This tutorial will show you how to perform power loops with your quadcopter or other multirotor. Power loops are simple to do, but without seeing what somebody else's sticks are doing, they can be a bit of a mystery at first. This video includes sticks overlay so that you can see exactly what my sticks are doing.
lol - I certainly mastering powering full speed into the ground
haha but have you mastered full speed to ground 4 point simultaneous motor contact upside down?....it was so glorious I quit the hobby for three days
sigma power loop
After struggling to do this trick im glad i you made this video. Didnt realize the trick was to keep that pitch angle the same all the way throught the loop. Hence the reason its a LOOP. Thank you!!
awesome tips! just got my dji fpv so I will watch and learn as much as I can here
Truly enjoy your videos man, without them, I do not believe I would have as deep an understanding of PIDS, BB, stick movements as I do. I naturally have the "feel" of how to do certain things, but some things I watch you guys do and wonder "how do they do it so smooth?" Well, Enter Joshua Bardwell, the man I say is the UA-cam MultiRotor authority! Many thanks for your videos man, I will watch every one!
+Tom Coffel (TC) glad it's helpful.
I have a Mobula7 and It Haven't Flown it for A year because I need a new Motor and I when I do get it I won't Know how to solder it
YaaaaY I did my 1st power loop this morning on my 1st try!!!
But Kwad Dammit, do you think I could do it again? I spent so much time on my back, in the grass, I felt like putting a red light out >.
I did my first powerloop yesterday but I didn't know how to do it properly. Luckily it didn't crash. The first 270 degree loop was fine then beyond it, I wasn't aware I need to throttle down and keep pitch stick at one point only. I was moving it. Here it is - ua-cam.com/video/-k-rENgP2tU/v-deo.html Thank you for including the stick overlay on this video. Now I know what to do next time I try powerloop!
Would this be harder with a whoop b/c there's less weight and momentum? Or would we expect it to be easier?
Great explanation and video. Been keen to try these but had in my head they were harder than how you explain them. Will be trying these tomorrow after work for sure. :)
Love your videos!!! great information delivered in a non-biased format. Keep up the great work!
You give great lessons! Just subbed. Thanx brotha! 👍😊
wow, I just watched this video, opened a simulator and the very first attempt was successful! This is incredible detailed explanation!
Help please after firmware update devo 7 controller not connecting to furious 215 walkera
Please Help!!!!
What is throttle? Up or forward? Can any drone do that?
Oldie, but a goodie! Love the wuss comment. Lol
Thanks for this Video ! Liked ans Subbed already !!
doing with out AiR mode is tricky.
bawk bawk bawk? Love these vids sir, keep up the good work!
That's good information.👍
The ground is always coming for you
I wonder if it's possible to do a 360 flip? That's a 360 yaw + 360 roll simultaneously.
+Dean Thorton Sure! But the results might not be what you expect since yaw and roll rate are not the same.
Question: It's better to keep all the drones at the same camera angle or do not matter?
Is this places in liftoff. I swear this is the country house place.
The graphic of stick locations during the maneuver is VERY helpful.
Thanks for this tutorial. You explained what I was doing preventing me from pitching back.
i tried to power loop a soccer goal and slammed right into the ground pro moves
Thank you !! I think watching this will get me looping;) i have had trouble accomplishing a nice loop on rotor rush. I'm kinda noob although i did notice whilst browsing the leader board i'm a little faster than yourself(not to gloat) . off to montreal for another attempt!:)
süper açıklama ağır çekim çok iyi olmuş thanks ...
I did my first loops becose off you 🗣🔥🔥🔥
Perfect.....nobody explains better then you when it comes to FPV.....If you had a t-shirt made " I learned something today" and then a "JB" on it, I'd buy it.....Thank you
I have a walkera 250 Pro . What do you recommend things for me to practice before trying stunts
Practice stunts in the simulator first until you feel confident.
Love the content. Super helpful. It would be cool to get some alternate line of sight views for some of your videos. I hardly see any of content like that.
Nicely put well done Josh. Your really fluent with the stick controls. Oh yea lol I can imagine your property as a simulator location haha so we all can fly. :) ;)
Hi Joshua Thank you for making thus awesom video. I will have to watch it again before I even attempt one. Thanks again.
There’s something oddly satisfying about coming down from that inverted dive.
Excellent video. thanks alot. Could not picture in my head had that was pulled off. Iv such a clear view of how its done now
I found LoS I have to lessen pitch after the apex a little and perhaps feed a little more in towards the bottom. It's a tough move to get clean without the LoS reference.
Verrrrrry cool !
Thanks !!
Wulfy
was doing the tear drop. this vid tightened things up for me now im LOOPIN BABY
You are an amazing asset to this hobby. I cant believe you even answer emails🔥🔥🔥
mahy i know your rate profil?
Awesome! Thanks a lot! I'm definitely going to try it! 😊
Hi Josh!
Two questions man. Can Cinewhoop powerloop or is it a risky trick ?
Secondly how did you put those stick graphics overlay with your "real" fpv flight? Did you have something running while you were flying?
ua-cam.com/video/IOsenLgVXoc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JoshuaBardwell
@@JoshuaBardwell nice man
Would you not recommend power looping with Cinewhoop or it can be done?
Sure you can do it.
@@JoshuaBardwell Cheers mate!
i think it also depends on how your quad is weighted around or balanced, if your battery is on top, your quad kinda wants to snap to the inverted position,
Supper video, it is exactly what I was looking for.
Since I am a rookie, so I appreciate any information Many thanks. Greetings from Lithuania.
Dude thanks for the tutorial was nice video not to many out there showing how to do tricks or stunts much appreciated :)
Amazing video pls what's your camera tilt angle on the video at the time?
It's been a long time and I honestly don't know.
I consider your tutorials just about the best I have come across on UA-cam. The blackbox sticks are the icing on the cake, as just narration cannot depict the action taken like the stick(s) insert. Well done.
Yes mr B!!! I ,my good friend have just been power looping. Your tutorial is perfect. Thanks for your time and efforts for all of kwadkind;)
Excellent episode thanks
Super!! Thank You. (subcribed)
Nice timing on this one. I was just getting ready to go out this morning to practice Power Loops. You make a nice point on the right stick and really just working the throttle to keep it smooth and symmetrical. Sure wish I could fly under 2.5.3 but 2.3.5 is going to have to do for me now. Thanks for putting this out and nice job.
Bloody marvellous bro :]
You ain't no spring chicken though ;]
Hello It can be done power loop in CC3D Mode ratittude great video
Niiiiice thanks
Thanks JB, I'll be playing with that today! Time to get over the tear drops!
I dod not understood the X o clock position you mention, it seems like you are assuming your viewers know that
It's referring to clock numbers like 12 is up top and 6 is at the bottom. Imagine the power loop as a circle.
@@JoshuaBardwell thanks
Thank you I`m just learning acro, I got the flips down pretty good, gonna try this next unwindy day!
Lol if you have good uptilt, then you can keep it up longer.
Good job pointing out the camera angle. I hadn’t taken that into consideration.
Can you recommend a drone to buy that wild all this stuff
I managed to do one, but crashed half a move later with the excitement... :-D What about sideways loops (using roll) - they should be a little easier, once the horizon stays in view. Do you happen to have a video about that?
+Anna Sarah Krämer Fazendeiro I don't.
just get a lot of altitude you can go up one mile more than enough
I dont understand, I am just a beginner. When I put the left stick all the way to the front the doesnt go up 😕 Attitude limit is off and i am in mode 2
Is it armed?
@@JoshuaBardwell dont know what you mean. Its just a standard dji avata
I feel like some of your videos will be timeless and always useful... ya know, like this one.
what flight board do you use. ime using cc3d, is it simple to do these controlled loops I need to be in rate mode. thanks
+Jamie Knight you need to be in rate mode, yes. I run Betaflight on various boards.
I love how much you teach me 1st with the builds and programming now with advanced flying
fantastic video , really a big help and a must see !
I'm sure you've seen the DALRC channel videos of the guys doing power loops under throttle the whole time?
I'm sure you can. I just think it cuts the back side of the loop short.
Yes you can hold throttle whole the time that keeps the momentum which is the real power loop as people do LOS. Actually the best way to learn what is going on is by flying LOS....you can see what is going on. with fpv your more less blind during the move
Kancho!
I definitely agree about LOS! I was shitting myself when trying to learn power loops in the "tunnel vision" of FPV (especially when looking up at the sky). I tried it LOS and quickly learnt how the quad behaved during different stick movements and just how much room for error I had before hitting the ground :) I've been doing the same with inverted manoeuvres as well.
Yeah it's all got to do with camera angle. If you work your way up to 60 degrees you can see more of the path your quad is traveling and you don't need to let off as much....right Joshua?????
i flew into the ground check my latest vid lol 😂
Its a shame not every coper can do power loops and stuff
i would return pitch to middle position when you see 12 o'clock position for a sec
I think you're right. Many times, a power loop ends up looking/feeling more like an upside down teardrop shape where you cut the top short.
Was about to start figuring this out, awesome!
Awesome vid Buddy. Love the stick overlay. So, split S and half Cuban next? cant wait, hehehe.
+jonesy400011 split S is already made ua-cam.com/video/CyhEUMpFoyA/v-deo.html.
does your quad have Sixaxis you know 3 axis gyro and 3 axis accelerometer. or is it in 100% manual where if a beginner were to yaw a little they would go out of control
All multirotors have at least a six axis gyro. Without that, you just couldn't fly at all.
+Joshua Bardwell well, technically, only 3 axis is mandatory. But I don't think you commonly find anything less than 6.
+Joshua Bardwell I've just bought a vortex 250 and I've been only flying with smaller quads line latrax alias. I'm pretty confident when flying with those quads at 100% rates so I'm eager to go bigger/more power
Thank you Joshua. I value your vids and info. Your the man.
what pitch you using on your camera??
43.
How did you do this sticks visible?
ua-cam.com/video/MclZFLNG234/v-deo.html
But the command line utilities don't work any more with Betaflight 3.1, so you have to use the BB Explorer export webm video feature instaed.
is it okay to use rattitude to power loop?
+Ikii Hisada you can try it. It depends in how tight a loop you're doing whether acro mode mode kicks in.
dumb question, do you have to be in acro mode to perform this trick. Just learning , I tried in horizon , didn't turn out very well lol
Pretty much, yeah. Horizon lets you do flips and rolls but I don't think it will be great for this type of gradual move.
Thanks. Great video with the sticks, motor sound and explanation. Also the loops you didn't do right help me understand even more than watching someone do it perfectly all the time.
+Kevin Duquette lord knows I mess up enough tricks.
hi great video what battery you recomend me to do power loops please let me now wath mah and c i have a robocat running on 3s and i cant do powers loop perfect as you do
+Janmichael Grant I don't think the battery is what's making or breaking your moves. Possibly you could use more power, in which case any good 4S would do you.
Thanks Josh, I can't wait to try the loop this video is very informative especially the stick movements at the bottom. Do you know what number I should have my expo set on for these tricks.
Well, it's a matter of feel and personal preference. The higher your full-stick-deflection rate is, the more expo you need to make the stick manageable around the center.
Perfect video by a perfect pilot and teacher! Bravo!!!
Thanks your always here when I need you....
Great explanation! Subs.
hey. nice video. you using airmode?
+Chris13FPV Yes.
❤
Haha 😂11:13 How loopy your loop is.
Thanks Josh managed my first power loops thanks to you!!
Omg i know this place from liftoff
Brilliantly done once again Joshua
Great explanation I will add this to the Facebook FPV freestyle trick page. This is perfect for what I'm trying to do.
+Gostfalcon FPV Please feel free to add the whole playlist as you feel appropriate.
Done!
your instructions kick ass man. nobody else breaks it down like you do
+Russell Nelius thanks!
great video! we appreciate it very much!
Next weekend is power loop time!
oh yeah you just dont know. thanks joshua
should the airmode on when we do power loops?
Airmode should always be on in my opinion. Otherwise you lose authority when you go to zero throttle.
thanks man
this is a must see video
Thanks!
No wus! Just practice! ;-)
