great video. 2 things- 1)when I clicked on it, I didn't expect that Frank Turner himself would be giving the lesson. Very cool. 2) This song was released right about the same time as I was getting out of the inpatient part of my rehab, and captures exactly what I needed to hear just when I needed to hear it. So, Frank, should you read this, thank you.
What a guy. I thought to myself "I wonder if anyone has taken the time to put up a how-to-play video for this awesome song" and wouldn't you know it, it's the fucking man himself. If only a tenth of artists out there were this thoughtful.
I fucking love this guy. His music has put a smile on my face when I've really needed it.
This not only a great lesson on how to play Recovery, but it is probably the best songwriting lesson I have seen in ages on UA-cam,
So glad I found this video ^^
Check out the first Ultimate Guitar tab. It's mine and it's correct. I'll soon be adding the riff-y verse he plays here :)
The B is EADGBe x20200
Saw this guy last week live he's incredible ! Xx
Frank, you’re a damn legend. I really wanted a how to video so I could learn this. “Recovery” is a song that really resonates with people who need to know how meaningful it is to pull themselves up. Thanks, friend.
frank should literally do this with every single one of his songs!
It's awesome that he took the time to do this! Great lesson and artist
I met Frank he was really nice guy
Thanks for posting I’ve got to learn this for my friends wedding 💒 x
Only Sleep Is for the Week and Love, Ire & Song have been tabbed out by Frank so far :)
Absolute LEGEND!!!!
great singer/song writer!
It wont let me post the link but go to his website and click the songs tab. Find the song you want and hit the download tablature link. There are chord charts to many of his songs there. Cheers!
Good stuff. I teach a slightly different version of the song in the key of G capo 2nd fret but you get all the climbing chordal/bass note references that Frank is making a point about in this lesson.
Thanks for posting this lesson, Frank. Very interesting creative work both musically and lyrically. Thanks. Maybe see you in Chicago.
thanks Frank....fucking appreciate the fact that you would take the time, you have a really good heart
i need more of these
Very cool, thanks Frank!
He does. Check out his website. He normally has the chord charts to all of his songs posted.
Found them on the forum; thanks a bunch thats really helped! Cheers dude!:)
Jandroid If you happen to still have the link, could you send it to me? Would be really awesome
Best video ever!!
Absolutely fucking love this Guys music
can u do a lesson for that part at 3:50?
Take and E minor and move the one finger off of the A string onto the D string, resulting in this shape X20200
"Uhh" *tries to remember own lyrics*
Nah it's cool though, happens to all of us
youre so fast, i always have to watch your videos in 0.75 speed, so it sounds normal to me 🙂
On the songs tab, I found the lyrics but not the download tablature link. Where is it located? Is it necessary to sign in to access that? I'm using a Safari browser.
Not all the songs have tab. I think anything from his last two albums hasn't been added yet.
Can someone please share the tab of this? Thanks! :)
Does anyone know how to do the strumming pattern I really want to learn this song but can’t figure it out 😭😂
I cant find them, could you please send the end of the link?:)
Looks so much like Eric Clapton when he was young.
that b minor chord at 0.50 has confused me
I was doing okay until about 4:06...
great song writer ,terrible teacher lolol , gotta speak slower , paused and be a little more clear on the message . don't take me wrong frank , you rule ! but not in the classroom
+Luis Mambrini It's an extremely simple song for anyone above a beginner guitar player. Seriously, A major scale chords. 1 through 4, the 5 to 1 in the chorus, then relative minor in the middle 8. You don't have to spend ages explaining every note.
rule even more ! thanks for the answer ! you deserve all the success in the world ....keep on rockin'
