I have to say, the Ballet Master is one of the most empathetic instructors I’ve seen. It honestly seems like he understands that the dance is difficult, and that these dancers are trying their hardest. It’s honestly amazing to watch
this is exactly the kind of instructor I need to work with best: - corrects immediately - explains why he corrects - explains in visuals - is very vocal - praises (to boost morale)
Have anyone noticed the piano player? I was totally amaze by his/her skills and how he had caught up with dacers and instructor's order in literally every second.
They are all exceptionally talented, which probably goes some way to explaining why getting a ticket to see one of these performances will set your back like £300 or something
I love how patient he is with the students, he doesn’t yell or do anything to make the dancers feel uncomfortable. This is what a teacher should do, and it’s obvious that all the students respect him with is also a huge part of class.
The moment you realize the instructor is the man who plays the King of Hearts... wow, I nearly couldn't recognize. Such a great dancer, actor and instructor.
I know that from my experience in ballet you are concentrating on many things at once and sometimes you’re barely able to take in every correction the instructor makes at once.
If you noticed in 1:35. She supposed to do that... Look, let's put the ladies numbers. 1 to 8. Starting from the right with the blonde one (Natalie Harrison). The 1, 3, 5 and 7 had to pull the tongue out, following the music and once the first one did it, the 3rd one did it, consecutively and then 8, 6, 4, and 2 to had to open their mouths with the tongue out. So when Ballerina no. 2 (Leti Stock) opened her mouth, it was her turn. She wasn't messing up.
I can't even describe how excited it makes me to watch this rehearsal! Something about the music, the pacing, the speed and staccato beat of the choreography- it just makes me feel a bit giddy! 😊 So much respect for these amazing dancers and their incredible director! 💗
Entraya Crosshill I'm a competition dancer, and I've had one or two dances in a similar style. It can be really hard but after doing it enough you have muscle memory of the dance.
I have to mention, I really love the videos where Christopher Saunders is running the rehearsal. His instructions are clear and constructive, and he adds a little humor. Seems like a lovely teacher and person to work with.
it always amazes me how the dancers correct themselves to the instructor mid-dance while still remembering choreo, placing and the instructions they were given before.

I've watched this in it's entirety about 20 times and my eyes *always* go to the blonde in dark green oh my GOSH. Admittedly, the camera shows mostly the stage right side, but STILL. Her attitude and flair is so flawless I LOVE it!!! (Also, the blonde in royal blue, particularly at 1:44 deserves a shoutout for the same reason *y a s* )
"And down is not just with the eyelids"😂 This rehearsal is full of great funny statements from the instructor (who btw is wonderful, encouraging, vocal, giving good constructive corrections, not tearing anyone down)

Great - what a long time since I danced any ballet (not professional) but I love it and this ballet especially. I could not believe how enjoyable anything could be when I and a friend went to see it one afternoon just after it had first been performed . The backcloths, the characters, the way things had been made, and the special effects, are so marvelous you have to concentrate a little harder than usual on the dance and the story. The music is brilliant. This look at some of the rehearsals is interesting. What hard work but, as a person watching the ballet, it certainly pays off. It must be a thoroughly exhausting ballet to dance - aren't they all? What fun it is.

I'm usually not a big fan of contemporary ballet, but this looks very interesting. The ballet master is quite compelling also. He's able to give concise corrections without being hateful. That's a talent in itself!!.
I saw this wonderful production over Christmas (2020) and fell in love with Ballet, so much grace and agility. It was my first time watching a full ballet and I didn’t want it to end. When this pandemic is done, I want to go and see a production live. It has made me appreciate what I’ve temporarily lost. To everyone involved, respect. Keep safe everyone ♥️♣️
Idk why but I keep rewatching this over and over again I love the costumes in the beginning love the instructor, the piano player, the ensemble but I wish they had the full dance uploaded

Carleigh Nielsen he had to shout so they can all hear him

I agree. He's a teacher that motivates you the right way.
