Corfu is a special place to travel in Greece - it's an established enough island there's loads of things to do, not too hard to find what to do in Corfu online, has loads of different beach options ( Rovinia is our fav!), a beautiful old town and some of the best beaches we've seen in terms of water clarity. On the other hand, it still feels very local and raw!
We went to a few beaches in Corfu and this day was our favourite beach - this was called Rovinia beach, it's definitely one of the more local spots in Corfu and it's also less commercialised... which we love.
The Corfu Old Town is something you can't really miss, much like anywhere else in Greece, it's worth exploring the old town to get a feel for that contrast between the old and new. Admittedly after a day at the beach it was hard for us to appreciate the city vibe after being in nature, but Corfu old town is particularly beautiful.

Could you please do a travel video to Bari it Italy? My family moved from here in the 1950's and I've always wanted to go and see it. It is a fishing village and has some of the most amazing architecture built houses, which I think you would love. Plus, it's not far from where you are now :)

I have not been to Corfu yet either, but it is the home of the University for the best interpreters and translators in Greece. I am actually from England, but I learned Greek two years ago… Because I was afraid of my dentist, who is Greek. So I learned Greek during a root canal… And things just kind of went from there. Anyway, there is a lot of paperwork to do when you want to be a full-time University student in Greece so I am still waiting… But one of the places I did want to apply to was to the university in Corfu. I speak nine languages in total, Greek was the last one I learned. I can speak Vietnamese, Thai, and quite a few of the other European languages. But my favorite language, by far, is Greek. By the way, I am visually impaired, and I am dictating this message, so if there are any mistakes, please excuse the iPad.

Wow! My exchange sister and I were just in Corfu! La Grotta was a great place to swim and chill (especially after my sis got sunburnt). We also went in the old fortress, but quite late at night. So even though it said it was closed online, the guards let us in. 😂 We even got to hear piano and violin coming from the music school at the fortress.
Oh that would have been good to know we could have still gone in! Glad you both had an amazing time in Corfu, very special place

I speak Greek, and I spend plenty of time here. It is usual to be given water at coffee shops, and sometimes cookies or something else as well.
Go to Lefkada Island, you'll be blown away by the beaches there. Lefkada has the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
We went to Paxos and Antipaxos (in the video we upload today) hard to say the water would be any better than those 2!

I've travelled a lot and I'll tell you now, there is something very, very special about Corfu. Such a shame you only had a day there.

They always serve water with the coffee in Greece
i believe they do that almost everywhere at least in my country its a must
Not bottled water (that they then charge your for) from our experience 🤔
@@DanegerAndStacey In some places they do. They charge you 50 cents.
Same with bread in restaurants, they ll bring you anyway and charge you 1 - 1,5 euro.
You can tell them you dont want it otherwise they ll bring itm.
Same with bottles of alcohol.

My parents spent their silver wedding anniversary on Corfu back in 1977 and absolutely loved it - from your fantastic vlog, I can see why. That water was incredibly clear - the nearest I've seen to that was off the Amalfi coast in Italy, but I don't think it was as clear as this! 9:45 - sums up why you guys live this life!
Can only imagine just how magical it was in 77. We spoke with our airbnb host about when tourism started, he thought it was about early 70's and it was slow and an 'interesting' crowd of gypsies starting the trend. Wish we could have seen that!
I been to corfu, and paxos antipaxox in may and June. It was amazing, so beutifull. Paradise on earth, will dffo go again.
Is the water always cold? What time of year was this?
Been to Corfu about 20 times its a great place and the local people are Amazing and make you feel like your part of their family .

I went to sidari to it was excellent
Corfu looks insanely beautiful. And not very touristy given it's high season. Always a plus in my book.

@@christinabingham1012 Hello Christina the waters are not always cold but it depends of the winds blowing the previous days and the currents. It’s fresh cold not breezing cold . This year that i was working there again the waters were pretty fine until end of October !! Happy new year ! Hope to be there this year too

Special place, isn't it. Have you been to Corfu? We skipped it the last few times so decided it was worth the visit this time
Yes had a holiday in paleokastritsa many years ago now but loved it for all the coves and hide beaches. Would highly recommend you try getting a interail Greek ferry pass so you can explore even more and a bit cheaper than a planned sailing trip. Every island has a different feel, so may hidden gems to explore
Looks absolutely beautiful (we visited exactly that same place just last year) had a fantastic time....only regrets....wish we could have stayed longer! 😊

I loved this video! It was especially welcomed due to my 3 smoke detectors decided to go off at 2, and just found out how to turn them off. Feel free to mix in longer videos. I’ve heard that statically people like short videos, but yours creat such a nice vibe, I want it to continue longer. That’s provided you have enough you’d want to show.

Yessss you captured some amazing footage of one of my favourite islands in Greece!!! When you guys have more time next time you visit, you should definitely get a ferry to the small islands of Paxos & Antipaxos just off the coast of Corfu and similar to Corfu where you'll find some of the most pristine clear waters and amazing scenery just a lot smaller! Great video! :)

My favourite island. I stayed mainly in Agios Georgios. Corfu old town is beautiful.
Definitely a different feeling here vs some of the other larger islands

back in the 90's the Greek Tourism Organization was running ads in major newspapers such as the New York Times, where i saw it, saying , "come to Greece, see why the Gods chose it as their home' !!! right on i thought !!! i also remember the non stop concerts from the birds and crickets !!!
Sounds like those ads still hold true! At least more so in a place like Corfu with less tourists, more raw, more natural.
man I miss this place, went over the summer and it was the best vacation I've ever went on
*They always serve water with coffee in Corfu, at least that's what I have experienced anyway. Locals will drink tap water but tourists aren't always keen in case it upsets their stomach, so they give bottled water instead. If you don't open it, they won't charge you for it*

corfu is the birthplace of prince phillip mountbatten the husband of the british queen .
he was born as prince phillip of greece and would have become king of greece eventually , but he had to give up his title when he married the queen.
How much more green and lush are the Ionian islands compared to the Cyclades (Mykonos etc.)?? Hands down my favourite part of Europe. You have to visit the rest too.

That beach is great - the water is just stunning ! But you haven't been to Antipaxi yet (Voutoumi Beach) : when you go in your cruise you 're gonna be amazed, the water is even more clear and it looks like a piscine. Have been to Paxi-Antipaxi & Blue Caves by a 1day cruise boat when I was staying in Parga and it was a great experience!!! Enjoy your cruise!!

Ohhhh, guys 😍 Corfu looks amazing! I’ve been in Cyprus and really want to go back to Greece. And here I am -2020- watching this video and almost crying as this year I had to cancel trip to Montenegro and Croatia and also to my native country. Hope next year will be much better in everything ❤️

@@DanegerAndStacey The old town & fortress is the same, no surprise there. I saw the building that the clay pots get thrown out of and just laughed. It's an Easter thing just on the island, I think there are videos on it, my description won't do justice. I think the same gelato place is still there. We stayed in town, so never saw your beach. I had gotten a 2am call from my cousin(lives in Athens) saying get we area going there for Easter, want to come? I did, my work partner heard my call and she came along too.
Corfu Easter by Corfu-Greece Video is a nice overview of Easter. I think it was May, best tomatoes & cucumbers! It's something about the soil. Some feta, bread, olives and I'm happy.

I live 300m from the beach in Perth and been probably been twice in 10 years. Terrified of being eaten lol. But I believe there aren't sharks in the med. Please tell me this is so.

Been to 3 Greek islands. Crete was my fave, went on a boat cruise to an island called Spinalonga which is an ex Leper colony. As i got off the boat onto the island i put a new film in my camera. When we got home and had the films developed only one of the 24 shots on Spinalonga had developed, which was of the.........Gravestones!!!!! Oooohhhh :p

We need to update our equipment page sorry guys - we use the GH5 exclusively for vlogging. In the water was our Sony action cam but it's playing up at the moment (audio dramas as you heard). Stace uses the Sony a6400 for our photos for IG and IG stories.

That's a good looking option! If it's cheap enough vs the cost of a full frame or GH5/GH9 then it would be worth it. The shots and stabilisation on the mark 2 we used for some time at the start of our channel was great

Did you visit after the storm wave that hit Greece not long time ago? That would explain the cold water, otherwise should be much warmer this time of the year. Loved the vlog, want to visit Corfu for a long time.
Actually Corfu is notorious for having cold water... still the beaches are very beautiful though.
