- From Season 13 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 13: Joker, The Amiable Ocelot which originally aired on December 11th, 1966. Jim Benton salvages an old car he finds in the desert, not realizing it contains an unexpected guest, for the car is the home to an ocelot and her kittens. One of the youngsters is trapped in the car when Jim tows it to his garage, where the cat frees itself and becomes friends with Jim and his other pets. Starring Robert Becker as Jim Benton and Jan McNabb as Nancy Conroy.
Oh, this is wonderful. Mr
Disney did such great childrens shows. I like the older Disney movies so nice.
All the parents in our middleclass neighborhood would be right there watching it w/ us (as kids) too, especially these animal adventure episodes. It didn't matter whose house you were visiting on Sunday evening, if it was time for The Wonderful World Of Disney, that's what every family was watching.
Just watched it twice. That was great. Ocelots and coatimundi could be found in a very small part of the US back then. Extremely rare to see them on this side of the border now.
Remember renting this VHS from the library in 1991, 1992. Great simple animal story.
Loved this movie! Miss the old Walt. Thanks for all the great shows. I am a new subscriber.
24:25 Poor '51 Mercury! The crash scene footage was later re-used for the scene of Ron Howard's father's demise (along with some _Gnome-Mobile_ footage) in Disney's _Smoke_ (1970).
Another Great fave!
Keep Disney family. Disney Land is loved.
This aired 4 days before Walt Disney passed away from Lung Cancer.
Yes! This was the last episode to air during his lifetime, however, Walt recorded lead-ins for the rest of the episodes in Season 13. See “A Salute to Alaska” for his last lead-in 😢
How adorable was that! Such a good episode!
This I love a lot!
If you could, look back and see if you have "Man in Flight II" (from March 1961) - an updated "Man in Flight" that featured Fred MacMurray performing "Serendipity" to promote The Absent-Minded Professor! Very little known.
Let me see if I have that one. I’ve heard of it and have the Serendipity song on an LP.
40:40
Those are the barking sounds used in The Fox And The Hound.
And they say Uncle Walt didn't like cats 😽
I have seen it, very nice
We don't get the sound effects used for those hounds anymore. Pity.
New Zealand is a clean green country but our wildlife is no where near as varied as the U.S i get jealous, but on the other hand having no predators while camping or hiking etc is good to.
The reason thesevmovies arent on disney channel is there somewhat lax animal cruelty e.g dogs attacking an ocelot etc..
