I absolutely agree with the total electrification of our railways. I leave my electric car alone when I’m away and use trains and buses as everyday transport on holiday.
I am so surprised that Virgin Trains is coming back. And I think it’s good for Southeastern to start thinking about replacing the Class 465 and Class 466 with brand new trains.
I like the way Virgin have pointed out how complicated the tickets are pretty rich as it was largely Sir Richard Branson that made them so complicated when he ran Cross Country,West Coast and later East Coast.He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a railway.
Under a hopefully Labour government, I would love to see Virgin Trains return not only to the running of the West Coast mainline but also the services of XC that's Cross Country for those who weren't perhaps sure what I was meaning. Cross Country operating many services between Aberdeen and the South Coast of England to places like Penzance, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Southampton and Reading but including cities such as Exeter, Bristol, Bath, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carlisle, Lancaster and Preston.
In my opinion, it's windows what people want on the trains, not air conditioning, I remember being on a few 195's during summer with broken air conditioning, not a comfortable ride at all! Windows are far more reliable. I miss slam door trains like the 101's, 108's etc, those were nice and cool during summer because of their windows.

Why don’t virgin trains or proper mainline services (under a different provider) have services from Southport to capital and goodness knows what. I heard many years ago (before my time) , a train went from Southport to London via bootle junction to join Line from lime street and the rest was done
