I don't feel like a real musician

- Where in your life do you struggle with imposter syndrome? Maybe you don't feel qualified to call yourself an artist because your place on that path is different than everyone else's. Maybe you're going through a season of reflection or a season where you have to focus on something else, and you're not able to spend enough time with what you truly love doing.
Whatever the situation may be, we all go through moments where we struggle to validate the work we do within our passion. Listen to Max today as he shares about this topic from his perspective as a musician.

great video all throughout
So glad you think so!
Thank you!
This video came right when I needed it! Thank you Max once again for such a thoughtful video. My nuggets as you so succinctly made at the end are: 1) draw on the wisdom that comes naturally to me & 2) make good comparisons. This was quite a revolutionary video. Excited for more 🎉
“Making good comparisons” was such a helpful and nuanced way of looking at the issue of comparison!
we wish we were you
very good points too
@@Jesushairguy thank you! that's very kind and affirming.
Insightful video! Oddly enough i was watching a different passionfroot video where my comment applies lol we're the only ones who can define qhat something is for ourselves. Everyone will have a different definition for musician. All the way from i learned a few chords in highschool to a musician is someone who plays for 1000s of people.
We are generally our worst critics and hold ourselves to higher standards. In these situations i always ask "if a friend came to me in a similar situation what would i say to them".
Cause you consider me a musician and technically ive only ever released one of my own songs lol
Yeah I still use you as a reference point for what it looks like to "make it" and have a career playing music "out and about." But I understand that we all have different metrics.
Also for what it's worth, STTS is your songs too bro. You were very much a part of the band.
@@MaxwellKozen it's worth a lot :) and ya varying metrics are not a bad thing. It's deciding which metric to go with. Or realizing that the metric can and will change over time.
When I was single my metric for success was based on being able to spend my time however I wanted. Now that I'm married with a kid I would be very happy to put a few songs out a year or an album every few years. That would be very successful to me now. But not at 23
Bro chill with the audio spoilers 👀
Nobody is going to notice 🤫
@@MaxwellKozen nobody's gonna notice that 19:40-19:49 and 20:52-20:59 are ... things that haven't been heard before?
@@KOZENMUSIC now who's giving out spoilers?
We're down for more spoilers...@@MaxwellKozen
