@@ThatJewishFamily I am not Jewish. Here is a basic question that I have always had about Judaism that I have never gotten a satisfactory answer for.
Why do Jewish men wear a Yamaka but Jewish women do not ?
If you Google the question you get:
“A kippah, yarmulke, or koppel is a brimless cap, usually made of cloth, traditionally worn by Jewish males to fulfill the customary requirement that the head be covered. It is worn by all men in Orthodox communities during prayers and by most men at all other times.”
But that does not answer the question why women do not wear them.
      THANKS

    • @this-is-my-voice
      @this-is-my-voice Рік тому

@@michaelterry1000 @michaelterry1000 you're not likely to get an honest answer here, but traditionally in Judaism the men participate in the ritual practices and the women stay home, to take care of home and family. While things have changed this is still considered the ideal, except when men do what is ideal for them - actually not work, as implied in this video - but study Jewish law books all day, then it is on the women to take care of finances and the home. Btw these men say a blessing every day thank God for not making me a woman.... that said in some reform communities women do wear the kippah, but these hassidism don't even consider reform legislate Judaism.

    • @renaldamarkos7913
      @renaldamarkos7913 Рік тому

@@michaelterry1000 a short answer is that a woman, being a more sensitive creature by nature, has an intrinsic connection to God. Men, by nature are more slavish to thier desires and without a constant reminder that God is above them, they may forget themselves and engage in immoral behavior.
As far as what the next commenter wrote women are exempt from most time bound Mitzvot (commandments) especially when engaged in child rearing. As God views children in the highest light, he seeks to protect them by not putting the mother in the position of having to decide between time bound commandments and say a hungry baby. Typically women still participate in many of these commandments even if they are not obligated to, particularly if they are single or have older children. Circling back to the kippah discussion, perhaps, this is why God in his infinite wisdom, imbued women with a nature that allows them to connect to Him even without the trappings of certain practices.

@@this-is-my-voice if something is re-formed then it is no longer the thing it is based off of. Can't ask to be given the same status when ur religion rejects the basic fundamentals of the religion you are claiming to be a part of. It's a bit like asking to be considered a Muslim when u don't believe in the Prophet Mohammend, reject Halal as unnecessary and alter the Quran to suit your own likings.
Also out of everyone in that video only 1 person said they learn. Men who learn are not supported by thier wives income alone, they also recieve a small salary from the place they learn. Not very different then any other position in academia. This is just another way your religion fundamentaly seeks to alter Torah. In Genesis it discusses how Jacob's sons Yissacher and Zevulon had a reciprocal relationship in which 1 learned for himself and his brother and the other earned coin for them both. The Torah values scholarly pursuits more then material ones. It is a privilege and an honor to genuinely engage in Torah learning, as it states numerous times throughout Torah.

Chabad and Satmar don't get along so well, I mean they may be friendly when they see each other, but ideologically Satmar and much of Orthodoxy does not consider Chabad to be legit within the fold, because of all the moshiach stuff, how they believe their passed away Rebbi is moshiach. But the funny thing is when these Orthodox Jews travel they suddenly rely on Chabad, for kosher food, minyan etc.

Growing up in Houston and being brought up in a Spanish Christian church. I always had coloring books about Moses, King David, Noah, etc. I didn’t know anything about Hebrews or Jewish culture. I dislike the church the singing, the teaching, prayer, and preaching. Every time my parents were getting ready to attend their Spanish services I would climb out the window to the streets. Anyway one day my mother needed a ride to the hospital to see a friend who was in a coma. I was upset that she forced me to take her and I was filled with anger. I was tired of my mother who didn’t speak English walking around the hospital with her black Bible in her hand. I was so ashamed to be next to her with her Bible at the hospital in a room with a person in a coma. Who did my mother think she was with that book. Anyway she told me she was going to pray for the person in a coma and to lift up my hands in prayer with her. I was so ashamed of both of us to be in that room. I wanted to just leave my mother alone but I listen to her and lifted my hands in prayer and she starts praying saying, “ God of Abraham “ then she start crying and I was ready to walk away when I felt this power or electricity run through my body. My eyes were filled with tears. I asked, myself what is this power charge that I am feeling and the person who was in a coma open he’s eyes and was full of tears. The machine started beeping and the nurse came into the room and stared to check the man vital signs. Anyway I couldn’t remember anything else how I drove back home. The only thing was that I wanted to know what power cane over me so I bought a Bible and decided to read it myself. I didn’t know anything about Jewish history or had any learning about the Bible. I just started reading it for myself and I love the Bible and I believe Jesus Christ is the true Messiah...

I'm going to speak my mind for a minute, and I mean everything with the most respect for you all and others. There's something I would like clarity about. Do you think Lubavitcher Rebbe was the Messiah?
I'm an ex-christian converting to orthodox Judaism. The way some chasidim look to Lubavitcher Rebbe is giving me Mormon vibes. Some of you think he was the Messiah and say it honestly, some of you try to hide it and not say it straightforwardly, and some don't believe he was the Messiah but look to him as a role model. Out of all the great, great Rabbi's, but I don't see anyone praying to them or holding them up the same way Lubavitcher Rebbe. Are Maimonides, Ramban, or Rashi not greater than Lubavitcher Rebbe? I would say so. It feels like another Christian cult, and having been a Christian and also, at a time, in a Christian cult that believed a person that came after Jesus in the 20th century was the second coming of the Messiah, I very much understand how disgusting it is.
If I see Lubavitcher Rebbe as a great person and mentor or role model, I wouldn't put his photo in my house or pray at his grave as if it's more special than any other. Doesn't Torah tell us not to pray to the dead, too? I don't even think people should say they have a role model if they're Jewish. It's not a good mindset, and it's idolatry.

And emissaries of Lubavitcher Rebbe sounds like the same thing as missionaries of Jesus Christ. They need to go tell the whole world, or all the world's Jews it seems, the good news that the Messiah has come, right? Is it not a prophecy that when 'The' Messiah comes, there will be no need to tell anyone like your neighbor about G-d because everyone will know Him?

just to be clear, being lubavitch and chasidish are 2 separate things. there are a number of things to address with what you said, and you should speak to a rabbi, first of all, there is nothing wrong with praying at a rabbis grave. its even recommended and has more power. but dont mix it up with jesus. we are not praying to the rabbi, or even praying to the rabbu to pray for us. we are praying to hashem in the merit of such rabbis,l and we go to their grave site to be closer and especiallyu on their yortzeit (day they died). we want hashem to answer are prayers in the name of and in the merit of such rabbis because we lack the merit they had.
and the rabbis you mentioned like rambam and rashi are called rishonim. the very first generation of rabbis since the talmud. going back over 1000 years ago. as a rule, each generation forward is "weaker" spiritually than the previous, so yes, rambam was greater, but that doesnt mean other rabbis we cant pray by with their merits. in fact we most certainly do. and only the lubavitcher people believe he is the massiah. most other jews, even many who are lubavitch dont believe he is the messiah, in fact, many actually say its idolatry. but please dont confuse chasidim with lubavitch. they are different sects, and over a hundred different sects of chasidim depending where they were from and the rabbi of their town or city.
it is very complicated about how and why the lubavitch treat the rebbe this way, but the rabbi himself was a trulky great man and would not like how they call him messiah so please dont get turned off from judiasm by looking at one group. FYI, lubavitch are some of the greatest and kindest people out there always looking to help people. there is nothing wrong with putting pictures of rabbis in the house as long as you arent treating it like a idol. most dont. people have many pictures of rabbis in their house including the rambam. its not to make him into a god, but because of how great these rabbis are.
but even the ones who believe he was the messiah, they dont think hes god. some take it to far and believe hes actually still alive. its less about a cult and more of a wrong way of growing up. even the lubavitch believe ram bam and rashi were greater. but they think hes mashiach and waiting for him to reveal himself. if you look into why the believe hes messiah, its not because of how great he is but for different reasons. i dont want to say it, but unfortunately it is knd of cult like, and majority of orthodox rabbis say the lubavitch went too far and outside the scope of jewish faith.
but please dont be discouraged by this. they only a small sect of the jewish orthodox community, and even then, they are still great people, and only some of them actually believe hes the second coming. I recomend you find a rabbi you like and trust and speak with him as you will not get great answers on the internet

    • @uriel7203
      @uriel7203 Рік тому +1

You are conflating two very different ideas.
Firstly, there are many instances in primary Orthodox Jewish sources (Talmud, Shulchan Aruch, Mudrashim, etc.) that talk about praying at grave sites as a positive thing. If you visit the grave site of the Rebbe, there is what is called the Ma'aneh Lashon which cites several sources that is recited as part of the service. And that is just one of several prayers that are said at grave sites.
Secondly, having a picture of a tzadik in your house is something that has existed for many years. It's source is also in the Midrash and quoted by Rashi albeit not a portrait, rather an image in your mind. But having a picture does help.
As for your "greater Rabbis" comment: the Talmud tells us that Moses saw future generations and was humbled by it. But the bottom line is that every generation has its mission and its leader who is equipped with the knowledge and nature to lead his generation. Moses would not be able to deal with what happened after the Holocaust, for example. And Mordechai HaYehudi would not be able to deal with taking the Jews out of Egypt. The Rebbe probably could not have helped the Jews after the Spanish inquisition and the Arizal could not deal with helping Jews escape communist Russia and so on.
Lubavitchers believe that this generation needs the Rebbe and quite frankly, most of the Orthodox world agrees. Even after his passing his teachings became more relevant and so did his empire. And because of that, many prople are returning to Orthodox Judaism.
Your description of the Christian gospels and comparing them to the Shluchim is immature and only shows how little you know of both Christianity and Judaism. Your "vibes" of Joseph Smith is a stupid one at best. You haven't the slightest clue as to what Mormanism is apparently.
I hope you are able to educate yourself on the manner.

    • @pepperdeez
      @pepperdeez Рік тому +3

@@uriel7203 he made it very clear he is trying to convert. So I don't know why you are attacking he clearly is trying to educate himself. Be very careful how you speak to a convert the Torah speaks very harshly about someone who says the wrong things. It's possible you could be a reason to make someone not convert because if making a chilull hashem.
And I'm not sure what your background is, and I tried very hard not to say it, but I will because it's a real problem. The chabadnicks that believe the Rebbe is alive and mashiach are 100% doing acodah zarah. They actually pray directly to him and point to his empty chair in 770 as they pray. Those same group of chabad that believe that also take it to another level where they actually walk up to his empty chair receiving brachot from his as if he's alive and take a dollar bill from the table as if he's giving it. They actually pray to him directly when the shulchan aruch is very clear you are not allowed to do that and great care needs to be taken by gravesites to make sure you are being very clear that you are praying to hashem to answer you in the merits if the rav, and not to to the rav himself, or for the rav to pray for you.
He is not far off at all in comparing that to Christians who pray directly to Jesus and pray for Jesus to answer them and that Jesus is alive.
Everything else you said I agree with. But clearly he is trying to learn and isn't aware of praying by gravesites and not understanding what we are doing there and same regarding pictures of rabbis

This is a question many people, Including those who grew up chabad lubavitch grapple with. I'm not going to repeat what the others said as it standard operations with in orthodox Judaism. That said, it's very difficult for outsiders to grasp the full scope of who the Rebbe was and still is for many people. It's not apparent today that there is anyone even remotely operating at the same level that his influence had and has even 30 years posthumously. He lives on in his teachings and good deeds the chassdim, shluchim and frankly anyone whose lives he's touched. Learn a little bit more about who he was, what he did, his teachings and you may find urself understanding a bit more as to why he is so venerated that even other chassidim and even non-jews go to the Ohel to pray. He was clearly the Moshe/ Rambam of our day. Perhaps it is something lost to history, but it's very possible that after the petirot of other massive Torah giants (like Moshe and Rambam) thier influences were still siemic for decades after thier passing. In a generation as lost, unmoored and as bereft as ours is, it makes a lot of sense to cling to the last truly great tzaddik until the next becomes known to us. I'm willing to bet that should the Moshiach arrive and fulfill all the signs, but not be the Rebbe, that even the most hard core Mishechist would run out with joy and dancing to greet him

Have your sins been forgiven today and forever? Think about this. The God of the bible, the One True God made us to worship him, obey him, and enjoy him forever. We break His laws daily by not putting Him first, not thanking Him like we should, we lie, we lust, we have sex before marriage, we dishonor our parents, we covet things other people have, we take God's name and use it in vain, we use it in a low manner, sometimes as a cuss word, (God is holy and even His name is holy), we don't love like we should, etc. In doing so we're saying He's not a good provider, He's a liar, He's untrustworthy, He's not worthy of praise. All these things and more are counted against us. The bible says God is the just judge of the world and one day He will settle the score for all the wrong we've done. God is holy meaning He is righteous (morally perfect in thought, word, and deed) It also means He is set apart and higher than us. God being good, must punish all sin or wrong doing in the world. This means that if you sin one time God will cast you in hell for eternity. Because He is good and He doesn't turn a blind eye to sin. But there is good news. 2000 years ago Jesus the Son of God came into this world and lived a perfect life ( He never sinned once) and He died on the cross taking the wrath that we deserve and paid the penalty for the sins we committed. The bible says that if you will repent (confess and forsake your sins) and trust in what Christ did on the cross (He took the wrath of God that was meant for you and I) then all your sins will be forgiven and when you die you will be in heaven with God and all who believe for eternity. Jesus died and on the third day He rose from the grave. Get right with God today don't wait. Once you die after that comes the judgement. Hebrews 9:27 It's the most important thing you can do. You must be born again John 3:7 If you repent and trust in what Christ did on the cross it shows that you've been born again or born spiritually. Right now you're dead in your sins and you can't see the beauty of Jesus Christ but after you trust in Christ all the things you hate about God like obeying him, serving Him, loving Him and others, reading the bible, praying and going to church you will love to do those things because God changes your heart. That's how you know you have been born again and forgiven. Please think long about this and ask me any questions you have as this is the most important thing you can ever think of in your life. An eternity in hell (darkness and a lake of fire the bible describes it, with weeping and gnashing of teeth) or an eternity out of that place and into the loving arms of God who is infinitely glorious, has infinite knowledge and has infinite power to do all that He pleases. You decide. Have a great day!

THE LOST TEACHINGS OF YESHUA THE MAGE
"First, then: There is soon to come into the world a body,
one of our own number here that to many
has been a representative of a sect, of a thought, of a
philosophy, of a group, yet one beloved of all men in all
places where the universality of God in the earth has been
proclaimed, where the oneness of the Father as God is known
and is consciously magnified in the activities of individuals
that proclaim the acceptable day of the Lord. Hence that one
John, the beloved in the earth - his name shall be John, and
also at the place where he met face to face.
When, where, is to be this one? In the hearts and minds of
those that have set themselves in that position that they
become a channel through which spiritual, mental and material
things become one in the purpose and desires of that physical
    body!
Who shall proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord in him
that has been born in the earth in America? Those from that
land where there has been the regeneration, not only of the
body but the mind and the spirit of men, THEY shall come and
declare that John Peniel is giving to the world the new ORDER
of things. Not that these that have been proclaimed have
been refused, but that they are made PLAIN in the minds of
men, that they may know the truth and the truth, the life,
the light, will make them free." (Edgar Cayce reading on January 19,1934)
.....and he entered into the desert with his disciples. Peter said unto Yeshua, " Rabbi, how is it that the priests and elders accuse you of blasphemey?" Yeshua answered and said " On the rock of truth I say this: It is not that I claim special perogratives when I said " I and my Father are One", but rather my intention was to say that all men and women are equal and have claim to divinity. That is why the scriptures said " Ye are gods and all of you are sons of the most high". I have raised all men and women to a higher degree when I said nothing more than " I am the son of God". How sad it is to say though that men and women have renounced their innate Godhood and have opted to call on the Being as though He and She were outside of themselves!"
Thomas was astonished to hear these things and said quickly, " Is the Christ near to our hearts?" Yeshua said, " Thomas, truly I say unto you, you are my twin! Therefore I name you Thomas Didymus, for you are my twin soul. If it is said by the people that I am Christ, therefore it shall be no less true of you!"
The disciples murmured amongst themselves. Yeshua read their hearts and said, " Why do you complain? Is this a hard saying for your ears? Pick up a rock, I am there! I am in the fire, I am in the earth! When you see a tree, I am there! Do you understand? "
John came forth and said " My Lord, your words are like rocks which fall off a mountain. Our ears cannot take these things in. We know you know all things, please tell us more! "
Yeshua answered and said " If you have knowledge that I know all things, then by that very fact, all of you knows all things! Therefore, I am not your teacher, for you have become intoxicated with the wellspring which bubbles up in your loins."
The disciples said " Lord, you mock us! We are but poor fishermen!"
Yeshua said " I have chosen you twelve. Hereafter I shall go into regions which no one can enter. As I am from above, so you are from above. Be lights in this world as I am the light. There is some one here who is even greater than I! He it is whom you shall see when the Son of man shall come with his angels! Yet I say unto you, that the Son of Man is in you."
Peter said, " Lord, we will fight to the death for the cause of your kingdom!"
Yeshua said, " On the rock of truth I say, Peter you will suffer many things, and your glory will be great. However, take care that you do not persecute the Magdalene. She shall reprove you and you will be an enemy to her."
Peter answered and said "This woman is not fit to be with us. How is it that she is in our company?"
Yeshua said "The Magdalene is your teacher and you are her teacher. And as it is needful for pairs of opposites to coexist with each other so that there is mutual benefit, therefore it is necessary for the Woman to have an equal place amongst yourselves. But take heed to yourselves! Many shall come in my name and say 'I am Christ!' Do not pay any heed to that busybody! For such a one is a pretender, but the one who is Christ is that person who keeps it to himself. There will be many who will come into your camp and cause troublesome quarrels. Yet I have faith that you will do your best and all things will resolve themselves."
Andrew said, " Lord, where are you going? Where are these regions to which you will go to?"
Yeshua answered and said " When you see the Serpent raised upon the Tree of Life as Moses raised up the serpent in the desert, then you will know these things."
Yeshua said " Children, how hard it is to enter into those regions of Light! Therefore I say, strive to enter into the narrow gate for many will come and distract you. The knowledge is hard to come by, however, the Magdalene will tell you of things which I have left unsaid. And when it comes to earthly matters, you shall go to James the righteous. Heaven and earth exist for his sake!'However, my words shall outlive the heavens and the earth."
    And Yeshua and his disciples......
“.....however, if you marry the Father and Mother inside of you, then they will produce the Golden Child. That Child is the Son of God”.
When Jesus had said this, Mary Magdalene came forward and knelt before Jesus, worshipping at his feet. She said, “ Rabbi, tell us how we should live! “ Jesus answered and said, “ Woe to those who will add anything to what I have said! If I say what is true, what will be the guarantee that some worthless one will not corrupt my sayings? However, if I remain silent, then my silence will be hatred for my own soul.”
Jesus said, “Come away, let us go to the garden.” Presently, the lord and his disciples came to Gethsemane. Jesus sat apart from his disciples and then spake these words----
Cursed is the one who follows another and not his own spirit! Such a one quenches his own wellspring and seeks after dry cisterns! Did I not say the Kingdom of Heaven is within you? Know then that the your hidden Father jealously seeks your undivided attention and when you have given it, then you are the Father!
Cursed are those who call themselves Pastors, yet these have turned the words of natural law into words of men. These are wild animals who only do what their blind god tells them. Forsake then the god of this aeon, for he says in his heart, “I am God and there is no other!” It would be better if the blind god renders worship to you, for you are worthy to judge him!”
Cursed is the one who divides himself into dark and light and holds the light for himself yet says to the dark “I know thee not! Where did you come from?” Such a one is deluded and has created a demon for himself. That demon will then gather other demons to himself and beset that man with many tortures. Own therefore the darkness in you, for it is your very own creation and is part of you. Make the dark like the light and the light like the dark and you will be a holy spirit.”
You have heard it has been said, “Let not the woman speak in the assembly, for man was created first, then the woman.” But I say unto you, that whoever silences the woman in the assembly is as a castrated man! Fool! How can you silence the woman when the Holy Spirit herself is a woman?! Shall you silence the voice of God? For a time you can, but what then? Destruction and calamity will result, for the forces of nature are unbalanced. Balance then the woman with the man in the assembly and there will be harmony.
You have heard that it has been said, “Eat the clean and hold the unclean in abomination” But I say unto you, eat those things which are in accordance with the growth of your soul. When you eat, your invisible man is affected and in turn balances your visible man, However, if the food you eat is not in agreement with your invisible man, then the outer man will be adversely affected. Remember, the food has a spirit and soul inside of it and it must needs be that it is attracted to your spirit in a healthy way.
You have heard that it has been said, “Obey the authorities over you, for they are the powers of God” But I say unto you, first obey the authority of the invisible man inside of you, and then render obedience to the outer authorities. If these powers are contrary to your invisible man, then know that they have not proceeded from the Father but are offspring of the blind god. Was I restrained from beating out the priests from the temple? Yet these are esteemed as God ordained. Remember, I have come to cast fire into the world, and you are that fire.

I'm a muslim and I agree with the other comment. As a muslim I believe Jesus (peace be upon him) to be a prophet, not God, God incarnated in humanflesh nor God's son as part of the trinity. How can someone worship a humanbeing? When both the Old testament (the first commandment!) as the Quran are very clear on the matter of worshipping other then the One and only Creator. Please learn carefully and don't gamble away your Hereafter.

@@ikkee5936 far from a prophet. A heretic cannot be a prophet

When Lord came to meet abraham three persons came to him.
Jesus Christ is prophecied in many places in the Bible.
Pray that God will reavel the Truth to you becouse if you miss Jesus Christ you will have to answer for your sins and there is no forgivness of sins without sheeding of the blood and wages of sin is death but gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ died on the cross for sins of the world was burried and resurected on third day according to the scriptures so anyone who belives in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
When it comes to muslims i don't get how they can listen to this pedophile, greedy murderrer, lust driven, slave owner, racist MuhamMAD and somehow belive that he is prophet of God.
You guys are decived but i pray you find the Truth.

What we have here is the goldy lox paradox with cream cheese. Christianity - too soft , Islam- too hard , Judaism- just right

Jesus is the King of the Jews.❤
For rejecting him, Jews were expelled from Canaan, as Moses foretold in Deuteronomy 28.
After 2000 years of assimilation for Jews and more than 2700 years of assimilation for the ten lost hebrew tribes, there’s already way more Hebrew blood in The Church than in modern day political Israel.
The Church is the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham, that his seed would be as numerous as the stars of heaven, that can’t be counted for multitude.
God didn’t appreciate AT ALL the Hebrews asking for a king, and equated such request to NOT WANTING God to be their King.
At the same time God promised the Jews a King forever, the Messiah. If God doesn’t want any King other than himself, as the King of Israel, and promises israel a king Forever, then the Messiah who rules forever, must be God. That’s why in Isaiah 9:6-7, the name of the Child is Mighty God, Everlasting Father. That’s why in Micah 5:2 The Messiah who is born in Bethlehem, is from everlasting. Only God is from Everlasting. That’s why in Isaiah 7:14 the Child born of a virgin is called Emmanuel “God with us”. And the sign is the virgin giving birth otherwise it wouldn’t be a sign at all. And Abraham forefather of Moses bowed down to Melchizedek who offered bread and wine, who was a type of Jesus and the Eucharist.
Jesus is God and the Messiah and the King of Israel, and True Israel is THE CHURCH, in which the gentiles also were welcomed, after Jesus, fulfilling the promise to Abraham: “in your seed I will bless all the nations of the earth”.
Israel is The Church, and the entrance in Israel is through baptism. The modern religion of Talmudic Judaism, which has lacked a priesthood for 2000 years and has lacked a sacrifice, is a heresy from the True, Biblical Jewish religion, which is Catholicism. Moses would go to mass, if he came to earth now, and would bow down before the Eucharist.
