No mobiles or internet (UA-cam), when I started out fishing, just Angling Times and the likes :) Came back to my beloved sport a year or so ago, after about 20ish years. How invaluable it is! Nice vid, thank you!
Great video. I’ve had 20 years out and much has changed ... appreciated And I’m impressed . 2:00 No way could Andy may have said that with a straight face. Well done 👍🏽
I would recommend to put the bottom end stop on the pole when fishing, to protect the relatively fragile (and expensive!)carbon material of the pole. Great video for anglers not familiar with pole fishing. (There is no fishing like pole fishing!!!) Best regards from Holland and tight lines!
Just an update, caught some bream, mirror carp, crucian carp. Thank you again. Absoloutley spot on. Didn't realise wind can blow it like it did ha ha. Thanks again super happy now beer time
Some good tips for those starting pole fishing kayleigh, one thing I do when I am fishing is to carry an empty pill bottle or small sweet tin such as the ones travel sweets come in to put any waste line and hooks into so I can dispose of them safely
Brilliant thank you. I've just started pole fishing after trying it on holiday. Absolutely love it. I'm 51yrs old and I'm collecting my tackle from my dad and my son lol. I'll be asking my brother too lol. I'm making a list 🤣
Great video Kayleigh !! I’ve been away from fishing for many years and only ever float fished! Been back fishing now a few months and have just purchased my first ever pole the Preston edge monster and I love it really enjoying pole fishing and looking forward too trying more methods in future :)
If you ever get the oppertunoty to try bread surface fishing, depending on venue and if they allow it (rules). I reccomend it pole fishing. Just get some main line or whatever break you want, attach a hook (reccomend knotless knot) straight to your connector, no float etc. Bread about size bigger than a two pence piece or an old shilling, fold it, hook through the middle and flat it out. Just let it float on top, few free offerings, they catch themselves. Tight lines. 👍✌🇬🇧
Nice one Kayleigh! I bought one over a year ago, still in its bag unused, with all the Covid and restrictions last year I didn't use it or fish once, this year I'll definitely use it, thanks for the help:)
Thank you so much! This was really helpful to me as, after a lifetime of fishing with a rod, my family bought me a pole for my 70th birthday. I really admire the way you handled that pole in the wind!
3:04 I’ve just bought an x70 with a similar bag to yours, what top kit case have slid in there, I love being sorted with my tackle and that arrangement looks very tidy 👍
omg i felt sorry for you with that rubbish weather and having to film but you carried on and got the video done. Im only a fine weather pleasure angler so well done to you.
Nice video, I would just like to show fishing beginners how to set fishing line - lead and the difference when it falls quickly or slowly in the water column. And when to use it. But it's my opinion. Eric.
Kayleigh. I am asking a question for anglers new to pole fishing. You put 4 sections together in this video. If putting a 16m pole together would you start at the 16m section or the No3 section ie thicker diameter to thin or the other way around, thinner o thicker section? Thanks in advance
@Kayleigh Dowd Fishing thanks. I will pass it onto him. I think he's just a tad worried re cracking or splitting if doing it incorrect as he got the XS70 16M for Xmas. I told him how I do it, I start at the no3 and go back from that. Thanks for replying, much appreciated 👌
Hello Kayleigh Very delicate fishing with a large rod in the presence of wind. To this end, are you in favor of positioning a sinker above the float for its stability? Always informative video! Hello from France.
If you meant when the fish is on, then it’s to tighten the elastic and add more pressure to bring the fish in quicker. If you meant after you’ve caught the fish and before you ship out again the. What Kayleigh already said.
Pushing that pole out all the time would drive me mad, can't you just put a big reel on it and fly your line out 200yrds? Get in the middle of a big lake?🙁
One day last year, Fidelb went fishing. He mixed up the suitcases and instead of a fishing rod took the guitar with him. #Fidelb sang his sad songs all night to the neighboring fishermen. And they fed him with his fried fish and singed whiskey... 🤓 He came home in the morning and opened his channel. So come to me...

I died when she said that lol
I can never look at pole fishing the same way again😂😂
Kayleigh no doubt has an innocent mind lol
Aye up lass! Great video introduction to pole fishing full of useful content. Your talent as a coach is shining through 👍
Poetry in motion Kayleigh, you make it look easy. ✌❤ Bob.

Excellent video thanks, I don't own a pole but watching this looks so tempted.

Just an excellent video.

Very good video, thank you 👍😁
6:32 in the old days there were stonfo connections why is the Dacron better?
It kicks your rig away from the pole and helps reduce it wrapping round your pole especially when your shallow fishing 🎣
Doing well lass but dont ship up pole water edge section ends in drink and no noise edge water great job teaching like your shows x
great video im abit scared to use a pole incase a fish pulls the top kit off
Sniff sniff 😷 full of cold int morning, well done looks cold and windy, I'd have wrapped in and made the video six months later 🤣

Hi, it does not matter too much which end you start as long as the male end of the section goes into the female end 👍
Hi quiet question the pellets your using are they hard or expanding
Can you tell me where you got the top section holder for your road bag please ?
Its a preston top kit case 👍
i which i had that video 20 years ago
What happens if you take to much line off or its more than 3 metres deep,if adding extra line to the rig, more knots ??
Hello Kayleigh
Very delicate fishing with a large rod in the presence of wind. To this end, are you in favor of positioning a sinker above the float for its stability? Always informative video! Hello from France.
That's the back shot she mentions at 11:10. Tight lines
That wind looked right cold. A bit of a cliche, but I genuinely put some sleeves on watching this. Really did make me feel cold.
Thats coold
Fair play,I'd say it wasn't easy filming that day
why do you pull on the elastic when you've caught a fish. What does that do please?
It just stops the elastic dangling out of the pole
@@KayleighDowdFishing oh right, its like winding in on a reel to take up slack. Nice one.

@@DaveLippy when the fish was on... cheers.
Made me laugh luvly chubby.....😂😂😂😂😂
Great video I always love your content and always pop a like on it my channel is not nearly matched up in the quality section!
You sounded like you were frozen out there
It was a bit of a cold one 🥶🧊
Pushing that pole out all the time would drive me mad, can't you just put a big reel on it and fly your line out 200yrds? Get in the middle of a big lake?🙁
Obviously
Handkerchief 😝
Good vid but I bet you wish you were at home in front of the fire and a hot chocolate 🥶

Cause we're gonna catch a cold girl.
