I think it was more of a sad smile. That she wanted to believe that was her son for a moment, even though she probably knew it couldn’t be him. And having that bubble burst by rio… it’s a smile that says “I know but I wanted to believe. Couldn’t you let me believe for one moment?”
Idk maybe that’s just me though
