2016 Mini Cooper Clubman S UNBOXING Review - It's So Much Cooler Than Any Crossover

- For our latest unboxing review, we got our hands on the second generation Mini Cooper S Clubman, a wagon that's not only fun to drive but also offers the space and utility of a crossover. Only difference? It's not jacked up a few inches off the ground. No need for that because the Clubman isn't for off-roading (neither are crossovers, for that matter).
Powered by a spunky 2.0-liter turbocharged four banger with 189 hp and 217 lb-ft of torque, the Clubman S is a great answer to those looking for something different but have no intention of adding yet another crossover to their suburban neighborhoods. Ditching the suicide door setup of the first generation Clubman, this one has more conventional rear doors and, of course, those extremely convenient and quirky rear "barn doors." Honestly, there isn't much about the Clubman S we didn't like, except for one thing: price. Remember, Mini is owned by BMW and, therefore, you're going to pay a premium. But is the Clubman S worth that premium? Find out in our latest review.

I bought a two year old 2016 Clubman. It's gently used and it is everything you say and more. It's great to go back and read reviews and nod my head in agreement. I have the base model. It is still fun and quite zippy!
Is it manual or automatic?
Awesome review! The most complete covering all details! I was thinking about purchasing this baby coming from an Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. I love the sporty and go kart feel of this Clubman S. Thumbs Up!
Power seats with memory are available as an option.
Clubman is exact same length as VW Golf. Golf Sportwagen is much longer.
We're comparing wagons to wagons, not wagons to hatchbacks.

What's the difference, if not the total length? What you said makes no sense.
Gotta love that start switch
and when you put your foot on the clutch it illuminates really brightly
I actually like this car too
Love this! Have you reviewed the 2022 clubman?
Hi, I am not here to hate. love the video, but the pause in between some of your sentences is kinda annoying to listen to. anyone else experiencing this..?
I think the breaks are okay, from what I've observed is brother gets all his footage & pieces it together in the way he wants & does voice overs on the footage & that's his style of reviewing. I will agree there are some long breaks
Thijs Dijkstra Yesss
I do lol
Why do you keep pausing?
It looks kinda nice
Rogue Gamer1 i think it has less of the minimalism
Yes but no more Gazoline get it E.V ONLY and fast
the additional packages as you call them, or add ons are a bmw thing... thats where bmw makes all their money
Clubbman and the VW pretty much stand alone in the market. There is little to no pride of ownership when it comes to a Nissan, Kia or any other near market competitors. Options outside of packages used to be the norm. I loathe a package. I prefer to pick exactly what I want in my car. YMMV. I own the 3 cylinder, that engine mated to the 8 speed is quite capable. Not to mention the tuneability of it. You can easily piggy back another 40hp into it on the cheap. The 3 cylinder is lighter than the 4 cylinder. Defintely don't discount them.
I find it ugly. Those rear doors look like they came off a smeg refrigerator. Also, too low, for many people, a bit of a strain on the back. Not really something Us Brits can be proud of. Oh no, its German isn't it?
