  • I bought a Quick Change Tool Post for my Mini Lathe from Chronos in the UK (same product is available from other suppliers). In this video I unbox it and take a quick look.

It is nice to have some shiny new items for a change when you are so used to buying second hand items 😁👍

Yes indeed. I do find lathe stuff from time to time at car boot sales , but it makes sense just to buy stuff I need rather than hoping I might just find it. 😀 Thanks

@@mrrgstuff one of those facts of life, if you want it they never show up. If you don't want it, you are never sure whether to buy it when you see it, just in case you might want it in the future. 😆

Would love to have a mini lathe but I don’t have the shop space. Oh well I’ll just have to watch you use yours. Congrats on the tool post, having been a machinist apprentice (saw a huge lathe let loose of a part and send it through a wall and decided there were other things to do in my life to make money) they are great time savers and safer than shims.

It was a bit of a squeeze getting it into my workshop but worth it I think. It's proving to be quie useful and a definite size improvement over my other little lathe. The chuck on the older one did let go from time to time so I had a few scary moments, but nothing compared to what you describe!
Anyway the QCT is fitted and working well and there will be another video on this at some point in the future. 😀 Thanks
