Arrma Outcast 4S V2.5 Getting What It Needs & found Some Damage

Interesting to see some of the assembly issues from arrma. Sure wish they'd just bag the parts and offer a kit version for so we could build them how we want without having to unbuild them and correct this stuff first

My gear case was packed with sand after one run cleaned it ran it again full of sand and not at the beach just typical Florida soil lol. My bearings were trashed too Arrma warrantied them and I taped over the hole in the chassis to keep the gear from sucking in the sand. I think it was paint in the screws I used a exacto chipped it out factory fluid is 500k mine was dry Arrma sent me a tube filled it up and on the Kraton it does wheelies for days now.

To all Outcast owners.... I recommend padding the front shock towers with a very stiff foam. Otherwise they will damage the body even if you re-enforce it with shoe goo and tape. I took a couple of chunks of the thick/dense foam that Traxxas ships their light kits with and glued them to the tops of the towers.🤓

Arrma tough to work on sometimes 😂 That black plastic bit that keeps the whole center diff module stay in place was really stuck in there. Hopefully that 20M diff fluid will make it more stuntable 🤞

I'm building an outcast 4S and starting with the slipper and then maybe upgrading to the diff. Figure I'd learn the difference for myself. Hoping to have it finished this year.

I cant believe that battery tray is longer than the Kraton the owners manual says it is I have so much more room between the motor and the esc I do have a plastic block built in before the center diff where yours has the strap in the motor block piece and the battery goes all the way very interesting if it is longer

I accidentally put the wrong screw in the bottom of my chassis on the 4s outcast. It was too long and went all the way through the plastic driveline. Pulled the screw out and kept going. Still haven’t had an issue with it 😄

Forgive my ignorance, but if you stiffen the fluid by n the diff, does that mean you will start to blow pinions and spurs? I’m not a basher! You said you will get better wheelies and such, but I imagine that torque will eventually eat teeth!? Thanks for the build vid

It adds more drive to the rear wheels when the front wheels come up in the air it stops the front tires from ballooning

Theoretically easier to blow the front or especially rear diff

No it won’t blow the front or rear differential or even kill gears as there all made to handle 6s easily! And with having the front & rear differentials set up loose the power will still bleed off into one of those wheels anyways 👍 locking the center differential could cause issues as impact on landing can kill the gears & differentials as the power would have no place to go if landing on front or rear wheels on power or even braking something I don’t recommend for a basher 💯

Not sure the centre diff is really need in the Outcast, I have the V2 with the slipper, no problem with it, I think the Mojave 4s is more suited to a centre diff.

Safer for the front and rear diffs to run a center dif

@hashimrahman51 loose slipper clutch or even one adjusted properly will also work great locking any center differential causes drivetrain to fail while bashing any rc 👍
