Much better starting 5, donte may have become a bit redundant with bridges. Would really like to see them go after Lonnie Walker to come off the bench. Rather than rotting in the G league
Bridges could easily give you 25 points P/G follow by OG 15 >20 P/G. Also play great defense. The Knicks going to play a faster pace more athletic game. It's hard for any defense to stop them for 48 minutes. Josh Hart a good rebounder Kat will be a very good rebounder being a good rebounder It's something you can learn gradually it's contagious. It's always Team work. Kat got the size. Size does matter. Specially in the paint. Offensively and defensively.
Based on what I've been reading from Ian Begley, Steph Bondy, and other Knicks Beat Writers, the Starting Lineup you referenced appears to be the starting lineup. Within the 2nd unit though, Thibs seems to be leaning towards a 3-Guard alignment of Cam Payne, Deuce McBride, and Landry Shamet, alongside Precious and Jericho (until Mitch is healthy).
The player utilization is better if Duce starts instead of Hart. Q: Why? A: Koleck becomes the backup PG Cam Payne - SG Josh Hart - SF And now you don't have to play a player (Dadier) who isn't ready
That’s fair, but Thibs may also want Hart in the starting 5 to help make up for the rebounding they’ll be losing. KAT is solid, but OG and Bridges are not particularly known for their rebounding ability. Having Deuce in there over Hart would make them smaller and more prone to rebound issues.
Also Kolek is a much better facitator and can initiate the offense better than deuce. There was a significant drop off after JB went to the bench. No flow offensively. Deuce should now get the green light off the bench. His main job is scoring when he’s in the game with defense not far behind.
The media keeps pushing this narrative but upon further review he didn’t run them into the ground. If you’d like I can post in detail the nature of each injury, and the minute totals. To my surprise the minutes were relatively low and the injuries were mostly freak accidents
That’s false Thibs likes the players on his bench they can all defend Deuce Precious and Mitchell Robinson will all play. Cam Payne and Landry Shamet will have to earn his trust. Not too mention that a starter will be on the court with the bench either KAT Brunson or Mikal Bridge’s or even OG. They will be fine. You guys think about the game one way Thibs thinks defense and all of the bench with the exception of the two new guys have earned Thibs trust once he trust you he trust you. Nobody gonna change that except you.
