- Fires are beeing set on purpose in Kaziranga by the Nationalpark-Staff because the grass-plains would gradually grow over with trees otherwise. Those vast areas of Elephant-Grass which are vital for the big herbivores like Elephant, Rhino, Waterbuffalo and many more. Some birds, like the Indian Rollers and Drongos take advantage of fleeing insects. The burnt grass obviously tastes good too and new one sprouts soon.

A burn is good as long as it is controlled.Glad to know that India is caring about its wildlife.We could take some lessons here in the US of America In many areas our wildlife isn't fairing well
The aim is to grow new leaves to be eaten by animals that need them...
It is good for all animal to burnt but it might harmful for snake
