  • 🚨 READ FULL DESCRIPTION - In this video I show why some people just can't use battery power equipment, especially a string trimmer. I am using the Milwaukee M18 Quik-Lok string trimmer attachment and I used to make these same mistakes time after time until I started to understand my equipment. I show a few bad habits in going from a gas trimmer to a battery trimmer and a few things you will need to change to make it happen. My church has a fence like that in the back so I understand you got to pull it out with your hands. I got to say that's pretty powerful just being on slow mode. Your 8 year old son is a good camera man. Yea I admit I run my string around 8 inches and I also squeeze the trigger also. That does make sense, but I never used a battery operated one yet so you made some real good points. Thank you for the tip brother 👊💯

    Interesting perspective, and if you're edging or trimming against objects you don't need a long line anyway. Just step 3 inches closer. Might as well save the battery!
    From what I can tell, the people who get into trouble with this overheating might be running their line longer and stressing the motor ... but what's concerning there is that this is a 14-16" trimmer, and you're staying safer by only using yours as a 10" trimmer.
    I have the big 35cc Honda but it's a pain to use for quick trims because it must always be used with the handlebars and harness. I think this M18 might be a good companion for it and leave the Honda to the brush.

    I've got an acre yard and have to do inside and outside my fence - I go through a few 9.0 batteries (slow speed) - and depending on if it's hot out or not the batteries can overheat and shut down for thermal protection - still enjoy using my milwaukee trimmer though - but that being said the weight does wear on you, at least for my size of yard and having to deal with non-flat terrain here in TN. Curious why you don't use the guard - you are manually trimming your line to that length everytime?

    • @TheLawnFellas
      @TheLawnFellas  Рік тому +1

      Honestly I love the trimmer it’s awesome. Obviously if I was doing a major hillside with higher weeds I would pull out my gas trimmer. As for the guard. In my opinion it waste trimmer line and doesn’t protect much. I am more concerned about protecting a window in front of me but I recommend leaving it on. For the trimmer line if I bump my head and it’s to long I just flip it up and wind it down a little no biggie. As you can see I trimmed my lawn and never bumped my head once. 👍🏼
