Wish it would show at the bottom of the screen or something how these effects are notated.

The piece they're working from at the beginning is the sixth movement from Saariaho's Sept Papillions. You can find this piece here: ua-cam.com/video/8j0LcmdG1kI/v-deo.html It'll take a bit of looking around to find exactly which parts they are talking about in this but the piece is there.

      @@oliverdubon5438 I'm guessing it's at bar 24 around 6:49 isn't it? And especially bars 9,10,11 at 7:35

If one is able to think and feel, this makes you feel and think about music in a different and refreshing way

Wonderful . We hear these things now quite often . Film work is about what we can't express in words so visuals and music give us new ways to express current life .

+Caroline Cohen Let's make a deal. We won't listen to Justin Bieber, and you won't listen to that, and everybody's happy!

The music of next century will be fart and street drill noises. Remember that it's the new century so we need that type of music!

Hi, Caroline. These performance techniques, while unconventional and infrequently used, have been very pivotal in film music where traditional writing is limited. If you think of them as a color or spice, they can allow a composer to be very effective.
