There's some Marvel movies that have a gorgeous bit of silent storytelling in them. Vision picking up Mjolnir like it's nothing is a good one, but my favourite is in this movie - Mantis putting her hand on Drax's shoulder when he's not laughing, and just quietly breaking into uncontrollable tears. That's so powerful and understated.
Even though we are introduced to Drax as having lost his wife and daughter - he is used so much for comedic relief, that moment with Mantis really hits.
I will always love the scene when Mantis empathize with Drax when he's talking about his family. Drax's face shows him in calm, but on the inside he's still grieving.
@@pixiedustreactions9413 it's theorized that Ego kept her alive because she could stabilize his emotions, which makes sense as she is seen putting him to sleep. Ego also possibly could've killed her mother just like Meredith leading her to be an orphan or he just lied to her about it.

Great reaction, There is a theory that Peter and Mantis are half siblings, because when Ego shows Peter all the species with which he had a child one of them was from Mantis, then it is said that he saw that she had a part of his power, that is why she is able to put him to sleep, since she is more powerful than another person of her species, for that reason he adopted her, since he could use her
It is different in the original comics. Ego is unrelated to Peter. And Peter becomes Starlord after having been a NASA astronaut. He is still half alien but his father is called Jason and is the emperor of a planet called Sparta. Also, Groot was originally a villain and king of his own planet who originally tried to take over Earth and talked in full sentences. Drax was a human who was killed with his family at the hands of Thanos and was brought back as somebody whose purpose was to destroy him. Mantis was also a human but got her powers from Kree procedures. And Rocket is similar but he has a British accent.
