I was at Barry's last races ever when he raced at the Goodwood Revival event. He and and Gardner duked it out in some very serious racing. We were able to walk round the paddock and I actually met and chatted with Barry. What a sound bloke he was. Tragic loss.
I was there too, with a rather glamorous girlfriend who knew nothing about motorbikes but took an instant shine to Barry when we met him in the pits. Whatever it was he had, he hadn't lost it!
So much more interesting than watching modern plastic things racing around! I cannot believe I watched the whole race filmed in excellent sharp focus and detail, only to get to the end and see people being interviewed, I can see people on every high street, but I cannot see the winning motorcycle, why wasn't more effort put in to showing the winning bikes close up ? Chris B.
Such skinny tires ! ! How do they do that? With no fear and balls of steel ! MotoGP is going the way of F1 with tech, pressure and diminishing individuality. I never saw Quateraro or Marquez pinch each other on the straight like these guys did! I could watch races like this all day long!
Yeah, that's true, MotoGP is turning into F1 unfortunately, but in the past, there were some crazy races, I've seen Dovi vs Marquez touch each other in the straight but that doesn't happen these days anymore.
What a fantastic race, from young and old alike, Well Done Alll! BSB 1955! This vid needs remaking in black and white, with flickering/jumping frames etc, but with 1950s voice over from Murray walker and Jamie Whitham! Sorry to age you Jamie! Lol! some youtuber out there please make this so! But, done tastefully! Much respect to all racers who participated in this beautifull race! Talent! ♥
a stupendous display of two wheeled machinery ,as enjoyable as any of the modern racing for sure, goodwood F,O,S is awesome .. was there any sign of `just stop oil` fraternity ? 😂😇
Very disappointed that the commentators went on and on and on about the race leaders, to the exclusion of the majority of these fabulous bikes and talented and dedicated riders.
@@martinhambleton5076 I was wrong, there was one which was No.1 on the grid, Matcheless G80, dunno how I missed it. But, as you say no MV's, mind you there are a few other makes that would have been nice to see.
@@johnmartin6178 yes, your right. I am an original MV fan, and always had a soft spot for them. I suppose that they think that they are an unfair advantage.
I watched this race because I am interested in the old bikes but the men doing the commentary rarely ever mention the bikes and the leaderboard didn’t show what brand the riders were riding. Overall I’d say the production of this video was a fail.
"Theres the englishman pulling past the irishman while looking ahead at the scottsman" i swear theyre going to turn this into a bar joke at some point.
You're going to have to come up with a better scheme to keep pit lane safe. Clearly managing the timing is not working. I cannot imagine that teams are intentionally jumping the gun. It makes watching the racing confusing and upsets the sense of competition. Needs to be addressed.
I'm a biker, the commentators are not. Bikers wish to know about the bike, it's speed throughout the laps and comparisons with modern bikes. These two ratchet jaws don't have time to tell us bikers about anything except their constant need to out-speak one another.
Love the diversity of machinery and no fairings. Much more interesting than MotoGP with all the hideous colour schemes, advertisers and ugly aero. Real motorcycle racing with character..all air cooled and lovely farty exhaust sounds!
What a treat to be able to watch these vintage motorcycles doing what they're meant to do, also at the end of the race veiw of the spectators, everyone neatly dressed, here in the USA everyone dresses like slobs for a event like this
I heard Barry Sheene rubbish the Rotary Norton GP bike that qualified for the Australian HP that finished about 6th, get that heap of rubbish off the track. Why is his name used in this class, he had no respect for these birds?
James Hiller channelling Troy Corser
I was hoping to see Troy Corser this year…
Channeling*
That is just as exciting as super bike racing. You don't need 200 HP to have great racing.
This was better than some of the MotoGP races this season! Brilliant stuff
By far the best racing of all sound, professional and madness.
Just great ...... really enjoyed.
Awesome racing - doesn't get a lot better than this!

We were there as well total hero
Splendid racing and thanks for including the complete finish and after race interviews!
A few digs at Stavros before the start, Barry would be pleased!
Got to get them in
@@GoodwoodRR you really do!
More information on the bikes would be in order.
More bike racing needed. Please!
Great racing ! Thanks for showing the entire race, and post race interviews 👍!!!
That was a masterclass 👍🇬🇧
Beautiful bikes and very honor for Barry Sheene 💐🏁
Wonderful racing, thank you for the whole race video.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Thanks very much!
Such beautiful bikes!
That Vincent Black Shadow looks and sounds fantastic!! 🤩
THE MASTER CLASS RIDING ♠♠♠♠♠♠♠ GREAT GOODWOOD EVENT BROS♥
Brilliant thanks for the entertainment, the only thing missing was the smell of Castrol R
Buy a bottle and sniff it while you watch, I recommend 😁
🤣🤣
Great race! The announcers are maddxening, and non stop!
And boring
Love the racing, they are not just making laps. Way cool stuff!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Proper racing.
This is absolutely brilliant racing!
Tolles Rennen. Alte, schöne Gefühle werden geweckt.
Splendid! Only wish they would show the bikes a little more
Great racing and...was the definitive pronunciation of Velocette finally announced at 3l:02?
Pure Gold. Time to crank up "Vincent Black Lightning 1952" by Richard Thompson!

I felt the same frustration to be honest.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing
Brilliant race.

Great to hear the Nissan at full noise with no commentators or music.
Wonderful and Brilliant
Beautiful bikes !! 😍😍

Nice race #!!!
Yes that a cool race Peace out

No MVs? 😭
🥀@ 33:25… Oh how I miss my bikin daze! Ewe can only recall & that's sew special. Thanks4_the fond memories ✝️
Great thumbnail
I would love to see if my sr500 race build could compete.. that would be a blast
Couldn't see any AJS or Matchless anywhere?
Or an MV Agusta?

When & if Hillier goes too Classic championships than he will bee nr 1 for many many years, what a ride, those bikes isnt easy too ride fast,
When bikes were bikes not bloody computers.
Pity no onboard cameras

Haha 😂

Goofball comment. You don't need to dress posh for a race, it's not a marriage or funeral.

Be a great film if you could get rid of the commentary,
better than moto gp ???
