the last i have seen a m3 was by marble hill and it was an express to croton. that was february 18th, 2020. that day actually, i was going to SV lol and taking the PASC valley line to hoboken with my uncle. i still have the bus/MNR/NJ transit tickets.
I live close to this station and yankee stadium station and can really say not many trains stop here at melrose. Reasons are cause of short platform and close proximity to other subway stations.

The trains with the sort-of-red stripe are those that run to CT, as far as New Haven. I believe they're owned by CTDOT and operated by MNRR. They have pantographs on top that are raised when they switch from 3rd rail to overhead wire.

At one time the Port Morris Branch ran from here to Oak Point Yard in the Bronx
