Appreciate the kind words and comment, that’s fair but that’s not what I read, watched or gathered myself. That’s why the TIE interceptor and defender were such big upgrades in their own ways. Besides the shields or hyperspace upgrade, the two newer TIE models were big purge adds because of the maneuvering capabilities. @@MasterandApprentice I tend to agree with your viewpoint, personally. The TIE/LN is designed to essentially be cannon fodder, and have a high straight-line (or light curve) speed. The Interceptor is designed as a fighter-to-fighter ship, where the LN is designed as a swarm fighter. I do disagree with your point that the X-Wing is faster, though. TIE/LN Fighters have been shown to keep up with x-wings easily in pretty much every form of media. I do love the enthusiasm, though. Keep it up! (though maybe get a slightly better mic, it's kinda hard to hear you)
A huge shame about the TIE Fighter is that the expanded universe decreed that the it was garbage compared to the X-Wing even though if you watch the movie you don't get the sense that the rebels have the TIEs outclassed at all. Still, I can't say mowing through hordes of TIEs in X-Wing *isn't* fun.
