    Love the date under the Captain's portrait. "1860-1902" she reads ... that would make him aged 42 when he passed, although the portrait looks more like he's 82. Must have been quite weathered from the sea ... LOL! 😅 Been thinking n a "One Step Beyond" bender lately, just can't see enough of these great shows! 🥰

      I had to listen to her saying the date twice to make sure she was saying "1860" instead of "1816". Yes, he would have been around 42 when he died.

      I believe that the date under the captains' portrait is referring to the years he was a captain. The portrait was not his tombstone, citing his birth and death as a person. He might not have become a captain before he was in his 40's.

      'The Peter Hurkos Story' = The Dead Zone
      'The Clown' = IT
      'Make me not a Witch' = Carrie
      'The Burning Girl' = Firestarter and Carrie
      'The Inheritance' and 'The Lovers' = Christine
      'The Reunion' = The Night Flier
      'The Tiger' = Cat's Eye & Cat People
      'If you see Sally' = Pet Cemetary
      'Encounter' = Llangoliers
      'The captains Guest' = The Shining
      The list goes on...
      No wonder Steven King has such a long list of book productions, with so many One Step Beyond episodes to plagiarize!

    Dragged along the bottom of the ship? Barnacles attacked him?

    • @anonagain
      @anonagain 4 роки тому +9

      From Wikipedia:
      Keelhauling is a form of punishment and potential execution once meted out to sailors at sea. The sailor was tied to a line looped beneath the vessel, thrown overboard on one side of the ship, and dragged under the ship's keel, either from one side of the ship to the other, or the length of the ship
      ...Keelhauling amounted to a sentence of either death by extreme torture, or minimally a physical trauma likely to permanently maim. The hull of the ship was usually covered in barnacles and other marine growth, and thus, keelhauling would typically result in serious lacerations, of which the victim could later suffer infection and scarring... there was also a risk of head trauma from colliding against the hull or keel...and a risk of drowning.

Reminds me a wealthy intelligent man from Holland, Stef Van den Aerde alias of Ad Beers, who encountered aliens while sailing with his family. His wife told him to leave but he didn’t listen. He went into their saucer, his life changed 180• degrees and died a lonely and crazy man. Trust the gut feeling no matter how appealing it looks. Curiosity killed the cat…

      I spilled a cocktail on my sweater that left a stain behind. Does that count as a "spirit attaching itself to an inanimate object?"

    I dunno what's more ridiculous ;
    a) that they decided to rent the house after looking at just ONE room
    or
    b) that they paid $500 monthly rental ( equivalent to more that $5K in 2022)

      I believe that the date under the captains' portrait is referring to the years he was a captain. The portrait was not his tombstone, citing his birth and death as a person. He might not have become a captain before he was in his 40's.

    OSB would be better without Newland's intros, he can't compare to Serling.

      A different show, and it's stupid to think that he had to be exactly like Serling. Newland's presentation was perfect for this show.
