Nokia Luma Windows Phones such as this Nokia Lumia 635 were far from the peak smartphone technology, but were Windows phones that bad? Well let's see if Nokia phones back in the day were that bad, or if these smartphones were ahead of their time in the world of tech?

Compare this to phones of similar price range in 2014 and you would realize it's 10x better that anything you could get at that time
So iPhones, Samsung's and other brands don't exist?
@@K_240YT software wise?..windows is on par with iPhones when it comes to optimization and way better than Android (except flagships of course).. use it to believe it..512mb ram at that time , windows works really well even for an entry level windows phone..i have Lumia 520 and still works fine until they stopped their support 😞😞 sad..overall, i think what he's saying is, windows is a very capable phone at that time so you're having 3 options at that time (Windows Phone, Android phone, or Apple)..
@@jethmercer2532 I’ll agree the windows phones at the time were really good phones. I had a lumia 800 when I was 16 and still to this day, it’s been one of my favourite phones. Although, I did switch to apple, due to the windows store have very little apps.
@@jethmercer2532if it trully was that great, it wouldn’t have flopped. The truth is, most people prefered other phones and their features
You are right
Last I checked, that's not the only Nokia Lumia that was ever released.
Fun fact: the lumia 1020 takes better pictures than a lot of modern phones
Well its a budget phone only 50 dollars
110€
Umm you know that this was a low end WP at the time??
I was a big fan of Windows phone from its release until end of support in 2019. I really value my privacy and there were no known hacking tools for the Windows phones. The Nokia Lumia 940 was durable and had a swappable battery, so I always had spare OEM batteries and a charging cradle from Amazon. The bing maps worked great in many countries in offline mode with searchable addresses and POIs without any data connection, just downloaded the map files and traveled. My Lumia went to six continents with me including mainland China, Myanmar and a few other places where I didn't want the regimes snooping into my data. Sure, it wasn't the best st everything but it worked well for me!
But this was a low end device 🤔 I still use mine (for listening to audiobooks) and it works great, even tho it's a phone from 2014 (I updated it to Windows 10 so arguably it's even better than before) ✨
If we compare it to same price motorola moto E then we can see it was good phone. That lumia had 4g connection, 512mb or 1g ram, 8g memory, clear black display, recorded 780p 30fps, had snapdragon 400 and windows phone 8.1. Moto had 3g connection, 1g ram, 4g memory, recorded 480p 30fps, had snapdragon 200 and android 4.4.2. windows phone 8.1 was much more modern than android and was a lot faster.
Why is the screen terrible? The UI?
Just doesn't look great seeing how it's a 480 x 854 res screen that's a couple of gens old now.
Compare it to 2014 low end android phone... Then that will look great
It's a budget phone, you realize that right? The Lumia phones were much better optimised for the chipset they came with and as such were faster and more reliable tham any android budget phone at the time. I had the flagship model of 2012 though. The lumia 920. A beautifull phone. One that was arguably the most advanced phone of its time. Sharper display than the iphone (while simultaniously also being bigger), the first ever phone to introduce optical image stabilisation, a refresh rate TWICE that of the iphone, the only flagship that came with wireless charging at that time and the first ever phone to come with super sensitive touch (you could operate it with ski gloves on, something revolutionary at the time). So these phones were quite good.
I don't think this is fair.. it's a low end device.. 😅 Windows OS is also well optimized at that time too and i think they are better optimized than Android at that time..the only problem is the lack of apps..
Lumias were waaay ahead of their time. Battery, design, camera...you name it.
That was like a 53x/63x-range phone, so pretty low end.
it was a low end unit FYI.
Can anyone tell me the model of this Lumia in the video?
Try again with lumia 930
Nokia Lumia 920 has bottom holes for speaker
bro go and check lumia 925, and tell me if iphone can beat the camera quality😎👍
man i had a 925 in 2017 it was good it ran so smooth
Was it just me or did the phone smell weird? Maybe the plastic they used?
it was the best phone. till the date
Lol i still have it
I had one and it's a Lumia 610 and it was NOT BAD AT ALL
Maybe back then it was pretty good but now since there are phones that can play fucking assassins Creed Valhalla
