Can the 2026 F1 car BEAT the FASTEST F1 car EVER on the Nordschleife?!
The 2026 FIA Formula one car has been shown! One of the bigger changes is the new DRS/MOM system! MOM stands for Manuel Override Mode and is the successor of DRS (drag reduction system). This system is created to make overtaking even easier!
The Drag Reduction System - which has been a feature of grand prix racing since 2011 - will be no more from the end of next season. Instead it will be replaced by F1’s new ‘Manual Override Mode’. But what is it? And how does it work? I will showcase it to you in this video!

I mean people are giving the 2026 F1 car too much of a hard time, as it is still rapid in the straights, so will obviously be very fast overall. Fair enough it is a bit slow in the corners, but I feel that just because it is slower than the current F1 cars in the corners (which is of course to be expected, as downforce is reduced), people are giving it too hard a time. I think they should just increase the downforce a little bit more, but other than that, can't wait to see 2026 F1 racing
The teams will make some of the downforce back quite quickly
This car is way over modeled. They couldn’t get it to work normally so technically in the files it has something like peak 1900hp. The fact that the F2 was close to that overblown model is scary

The teams will haggle and suggest and improved performance will be guaranteed by the time the full ruleset is signed off on

8-10kph quicker in the corners. Looks like we're gonna have to make F2 slower again. Interestingly it was a few kph quicker in one of the slow corners, i guess the weight makes a huge difference and there's no big difference in mechanical grip.
Dude this is a game simulation, of a car that is going to be way more refined by the actual teams as the years go on. 2022 cars compared to 2024 isn’t even close, the teams have to optimize the car and find the designs that work and stay within the spec. They don’t just go and use the baseline car for the year.
A Car that is 7 seconds slower needs to be slowed down again because....

@@Meadowllander was it 7 seconds? Felt a lot shorter. Usually F1 will nerf F2 if the new regs make slower cars. I think they did it in 2014

if you cant get the logic, here let me help you, 30% less downforce, 30 kg less weight, 55% less drag, almost 100 more hp engine than the current cars. You really think it would be as slow as an f2 car?
The 2026 regs will make the cars have over 400Hp less (combustion engine, the ONLY REAL ENGINE that matters) than the current ones. They gonna be slo af. That thing about them being faster or just as fast as now on the straights is pure bs...
Theoretically it's the same horsepower... Will he hard to achieve in practice though. Definitely not more overall, not sure where you heard that
@AndresSztaba the Mod is going off of how the Hybrid system will work.
90% of the time the car will be putting 800hp to ground. Remember that battires 3x bigger but they've only doubled the power of the E Motor

What's the point of these? How do we know anything about how the new car will be two years before it comes out, especially in a game? You can make the model but the performance is purely guesswork, right?
We have the engine specs so that is accurate although the aero is mostly guesswork
Yeah it's definitely just a crapshoot. I think we're all just ready for something new in F1 and this is the first big step in the right direction in a long time so we're all excited.

@@diplomatofthesosbrigade931 Excited about more fuel usage restriction, lower quality fuels, meaning you're not going to have the same potential to make power out of the engine with the mandated fuel, overall more constraints in car design, as if there wasn't enough already... I don't get how on paper it all indicats to a worse product, yet some seem to like the prospect...
Idc if the 2026 cars are slow asf, as long as they slap in a V8 or a V10 at some point in the future it will be more than okay for it to be slow.

It's still going to be the Fastest thing on 4 wheels, this is a Very conservative Mod Given its based of the FIA rendering.
Real cars will only about 2-3 seconds slower then current cars which are 9 seconds faster then anything else on 4 wheels
Lets remain optimistic folks. We will get through this if they suck. And perhaps one day by the grace of the racing gods, pure petrol motors will return!

That's how it worked with the 2022 Regs, people are FAR to pessimistic about f1 nowadays
