  • Changed a couple things and it's time to try it again. I put a set of 1.9 tires on this to see how it would do with better tires and wow what a differnece. This truck is a little beast on 2s and it seems to be pretty tough. Thanks for watching, please like, sub, and click that bell!

    Understand why some will criticize this rig. A 6S MT is always awesome but a little change every now & then is also good.

    Either a gyro or a receiver with a gyro meant so much difference. Even on the stock (horrible) tyres I could do almost full throttle on a 3S. Doesn't stop though as brakes are only on the rear :) I love how it jumps though. Finding it fun to drive

    Glad you had a better run this time! Weird noise though. I got mine running last night but it was quiet considering its brushed. I should have mine painted this week! Gonna start masking for phase 1 tonight ;)

      @@killeroffroadhobbyz yeah I have been looking at short course tires but those are usually over 4" OD. if I find anything I will let you know!

    Hi! Good job! It was a cool demo of what the truck can do.
    I also have one and i have tried multiple tires test.
    I suggest you to try the stock front tires with the back tires from axial that you just tried.
    You had a better grip in front and back for sure. But you needed only more traction on the back. Tires seem to be too soft for the front.
    Change to the harder stock foam from the kyosho tires to go in the axials one. This will help rolling tires and side wall flex.
    But i think stock front tires with the back tires from axial will be easier to handle.
    I experience oversteering and understeering with this rig by only change rims tires and foam.
    I tried hyrax in the back with stock tires front and the result is the best on race track.
    Canyon trail tires in the back with stock on front is also great!
    Too much front grip when I use 4 same tires back and front.
    I sealed the gap in the transmission because sand and tiny rocks can go in there. Foam and hot glue sealed.

    Cool truck Gary! I wish you had grabbed a kaiju as you are one of the few youtubers who bash them hard and I trust you to be 100% unbiased. Hopefully at some point brotha!

    Hi pitch noise depends on what pinion and spur you are running meaning what are they made of, steel, aluminum, plastic. Spur usually plastic. Is this stock pinion and spur? Tighten slipper too. Aluminum pinion with plastic spur are horrible whining. Just my 2 cents bro.

  • @Thatklx250s

    Do you have upgraded metal gears or just own plastic

  • @twinturbotony93
    @twinturbotony93 4 роки тому

    That high pitch sound is just from the 48p gears.

      I think so cuz I have torn it down over and over and I can't find anything wrong with it

      Yeah Tony from ccxrc had a wicked whiney truck recently and I think it was 48p too. The question is why does 48p make that noise?

    48p gears?

      Yep 48p 84t spur. Ships with a 16t pinion but I forgot what he has in his.

    Did you have to change the esc to run it on 2s?

      @killeroffroadhobbyz  2 роки тому

      No I got a 3s capable esc when I built the kit. 3s was way to much tho

    Off topic but you got anymore Side by side stuff coming down the pipe Gary? Been needing to scratch that itch myself as this may be the year I jump in myself & would love to see more trail riding & thoughts from your perspective 🤟

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz
      @killeroffroadhobbyz  4 роки тому

      Yes I am going to rebuild my front diff very soon and make a video of it and I have a ride planed in a couple weeks also so I will be sure to bring my cameras. I am going to start posting more RZR videos as well as I will be going real to a couple rock crawling events and shooting footage there to. Mixing it up this year.

      @@killeroffroadhobbyz that sounds great👍 any regrets so far or is it everything you hoped for after purchasing? Also has the size been an issue? I know there are some tight places behind the dam just curious if you ever found yourself wishing you had gone w/a shorter wheelbase 4 seater like Honda's pioneer or Yamaha's wolverine for anything other than the dunes. Curious on those experiences & feedback, even the wife & kids perspective 😉👍

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz
      @killeroffroadhobbyz  4 роки тому

      It's a lot of money but the fun factor is 100% there and the whole family loves it. The kids just like going riding and ask to go all the time lol and my wife is in love with dune running but she's not to crazy about trail running. I haven't encountered anything yet that my RZR wouldn't make it through, these things are crazy capable but I haven't done much rock crawling. If I was to get one for just myself and not for the family I would grab a wolverine tho, I have two friends with them and those things are sick. All in all 150% worth it

    • @killeroffroadhobbyz
      @killeroffroadhobbyz  4 роки тому

      Do you have a side by side?

    • @The-Jokes-on-You

      @@killeroffroadhobbyz plan on getting one this year, researching and wrestling with what kind. Leaning towards the Honda Talon X4 (the family likes the fit and feel of it) but I doubt I'll be hitting the sand frequently. I've been also looking at the Wolverine x4 & Pioneer 5 seat but the family doesn't like those as well. My primary concern is how the bigger SxS handle most trails in this area, like Chappie (your poker run footage looked pretty good) but having ridden Mountain bikes frequently behind the damn I know there is a lot of tight & hairy stuff back there. Hard to find real world videos comparing different rigs on identical trails and sections to better gauge an opinion
