Interesting on your charge time. I've had mine since it came out. I get 18-20 hours and use it always, including for golf, workouts, and sleep. During sleep, I put it in theater mode and it doesn't drain that much. Great watch.
They look great... battery life puts me off a bit as I wear my watch all day and evening with work commitments.. may go flat when I need it most... but a watch I would like when battery life better..
Love it but in 2-3 yrs it will be obsolete and 2k for something that will be obsolete in a couple yrs is a waste of money in my opinion. Guess that why ive never got into smart watches in general.
Why obsolete, you can use it as a watch for as long as the hardware works, even if wifi and Bluetooth standard change. If the battery fails, you can buy a new battery, it’s not the easiest watch to change the battery but it can be done, even though tag won’t do it for you, it’s a 30 minute job to do yourself.
@@neo433 for all that you can pick up a tudor black bay that will hold value better in the long term. I think if i were to buy another smart watch i would probably go with something more inexpensive that way i dont feel bad when its out dated and just toss it in the trash..
@@UnburdenedByWhatHasBeen yes I agree as far as the gen 3 is concerned. However for 3200 pounds brand new after some nice discounts I have a gen2 with a smart head plus a calibre 5 and 16 mechanical watch heads also. Which has all bases covered by me. The fact that’s it’s quite a unique watch in that respect should ensure the prices hold up in my opinion. Also people have been selling used smart heads for 100 to 300 pounds on eBay which is a price of a cheap smartwatch. I know the gen 2 does not have a heart rate sensor but I would not use this type of expensive watch for the gym anyway.
Appreciated your honesty re battery life. That and longevity are my key issues. Ideally, I’d like a battery life of 3-5 days (some way to go yet on that!) as well as a watch that won’t become obsolete because it can’t take the latest OS update. This happened to my Apple Watch 3 (a gift from my wife) and it’s a pain to have to reset it every time Watch OS updates. I’ve gone back to ‘basic’ analogues for day to day wear and my G-Shock for sports.
Granted, this video is 2 years old, but I've been wearing the Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar ($977.39 when I got it in Dec '22), and with how I use it (which is a lot) I get about 20-25 days of battery life, and it looks more like a "real" watch than the Apple Watch. Great video all together.
I just got a Tissot T Touch Connect Solar. It's an actual watch. This Tag is a glorified Apple watch, which is a wrist mobile phone. What ever floats your boat, I am not judging. I would prefer a conventional Tag with an actual movement any day, like an actual watch.
Well, when wanting a SmartWatch which looks like a real watch, you can also choose Samsung Galaxy Watch, wich does the job. Always-on-Display included. I don´t want to be missunderstood: the Tag Heuer for sure has the much more build quality, as it comes from a classic swiss watch maker. So, it´s clear that you also pay much more for it. I just want to point to another option: Tissot T-Touch Solar Connect. The most important difference: it is NOT a full-functional Smart Watch. It is a classic Watch, with limited smart functions. But for people who want a "real" watch, but wanted also the option to get notified when something is happening on the smart phone, it is a perfect match (if you like the design). Best thing: it works with solar power (there is a wireless charger included anyway) and the battery will last up to 6 months. Halleluja! I love this watch. And yes: I own two Samsung Galaxy Watches (Gear S3 and the newer - but bit smaller - Watch), and other (Garmin). But also own some mechanical watches (I love my Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Flyback Chronograph, but also my chronometer certified Mido watch, and other mechanicals). For me pesonally the Tissot T-Touch is the perfect hybrid between classical watch and connection to my smart phone.
Tag Heuer definitely improved there battery life on the Porsche edition of their watch that I bought it lasts over two days now and its got a better processor
Hey, I discovered your channel more recently, but I love watching your videos because you're such a pro at presentation, production and reviews in general. did you have a background in broadcasting before youtube? How did you get so good at being on-camera? cheers.
I love classic watches, just got my first Tag Heuer Formula 1, traded in my Connected 41. I will suppliment my health& fitness tracking with a Xiaomi fit band on my right wrist.
Call me old fashioned, and this watch does look great, I prefer seeing the centuries of mechanical know-how that go into a mechanical timepiece. I also don't see $3000 worth of value for something running on software they didn't develop. CM

Garmin Fenix 7 still the best. Their MARQ watches on same level as Tag, Bugatti etc. but have much better battery life and solar charging. I usually go 1 month with fitness, sleep tracking and oxygen sensing on.

i bought a tag connect , for the price i was extremely disappointed, it has rubber on the winder that falls off easily, the strap broke and it filled with water after a 5 min splash in a kiddie pool and completely died , to get the little rubber cover for the winder replaced I needed it to be sent off lost it for nearly 4 weeks , first time taking off a jumper it came off again . they are a good looking watch and has a nice weight but performance and reliability a $100 smart watch will prob last longer.
Just had mine delivered this morning - the Connected 4, and I am so disappointed, I am almost angry! Half of the features outlined on the Tag website are not available - I specifically wanted the Porsche II watch face and this is not an option that I can find, neither I am able to customise the watch faces. It refuses to connect to wifi, even though my other devices are working fine. Bluetooth connection is good however, and easy to setup. I will persevere for the rest of the day and try and find solutions on forums etc. but I shouldn't have to, why isn't this simply plug and play? If I had to make a decision this minute, it would be going back.
Great review, thanks! .... but I can not believe how crappy the battery life is! ..... I shall never purchase a watch with a battery life less than 3 days, at least!
This would had been a nice watch if the “always on” display was truly “always on”. You can see in the video the watch dims pretty much straight away and while on the wrist in a natural position, all you see is black circle. You can see from a mile off it’s a smartwatch. It does look great with full brightness on, but clearly that’s not possible with the current state of watch technology. Maybe in version 5…
Who's paying for that fancy box presentation? Okay okay, I know. I love bells and whistles too, but hey, at the end of the day, that box ain't doing much after the opening but sitting in the closet shelf. :) I still want one!!!

Gorgeous watch. Bought the Connected Bright Black edition. Returned it within a week. I wanted a high quality smartwatch that looked like a real watch but gave me the features of a smartwatch (e.g. notifications, heartbeat, golf, etc.). Since this is not regular timepiece (which would warrant the extra cost), and nearly $4K, I expected the Tag Heuer to do it all better than any other smartwatch. Bad assumption ! Unless the skin on your wrist is thin as tissue paper you won’t feel the notifications (regardless of how long you set the vibration for). The golf app displays all the pertinent information, but its SLOW as all get out. Your playing partners will winder why you haven’t hit yet as you wait and wait for the distance to update.
