When Eminem says he had a bad album is comparing to the huge sales he used to have back then. Anyway for Eminem a Bad album is triple platinum or plus. Eminem lost many supporters when he gone against Trump. Eminem has been raw and transparent since day one and that's why we respect him a lot and stay loyal. Portugal here for the Goat Eminem always since day one and forever. Thanks for reacting. Salutes and respect.
Hope you continue your Eminem journey, I think you will find that he was never just "Hype". I like that you say you're a hater, yet admit songs you have heard were "fire". That isn't a hater, they never admit if they were wrong. The reference to the "sourpuss" line was about his Revival project where he barred super hard on several songs but people were negative in reviews about production, features, and even how "woke" his bars were. Also the cypher bars and "Agent Orange" bars were about his BET Cypher where he "dissed Trump" and lost "fans" that were drinking the Trump kool aid, and Trump sending the Secret Service to check up on him after the cypher.
I can see people not liking Em until this album came out.. but any true hip hop head has to admit thAt Kamikazi is hip hop genius! This album moves Em to my top 3. This album is pure fire!
For me as a hip-hop fan who loves this genre of music & always has since I was a baby. Eminem randomly dropping an entire album (Kamikaze) to respond to all the haters who were running their mouth will forever be my favorite hip-hop moment of all time. He legit shook up the entire game & just reminded mfs who he is because they seemed to think it was safe to fuck with him like as if he had fallen off. But nope, his 46 year old ass reminded everyone that they still cant touch him.
Some context will help ya. Em dropped an album in 2013 and went on a 4 year break, so people were eager to listen to his next project. In 2017, he came back and did a BET Cypher just a month before dropping his new album called Revival. In the Cypher, he destroyed Trump and said "fuck you" to the fans that support Trump. That caused an uproar and divided his fan base. What that also did was kinda set him up for failure. The tracklist came out and everybody shit on it just by looking at the features. All this combined, Revival received negative response upon release. To this day it's considered one of Em's worst album in recent times. To be fair, the production and flows on that album weren't the best, but other factors contributed to its negative reception. The lyrical ability was always there though. Pretty much everybody shit on it, including the fans and critics. That pissed him the fuck off. It lit a fire under his ass and just after 7 months of Revival's release, he came back with Kamikaze where he ripped apart all the critics and haters. This song is the first song off of that album. He's been pissed off ever since. Check out Not Alike and Lucky You from this album too. You'll love it.
Everybody always forgets about Shady XV It was released a year after Marshal Mathers Lp 2 in 2014 But to be fair there was only a few new songs And at the time I didn’t really like it but then it grew on me
@@myfatassdick Oh yeah you're right! My bad, I completely forgot about ShadyXV. Ironically it has one of my most favorite Em songs of all time, Guts Over Fear. I guess people usually forget it because it's not a solo studio album, more like a compilation album.

EM is the epitome of a person who works best when pushed against the wall. He has produced his best when challenged / taunted etc. I’m sure he was / is salivating for someone to step up. Unfortunately he’s quite honestly too good and most won’t take the chance. The few that have quickly regret it.
That's why I LOVE your reactions, I'm born in 1977, our generation is the start of gangster rap, and real Lyrical Rap.. RAP means Rythm And Poetry, and our Generation killed it !!
Basically Em put out Revival where he talked about adult content and sounded mature. He wasnt rappin about childish shit like he tends to do but important shit and everybody shitted on him for it. The album wasnt a flop, it went platinum at the time, but it didnt perform as well as Em albums usually do. So this album (Kamikaze) was like his reply to all the hate. He said F it and decided to just go after any and everody. He basically challenged the whole rap industry and put everybody on notice that they can get it if they want to. And thats the enegy he keeps on this album as well as Music to be Murdered By and Music to be Murdered by Side B. He had a song Called Chloraseptic (Remix) that dropped right before this album did and that song was like a warning letting everyone know what type of time he was about to be on.
He also changed the way he rapped on revival which bothered the hell out of me. Seemed like the album was just his saying his message and the usual dumb songs he makes for fun.
Been looking forward to this mate. So happy to see you doing this reaction. We all know you don’t care for em, but we do love the fact that you appreciate and get the words. You’re a too guy. Watching from the uk. Hope to see more reactions mate
People called his Revival album trash because it was too "woke" and in the Cypher, he was dogging Trump and he told his fans that voted for him he didn't want them anymore. BTW, Revival still sold like 4 million copies.
That's why you need to listen to Ya Ya. His ass put Black Thought on the track.( along some other greats as well) And basically anything that Eminem features on, of course he annihilates every time because he always goes last, but it gives the artist a leg up because they know they have to come with 100% Heat just to be on that track with Eminem. My opinion Lil Wayne is the only one that can be compatible with keeping up with Eminem even though he does occasionally use that Auto-Tune. Just my two cents LOL
Black thought did better than em on the song and Royce has beat him too other times and I agree Wayne can hang with him. Nas did too and Kendrick hung with him but I’ll still give that one to em cuz of his second verse
As a '90s baby. I grew up with a lot of old school rap / MC's. Mainly thinks to my brother and sisters, whom are 10 to 20 years older than me. So I can appreciate Eminem always given props and respect to the older MC's who came before him. As a fan of Eminem, not the biggest. But somebody who does enjoy his lyricism. I've been enjoying your reactions, and respect your opinions Even if you don't particularly care for him as a person. Keep up the videos, and we'll all keep enjoying them.
Revival was amazing despite the backlash, the production was lackluster on that but he did it on purpose to emphasize the message of the songs. It's a truly insightful album with great topics from politics to human rights to near to death experiences but got a lot of bad reviews thanks to mainstream brain damaged media like podcasts of the Charlemagne, Budden and the likes while it wasn't as marketed or promoted due to these subjects. At the end he's referencing the BET cypher, he drew a line in the sand 'if you like Trump, we got a problem' type of shit and a lot of his fans were triggered and turned on him.. I guarantee not the Stans tho, we're not political, just realists, from Clinton to Mosh to Agent orange
Revival was Eminem's "bad" album......he still sold over 3 million!🐐💯 His Spotify streams for this album and/or singles from this album are through the roof!🤗❤✌
I am an Eminem fan just like you. He is my second favorite rapper of all time. But record sales does not determine if and album is good. Eminem is so popular that at this point if he dropped an album that was 60 minutes of him wasted just saying non sense it would still go platinum. When an artist is so wildly loved everyone is going to buy their album. I bought Revival, but I don't like it. Just my feeling, but just because I bought it, and that shouldn't count as some sign of a good album. I wanted my money back actually
Stan's are still here oh and welcome to the club dude. On a side note funny how your Eminem videos have like 10 times more views than any of your other videos so yea Stan's still out here my guy!
The album he released for this (revival) had record breaking sales, but was heavily criticized for how bad the songs were. Idk where people were getting that it was bad because he was talking about real shit

Royce 5’9 if u haven’t done/heard it yet is 1 of EM’s best tracks ever!! Plus bein an older hiphop head I bet u enjoy a good DISS track…REVIVAL was the album heavily criticized I’m pretty sure it went platinum but many criticized it HEAVILY his latest albums in order go Kamikaze, MTBMB side A then side B & yes all bars all the time Alfreds Theme is legitimately a song like 5 min long bar no hooks!!

The album he is referencing is Revival which he released in 2017. For a few years leading up to the album the biggest criticism of Eminem was that he was just a rhymer of words and his music didn’t have meaningful content anymore. People were saying that all he was focusing on was improving and displaying his technical rap skills and that his songs no longer had meaning or messages to deliver to the public. So he made Revival, on which he tones down the technical “lyrical miracle” rap style, slows down his flows a little bit, and gets much more introspective and addresses some real shit going on in society in general as well as what was going on in his head and how everything was affecting him and making him feel and also some recent experiences from his personal life. He had a lot of female pop stars featured on the album, like Beyoncé and Pink, to address the critics who don’t focus on bars and primarily care about how a song sounds more than its lyrics. When the album dropped, all those same critics who criticized him for not having any meaningful content in his music anymore started hating and criticizing him for trying to make socially conscious music and for making pop music. They wanted him to stick to the crazy bars and aggressive and outlandish rapping he first became known for. So essentially they had initially complained and told him what they wanted from him and he gave them EXACTLY what they asked for and they criticized it saying that the socially conscious type of music wasn’t his lane and to go back to how he had been before. This obviously upset him and so his next album was Kamikaze, which includes this song as well as Lucky you with Joyner Lucas. The whole album is basically him back to being aggressive and going after everyone’s throats
If people actually listened to his songs, he addressed this shit so many times, bit it seems people heard his earlier, cornier shit, and just go off of those songs.
this song is a diss for people like you. And I'm living for it. No, not you as a "hater", but as someone who use his name to get views and he's calling you out

I now understand more n more, that to really appreciate what Em laid down in bars in his songs, you need to know the background story. Otherwise, they are just nicely put together words and rhymes. Thats why we keep hearing stuff like ' Em doesn't really have any things to say...since that or this albums '.... I too have been passing judgments without really knowing what he's doing with his pen. And my guy here too don't know what he's talkin about. Not hatin, just facts

That's not what happens STAN'S didn't say it sucked. The haters said it sucked without even listening to it. But if you listen, it was bars on top of bars.
Yeah, a lot of the older ones bailed because they said his lyrics got too confusing. They liked the up front/face value raps he was doing initially. But since then he's honed his skills and does double/triple/quad deciphers and probably 2/3 of them find his newer stuff too confusing. They don't want to break down bars. But I love it. I'm glad he's getting back to his roots...but also has the ability to use any 3 of his personalities...slim shady, Marshall and Eminem...and rotate them around with whatever energy the song needs. I'm a fan, I've always been a fan and always will be. I love this newer version. I love finding new connections in his songs I've missed before. I'm glad you're giving him a listen. I'm not a Stan, but I grew up with him and this newer direction is just incredible.

Suddenly my colleague (hiphop fan) said you like Eminem (in 2017), said yes 10 years ago, but forgot about scene. Listened to The ringer & was like ... WTF, perfect double, triples, pure perfect dictionary & attacking everybody & perfect beat. Since then, buying all albums again (sorry am Stan, on last EP's, only bought the last 3 LP's). But how he raps, sounds perfect for me (like said, lost that hiphop world & even 'sorry to day' his old LP's not on this level, even if I loved it 15 years ago. This (Eminem) is suddenly perfection (for me), even KIllshot is a masterpiece (for me).

Just discovering you, man. I dig it so far. Subbed. I was a bit skeptical after the first one I heard (Caterpillar) and how you dogged on Royce's lyrics, which were pretty good IMO. Anyway, the cypher got hammered because he went at Conald. Obviously many Stans are also Dotard supporters who got pissed he went after their messiah, so after that he's had lines about how the cypher cost him half his fans. Keep up the good work, bro!
People shit on Revival when it released and that's what he is talking about with the bad album stuff. He sold 4 million copies but people shit on it anyway.
I think you’d really like this album. It’s full of tracks containing the stuff you liked in this track 👍 Just FYI, Eminem’s long verse on the BET cypher was a statement against Trump. And you need to watch it to really understand this track fully. The line in the sand, agent orange, going back to reword it, and many more references all stem from that cypher and the aftermath from that cypher. A reference he makes about color blind people and C Tha God stems from this cypher as well, as C went on air in the breakfast club the next day and panned Eminem’s cypher verse. He said a comparison Eminem had made between Trump and The Thing from the Marvel Universe was weak, and that The Thing isn’t even orange 🙄 when Eminem literally, as he raps in this track, was just trying to do the right thing that was on his heart and conscience to do. You really need to watch it to fully understand this track.

This hits way harder if you know about revival and the bet cypher. Agent Orange = Trump
You are one more perfect evidence that eminem is one of the goats...hating over years for no reason and realise that he is fire.
There are tons of bar heavy songs...maybe not your content, maybe not your fav beats...but lyrics, wordplay, cadence, flows...sick as fuck. You may not like him...but you have to respect him. He always respect the culture and pays homage like no one else
He has already has stated in previous videos he has respect for em’s pen game etc, he’s just not his cup of tea 🤷♂️

You see, people didn't even listen to Em's music and they still had the audacity to hate on EM! HOW???
Yeah this guy sounds like a douche he says he hates EM's music and has heard 2 songs. He hates him because he was in detroit wtf is that excuse. I think he hates white people.
Probably his best verse ever is on Best friend, highly recommended
Not his best, but it’s dope-ish, depends on your mood
@@D50Music it’s def one of his best
One of his best but definitely not his best
Agreed, theres no single verse of his that tops the lyrical wordplay and skill in that feature
@@jeremyrobinson3410 to be fair, when it comes to Eminem, it’s hard to pin down the “best” since his range is so wide. If you prefer fast rap then your favourite will probably be different from someone that prefers emotional stuff. So to say “definitely isn’t” I can’t agree with that, but let’s just say it’s like top 10 for the sake of argument lol
When Em said : if you ain't joyner if you ain't Kendrick or cole or sean then you are a goner🔥🔥
Everybody always forgets about Shady XV
It was released a year after Marshal Mathers Lp 2 in 2014
But to be fair there was only a few new songs
And at the time I didn’t really like it but then it grew on me
@@myfatassdick Oh yeah you're right! My bad, I completely forgot about ShadyXV. Ironically it has one of my most favorite Em songs of all time, Guts Over Fear. I guess people usually forget it because it's not a solo studio album, more like a compilation album.
i think he already did a reaction to lucky you
Personally I love revival
Thats a fugin novel i aint readin this shit all you need to know is he said if you support trump your not a fan of eminems and revival was considered a flop you suburban white people crazy stans
Listen do Caterpillar with Royce! You will not regret!...
Best Friend is fire. He’s bar heavy and the word play is sick.
People called his Revival album trash because it was too "woke" and in the Cypher, he was dogging Trump and he told his fans that voted for him he didn't want them anymore. BTW, Revival still sold like 4 million copies.
You should do "untouchable". I don't understand how a lot of black people hate on Em when he stands up for them so much lol
Woah there
@@tonym3659 ?
@@BackyardButcher Lil Wayne is a little surprise.

His reactions is 💯!
"Run that Back" !!
Respect for listening and actually giving it a chance.
Thanks bro for reacting! Love from The Netherlands!
I wanted my money back actually
he made his most grown up album prolly ever and some people didn‘t like some beats or the mixing
which is fucked up cause it was very very personal
I love your attitude and honesty . Welcome and better late than never hope you enjoy come to appreciate
Eminem’s sales are always high, it’s the the “topic” under his revival album is what people criticized the most.
Stan's are still here oh and welcome to the club dude. On a side note funny how your Eminem videos have like 10 times more views than any of your other videos so yea Stan's still out here my guy!

I wonder if people on YT can turn you into a Fan not a stan.. He got a lot of good content over the years since you havent listened to his new shit since MMLP lol.. Just look at Stevie knight he said he wasnt checking on Eminem's music but thanks to YT people been requesting a lot of his songs

React to "not alike" same album as this song here
28~flow switches, 1600~ words. 🔥🔥
It makes me so happy when you’re feelin an Em song 😂😂
Finally someone else got the WU reference. I’ve been saying it since Em started saying this same type of stuff on other tracks.

Not hatin, just facts

great reaction! old school > new school 💯

Was typical white European fan of Eminem show fan (was not in hiphop/rap).
Forgot of the scene.

He called for it, nobody showed. As expected.
I love your honesty in your reactions. I hate a lot of fake ass reactors saying shit knowing it gets them more and more shit. I wasn’t into Eminem’s work In the past but I been checking alot of his most recent work since his díss track dropped to MGK called Not Alike featuring Royce, a song called Fall and a song with logic called homicide. You should check out MMLP2, there are some incredible bar-heavy songs off of it (Rap God, Groundhog Day, Rhyme or Reason), and some top notch storytelling too (Bad Guy, Legacy, So Far).
This was the very first song on the Album Kamikaze. The narrative to the song was to fire shots at everyone. Critics, UA-cam reaction channels, everyone who shit on Revival, everyone who said he was washed, basically just everyone that pissed him off, including Trump aka Agent Orange. His previous album (Revival) had "Flopped". And by flopped they mean it didn't go platinum. It sold 300k copies in the first week and has 3mil sales now worldwide, but it's his only album that didn't go plat, so it's a "flop" 🤣🤣🤣
