The scam: An agent claiming to be from the IRS or "Tax Crime Investigation Department" will call and threaten you with jail or court charges for unpaid taxes. The scammer will attempt to get you to send money immediately through wire transfer or a prepaid card to clear the charges. Absolute scam, the IRS does not operate this way, all these people are scammers.

Lol I think I just got my very first scam call from India...I think it was an IRS scammer, the woman mentioned something about an audit. I asked if she could call back later. I need to refresh my memory and have a little time to prepare a script of my own, so I can waste as much of their time as possible. Wish me luck!

For years I've been wondering what's wrong with me, as I've never ever gotten a scam call...until today, when one fell from out of the blue right into my lap. I almost fell for a Craigslist scammer about 6 years ago... thankfully it looked a little suspicious to me, and after a quick Google search I saw it was a common scam tactic. When he asked for my address and phone number, I proved him with the local FBI field office address and phone number. I didn't hear from him again. 😎

The "officer" who picked up your call at 10:34 was expecting a call from an Indian(apparently familiar to him) and he says " Ha'n Bole Bhai" can be interpreted as "ye, continue what you were saying, brother" Only after you talk, he realizes who he was talking to.

I swear I got a call from one once telling me he was George Washington.
They start using fake Indian names , certified mail the number of victims will increase dramatically !
I actually made the mistake of assuming that a couple of years ago :l Normally the scam calls I got were in English from obvious Indians, but I did get one in Danish too one time. This one was in Danish from a guy with an Indian accent and he said his first name was a Danish one (forgot what) and he talked about a special offer they had and such. I was so suspicious, cause even though there was no reason for Danish + Indian voice to set off alarm bells, I had Indian voice set to "red flag" from experience as well as Indian accent + non-Indian name and being called by a company (it's never been common for legit companies to randomly call people with offers). He claimed to be calling from a fairly well-known company, so I said I'd think about the offer, went online and found the number for the company and asked if it was a legit call from one of their employees.
It was............ and I felt so bad :( Made me more angry with scammers than anything else though. 10 years ago, I wouldn't have doubted that guy. Now, every call I get from someone I don't personally know, even in Danish puts me on edge because scamming has become so weirdly popular...

I was at Target the other day and there was this lady with her little girl in my line buying 20 iTunes cards. I think she paid like $300 for them. I thought about asking if she's trying to pay off her "IRS debt" with them or she's just buying them as Christmas gifts. There were a couple more people in front of me and I didn't wanna intrude or disturb the other customers. I was hoping she'd still be around after I paid for my stuff but by then she was gone. I kinda feel bad right now :( I really hope those cards were gifts for her family.

in the past week my phone has been getting call after call from all sorts of different scammers yet they are all asking for " Mary ". so finslly yesterday I decided to do my best hoax hotel and have some fun . I love it. they offered me a federal grant of 3000 snd a vacation , lucky me!
the script of the scam IRS is basically this:
1.were real!
2.SMS you number and name now
3. go to the moneygram
4. getting angry because of you.
6.swearing
7.ether hanging up or
rumbling
8.6 and 7
9.ultra madness and hangs up

If you don't want to get scammed, then use your commonsense. Legitimate state agencies are not going to call you in lieu of wanting money. If you want to stop the scammer, then get creative on how you can piss them off. They hate having their time wasted.
