer was by far the worst product I tried this year on my mature under eyes. Also, I think Bite Beauty has gone out of business.
Everyone has the pump issue with those two high end foundations. So frustrating!

Unfortunately bit beauty has exited the market. I think they still have their bite beauty lip bars.

Do you use a leave in conditioner after you wash your hair? It locks in the moisture before it dries completely. It may help with the "hay hair" lol

I have both of those foundations. I store them upright and both of them still look like yours. They are a mess.
I forget who shared this, but the trick with those Nudestix blushes is to dab a damp sponge on the stick, then apply to cheeks. It looks incredibly natural.
Please, please find a way to store your foundations in an upright position. 🤗
