I had to pause the video and just tell you that you helped me get through the pandemic….you and other flosstubers. I imagine you started this channel to share your love of cross stitch and I love your videos. As I’ve learned from you and others, stitch what you love. There are no crossstitch police but apparently there are crossstitch judges who should be disbarred….ignore and/or block….keep the faithful who adore you and love to see what you create.
Elizabeth Ann!!! You make me and probably most of us feel great! I have so many WIPS that I too, am thinking of parting ways with. It’s a hard decision because 1) we love the finished pattern, 2) time and expense already put into the particular piece., but it’s true! Am I or are you going to really actually stitch a piece you aren’t loving? Actually, this is another great video because you are helping me come to terms with some of my pieces which I love but don’t love to stitch. So, I will donate them (at least the pattern) so someone can enjoy the process. Sometimes it’s just not going to be what we think it is when see the pattern until we get it home and start stitching. I applaud you for your sincerity! You have helped so many of us through life’s ups and downs. Never doubt yourself. You are lovely, fun and super intelligent. Follow that woman’s instinct and move forward with the next piece that you love, this is a hobby we are suppose to enjoy and love, after all. Happy New Year to you, your hubby and your entire family! All of you make me smile😃🪡🪡✂️🪡
My daughter's would so eye roll this comment and tell me how creepy I sound....so I have some awareness about how this can be misinterpreted. I am sure when you started this journey you had specific reasons. I am certain I watch your channel every week for NONE of those reasons. This has to be true of so many who watch and then comment because of whatever disappointments exist in there own lives. I started watching you when I became ill. To distract me from pain. To see someone so alive, passionate and positive and having fun in their life... so I could remember that part of my life.(I'm not really that old) I barely cross stitch, but understand the obsessiveness about it. I quilt whenever I can, which mainly now is hand piecing. And I will never knit. But I watch you do it ALL and celebrate that you do it ALL and appreciate that you film your journey because it adds so much positivity to my week. Life is short, If there is anything about a WIP that you are thinking of leaving behind that you love: isolate it and make it into a small. Your wedding one for example. Imagine a bowl full of your wedding smalls in whatever colour and experiment with all the colours. Your Blackbird where you don't like the green border: stitch it without the border if it pleases you or be done with it. You accomplish so much because you try so many different things and drop them when your interest wanes and that is exactly how we should approach our hobbies. Because face it: we often have to stick with relationships and jobs that don't always please us and we need the pleasure from other areas of out lives to stay and work through the sticky bits with some grace. But our hobbies ...should be real joy. And you show this in every video. I guess I just could have simply said thank you and left it at that. :) Oh well.
Life is too short to stitch items that no longer make you happy. I just went through this process with my quilt WIPs. Let them go! Our preferences change. Love your channel!
I love your floss tube. You are delightful. My personality is to finish one cross stitch project at a time. I have many that I want to do, but stick to the one I’m doing until done. I watch many other floss tubes also and see all of the WIPS. Soooo many. I just want to see them done or given to someone who will finish and love them. My mind would go bonkers having so many hanging out there.
I absolutely LOVE it that you’re doing an honest Wip parade! There are many Ftubers who will say that they have UFO’ed some projects, but they won’t say which ones or why. We ALL need to reevaluate our Wip’s from time to time and I find it extremely helpful to hear other stitchers go through the process of elimination because I’m sure that I’ve got some Wip’s that need to go bye-bye. It doesn’t mean that the designer or design are wrong or bad… just that there is something amiss for the stitcher and life is too short to stitch (or knit! ) projects that you don’t love! So, thank you! Ignore any judgy McJudgypanst pple!
Great wip parade I love them all so hard to retire some of them but you have to stitch what makes you happy 😊 have a great week and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
What a fabulous WIP parade! Please do ignore those bitter and twisted people who leave negative comments. You are such fun and a real inspiration. Go Liz!
A great whip parade. I especially like that Western themed piece. It's cute, and you're doing a fantastic job on it. I could see it Incorporated into a strappy. tote or bag!
Ya know you could always send that drum off to Keepsakes or somewhere else to get finished. Then you wouldn’t have to deal with it and one more WIP off your shelf! LOL Or you could finish the stitching and put it in the under-the-bed-box….thats what I do😂😂 true story…. I love a WIP parade!! Thanks for sharing! Rebecca C.
I saw so many that I love and gave bought. I also saw a few that I like but kniw that I wouldn't get completed. I also have the Tumbleweeds Old West Drygoods. It doesn't fit my decor either but I don't care and will hang it anyway because it makes me think of our family trips yo Montana, Wyoming etc and reminds me of my childhood-I wanted to be a cowgirl!😂 You're an amazing stitcher. Keep u all your wonderful creativity and just do what you enjoy.❤
I was sitting here stitching on the first part of a 12-part piece. It's part of my resolve to get my WIP count down in 2024, but I sort of dreaded this piece and it's remained barely started for months. It's big and filled with stuff I don't want to stitch. Watching you cull through your projects inspired me to rethink the design. I decided to make the piece smaller and do only what I like. It has turned an old WIP I "had" to work on into a project I'm excited to work on. Thanks for inspiring me to rethink and let go.
What a great way to start off the new year! I think alot of us struggle with the hard decisions of when to let go of something. Most of the time letting go benefits ourself as well as the one receiving the item we no longer want for whatever reason. To some this process is so easy and for some it is a real struggle. Thank you for being open and honest in your flosstube. I can understand how a flosstuber can aquire more WIPS than is feasibly manageable. I wish you nothing but success as you go into the new year with your paired down WIPS. Looking forward to seeing all your progress.
Sometimes we see a pattern and fall in love with it. Then when it is time to stitch we look at it and decide not really ready to start. It is all right to stitch something, and not finish it. Later on it might grab our attention and then we can start and finish. Good luck
I loved all the pieces. They are all so beautiful and make winter more bearable. the fox is one of my WIPs. I stopped doing it because I was at the point where I needed to do the house and just didn't like it so i stopped, your solutioin is genius and so much better. Thank you for sharing.
I love your WIP parade and I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets tired of certain pieces. I've decided to retire several this year. Life is too short.
I loved your wip parade. I like the way you chatted about why some patterns were not for you and why some need to go, and also about the ones you like and why you like them. Beautiful work.
Brilliant inspirational wip parade if you don't want to finish something don't it your stitching time and should be fun. also happy birthday American would look cute in a hoop or as a flat fold dosent have to be a drum. Happy new year to your self family and kitty's.
Loved the WIP parade and appreciate you keeping it real for what many of us struggle with -- too many starts, failed WIPGO, stalled SALs. I appreciate your honesty and transparency.
I watched your WIP parade last year too. I looked through my own list and I finished more than I started. Woo hoo. I started my list for this year on the first of January. Mine are now broken down into hand sewn and machine sewing. I’m a quilter mostly . I have decided to let go of some that I realised I will never finish and just don’t want to finish , so they are off to my local craft group who have a swap table. Thank you so much for sharing your videos. I find your videos so encouraging. ❤
Another fantastic video. And I agree with others - you helped get me through the pandemic and I absolutely love you!!! You have so many others that support you and love you too. POOF!! Trolls be gone!!! Also I, too, have purged and UFO'd projects - I call it "I don't stitch something out of guilt". I get joy out of getting the pattern, kitting things and stitching things. And if all three of these don't align - OUT IT GOES! I Gift the design/chart to others or send them to floss tubers to use as giveaways! SO, stitch what you love, and our tastes do change! Can't wait to see your next video. Love your quilting ones also! Take care!
Your colors on tier tray are perfect! Thanks for all you do to inspire, amuse and teach us! It is appreciated! I also knit, quilt, cross-stitch and crochet. I also have WAY too many projects and supplies. You go, girl!! 😘
I just found your channel and I loved your WIP Parade. I believe in stitching what I love and firmly believe everyone should too. I live in horse country in California. I loved the Tumbleweed pattern. If you are ready to pass it along I will be happy to purchase it from you and finish it. ❤
Amazing! Amazing. Your projects are so beautiful. I made a ' leftovers' quilt with unfinished quilt projects. Its one of our favorite quilts. I'm keeping my cross stitch projects that I lose interest in or something. I'm cutting the piece off the linen and hand sew it to a larger piece of fabric, add other cross stitch ufo's. Like a UFO sampler.
Liz, you are such a light of goodness. I think you did a great job of being honest with yourself to retire some projects. If they don't give you joy, they sound be retired. I absolutely love your channel. Happy New Year!
Helen D once used one of her stitches that she knew she wouldn’t finish and made it into a strawberry. It turned out super cute, she got to say goodbye to a WIP she knew she’d never finish but still enjoy her stitching as it was. I think that would be a good option for your ink circles since you still love it, but aren’t fond of the repetitive stitching. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing!!
Really enjoyed your WIP parade. I found your channel this summer and have so enjoyed “getting to know” you, at least your crafting. No shame, no judgement I don’t like to stitch over one or full coverage either. I had a great boss many years ago who said “advice is worth what you paid for it” We all have things hanging around our work baskets that we should probably let go. There are many things in mine…my taste has changed dramatically over the past 8 years. I have been stitching since I was 7 and I hate to admit that was 52 years ago.
Good for you for making those decisions. Now you can stitch on what you truly love. I just made a decision on one of my WIPs. I was doing it 2 over 2 on 25 ct and it was going to be ridiculously big. I thought I'd start over doing 1 over 1 then realized nope, don't want to stitch it. And yep, I feel better just like you. Thanks so much for this great WIP parade. I loved it.
You picked the perfect fabric for the new satsuma street piece. I think everyone was stressed and had too much time to think, worry and scroll at the beginning of the pandemic and we all probably started way to many things thinking we would have the time to finish them. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You have done heaps in the last couple of years.
I love your approach to retiring and destashing your WIP's. I always want to stitch what makes me happy and don't find any shame in changing my mind after I've already started something. Happy New Year and look forward to seeing more of what you're working on in 2024 ❤
Your stitching, your rules. That's my opinion! Stitch what you love! I have the early American series kitted up and plan to do it all as one too. I think it will be a start this year. 😊
You have a massive amount of stitching wip’s. Sort them as you are happy to do and if there are those you just do not want to work on, that’s likely a sign. So many beauties. Stitching takes a long time. I do counted cross stitch but not on the 36 & 40 count linen. I don’t have the patience for that. Do as you enjoy and decide, as you are, what you want to finish first. Works great. Beautiful projects.
Liked your video. There are so many nice patterns/kits available yet not enough time or money to stitch all one’s “eye candy”. I do enjoy seeing other people’s projects, but I do not necessarily want to do the same. I also stitch with an end result in mind…usually a decoration piece for my house…so I pick projects with that consideration. An idea for the “Tumbleweeds “ piece….It would look stunning on the back of a western jacket or vest…on the front stitch a few motifs like cactus to complete the outfit. Anyways, Glad you didn’t put it in the reject pile as it is adorable.
I absolutely love your stitching! I'm new all 14-18 count and can't ever see myself stitching 40c. I watched your Vlogmas and thoroughly enjoyed the fun content. Happy 2024.
Liz, you have one of the best if not the the best WIP parades ! Everything moves along smoothly and punctuated with your great laugh! Before you know it, it's over. I always look forward to your You Tubes. Can't wait for next time❤
For the Equality Sampler my suggestion would be to frog the lettering and then frame it. I think just by itself it’s gorgeous. Just a thought thought 😊
I got my threads and fabric for Love Boats Sampler this week!! 🎉🎉. It’s going to be so cold here this weekend and I have Monday off work so hopefully I’ll get a good start on it. 🤞🏻
Thanks for sharing your WiPs. I know it is a lot of work to prepare for; I appreciate it. Here's to the ladies and gents who love fabric and floss! So fun to share our passion for it.
Ohhh ugh I love your stitch on Ann Topley on the black !!!❤❤ got to finish or at least allow me to become foster parent 😊 you have so many that are sew close to a finish. Make a bin of those so close to finish as a quick gratification. I love Land That I ❤finish. You inspired me to start that big of one. I got grand champion in fine arts at county fair. 🎉.
I stitched the Happy Birthday America and I wrapped (I believe this what the instructions say to do) the printed fabric around a paper-mache round box and paint the lid and pedal red then glue the box down to the lid making it look like a cake stand with a cake. It’s real easy.
Please ignore the not so nice comments because you are SO loved and you bring such joy (and giggles) to our community!! I adore you and you are so talented!! 🩷🩷🩷
Love all that you have done and all that you have decided to keep moving forward with.I adore your videos and thank you for your work and your upbeat attitude all the time! You are simply one of the best!
I always love seeing your wips! Tastes definitely change over the years, and we learn about our stitching preferences. Sometimes it's good to let things go. 😊
I’m just getting to this video not sure why I skipped it. I’m with you on the one over one. Im also an in hand stitcher, and have had to frog the first word 4 times. I’m doing the big red barn This Happy morning, I’m filling in the words with grass and trees.
I am surprised that you get any negative comments, you are so upbeat and generous in sharing your interests and projects and experience. I can understand changing your mind about a project, you should absolutely stitch what you want, when want.
You cracked me up when you made the comment about a "negative wip parade". I appreciated hearing your thoughts on why you did or didn't enjoy a project and hearing others talk about this helps me understand why some of my wips call to me more than others. I'm with you on not enjoying 2 over 2 stitching. Happy New Year!
Really enjoyed your wip parade! I especially like a ruthless pare down, gives me confidence to ditch my untouched wips! I have Joyeux Noël as a wip so i was glad when you spared it, though 😂 Happy 2024! xx
I have a mix of amazon bags, fully fabric ones and vinyl front ones but I think I prefer the amazon bags because they are waterproof. Just in case!! I do love displaying my special fabric ones though!
Love your flosstube! What a fun WIP parade! I'm sure if you do decide to stop work on some of your WIPs that another stitcher would likely be glad to take it off your hands and keep it going. I know I would gladly stitch on Sarah Barker. You are the first flosstube I ever found, and I absolutely love watching your videos! You even inspired me to start my own flosstube. Thank you for everything you do for the stitching community. It is greatly appreciated! Hugs!
I loved your WIP parade. I was surprised to see the size of BBD . I thought they were huge charts so haven’t really ever looked at them close but I loved seeing your WIPS of them and they are very manageable in size so I’m going to dig some out and start them. I have about close to 40 WIPS and am doing WIPGO again this year and going to try and stick with it and clear out these WIPS cause I have a lot of new ones I want to do. I’m wanting to do a long dog for a birthday start but we will see. I enjoyed your video!
My heart skips when I see you have posted a video. I know I will laugh and learn something❤. Thank you for sharing and taking so much time to create wonderful videos. I really appreciate you!
You are a joy to watch. You share your talent and your personality with us so generously. You’re one of the few floss tubers that I always enjoy watching and learning from. You never disappoint.
I loved your WIP parade. It's sad you need to retire some WIPS but it's understandable. I'm still new at stitching and haven't been able to stitch lately, you know life gets in the way. Anyway it's your decision but they will be beautiful when you're done with them. You could make pillows or smalls with some of them.❤ See you next time.
Would love to adopt either the Sarah Barker or Equality Sampler if you ever decide to destash! I loved watching your process for going through your WIPs. I need to sort through mine but luckily I only have a few. Maybe 10? Much quicker decision making process. Enjoy your videos!
I will never understand why people find it necessary to be negative. Didn't their mommas teach them about what to do if you don't have nice things to say?! Really enjoy your videos - keep 'em coming!
Hi! Happy New Year 🎉 I really enjoyed your wip parade. It gave me some ideas about how to evaluate my wips. For Stitcher’s Resolution I say save the part that says “buy more” and make it into a pillow or small frame! You do so much beautiful finishing. Give yourself a pass on drum finishing and pay someone else to do it. My dos pesos. Continue to take good care and enjoy the rest of your vacation. 😘❤️ Rebecca
Maybe the western (retired) project could be used on a project bag, which would be very cute. Of sometimes just finishing a portion of the pattern can be used on a pillow, bag, or stand-up. Just some ideas to think about but having some of these projects on Lakeside Linens definitely would make me want to do something with them. Happy stitching………..
Awesome wip parade. Okay here’s my positive rant, hope you read it. So, stitch what you love. That’s it… unless a loved family member begs for something you know they will love and appreciate (ask me why I know that… full coverage piece!j and then ask your mother. Lol hey mum I know you have told me before, but remind me you will never make everyone happy so make yourself happy! I enjoy your chatter about why and why not working on things. And hey here’s a stat… you have more subscribers than 2 other flosstube channels everyone talks about, so yes you are doing great!, happy stitching new year❤❤
I just love to see WIP parades and see how you decide Yes, No, Maybe on the projects you not sure of. You are beautiful stitcher and quilter, thank you for sharing all you do with us.
ElizabethAnn.. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of cross-stiching. You are a joy to watch. I found your tutorial on Project bag making and I may have spent the weekend making 3 :) So simple and easy to follow directions (once you watch the video and figure out the tips and shortcuts. Looking forward to actually using the bags now to store my projects. Mary
Love your wip parade! Put some of the stitches you don’t know what to do with on a project bag. Like that ink circles piece. Would be very pretty. I’ve been doing that. Using your full fabric bag tutorial of course. Keep up your fun videos and looking good!
Thank you for sharing your wips with us! With all of the wonderful charts it is hard to decide what to work on. I love the idea of sampluary, and I did that last year, so at least some of my samplers received some stitches. Happy New Year!
Thank you for sharing all your plans and past WIPS it’s interesting to see how many I have seen in others videos as well. I have. Few of these kitted up for my 24 in 24! As far as your WIPbTumbleweed ….use it to make a project bag. This way you get to see it and enjoy it, it just doesn’t need to be displayed in your house.
I would recommend doing the Equality Sample. I took Brenda’s advice on doing a tent stitch for the over one and it made it so much better to get through. I love it!😊
@@elizabethanncanstitch I get it. I like the full stitch too but I went down the side to the bottom and worked my way up and the one of one was dreadful but I did too much not to finish at least with the tent stitch. 😀 Do what you enjoy.

Thank you, Liz. You've given me the courage to retire some of my wips. If you saw my wip pile you'd die!! I love your videos. Keep 'em coming!
What a fabulous WIP parade! Please do ignore those bitter and twisted people who leave negative comments. You are such fun and a real inspiration. Go Liz!
A great whip parade.
I especially like that Western themed piece.
It's cute, and you're doing a fantastic job on it. I could see it

Thanks so much for a great WIP parade. Remember you are the boss of your own stitching, do what feels best for you. Thanks so much! Janine
This video was a lot of fun!! Everything was wonderful! Looking forward to your videos and especially your WIP parades!
There's something so refreshing about being honest about if a project works for you or not. Loved seeing your WIPS and progress!
Thank you!!
Enjoyed watching your flosstube for the first time! So much fun!
Your Land That I Love is coming along beautifully! I think you should finish it and then 'UFO" it to me. LOL! :)
You are awesome and I love your variety of stitching and other crafts. Thank you for giving of your time and talents! Lynette ❤

I am a knitter who dabbles in other crafts and I found this by accident but WOW I must try a cross stitch now!! You have inspired a new stitcher!

So many fun projects! One that stood out to me is The Love Boats, definitely adding that to my list. I’m turning 40 this year as well 😊
Great video. Being honest with ourselves is so difficult. You did a good job!!
Great wip parade! Saw many projects that are gorgeous. Always enjoy your videos and how upbeat and fun you are…I’m Fine…😂😂
I just had to use that Ross gif 😂 I normally edit out my little rants, i should make a blooper reel of them sometime 😂
@@elizabethanncanstitch that would be so funny. I follow a shop owner that does that!
I loved it.
Home for Christmas is gorgeous 😍, would love to see it finished x
You picked the perfect fabric for the new satsuma street piece. I think everyone was stressed and had too much time to think, worry and scroll at the beginning of the pandemic and we all probably started way to many things thinking we would have the time to finish them. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You have done heaps in the last couple of years.
Yeah thats a really good point! I also started my channel in 2020 and was definitely too excited about starting all the things that year!
I agree, you stitch what you love & we will love you for doing it. Thanks so much for sharing.
Loved it, and I think your stitching is beautiful.
🥳HNY 2024, with lots of stitching and woo hoo 27k 🎉subscribers!
I absolutely love your stitching! I'm new all 14-18 count and can't ever see myself stitching 40c. I watched your Vlogmas and thoroughly enjoyed the fun content. Happy 2024.
Liz, you have one of the best if
not the the best WIP parades ! Everything moves along smoothly and punctuated with your great laugh! Before you know it, it's over. I always look forward to your You Tubes. Can't wait for next time❤
Thanks so much 😊
Your stitches look so good.
For the Equality Sampler my suggestion would be to frog the lettering and then frame it. I think just by itself it’s gorgeous. Just a thought thought 😊
I love After the Roses!
I love Sarah Barker - I’d adopt it!
Omg congratulations!! Amazing!!
I stitched the Happy Birthday America and I wrapped (I believe this what the instructions say to do) the printed fabric around a paper-mache round box and paint the lid and pedal red then glue the box down to the lid making it look like a cake stand with a cake. It’s real easy.
Yes, thankful to everyone for letting me know in the comments!
I had to pause the video to say I love your videos and you bring so much joy into my life, please stitch what you want. Let go what you don’t need
The naughty wip pile-😂🤣😂🤣
Too funny!
😂
Perhaps a crazy quilt of the castoff wips for the front of a project bag!
Please ignore the not so nice comments because you are SO loved and you bring such joy (and giggles) to our community!! I adore you and you are so talented!! 🩷🩷🩷
Thank you so much!
Greatwip parade!
Love all that you have done and all that you have decided to keep moving forward with.I adore your videos and thank you for your work and your upbeat attitude all the time! You are simply one of the best!
Thank you so much, that is so nice of you to say! So glad you enjoy the videos ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing all of your WIPs and your love of crafting--you are so talented and I appreciate your friendly approach on UA-cam!
Thanks Roberta!! ❤️ Happy New year!!
Really enjoyed your wip parade! I especially like a ruthless pare down, gives me confidence to ditch my untouched wips! I have Joyeux Noël as a wip so i was glad when you spared it, though 😂 Happy 2024! xx
Thanks Tricia! Happy New Year!
I have a mix of amazon bags, fully fabric ones and vinyl front ones but I think I prefer the amazon bags because they are waterproof. Just in case!! I do love displaying my special fabric ones though!
Me encantan tus trabajos y como trabajas!!!🤗
You do beautiful work
My heart skips when I see you have posted a video. I know I will laugh and learn something❤. Thank you for sharing and taking so much time to create wonderful videos. I really appreciate you!
🤗
You are a joy to watch. You share your talent and your personality with us so generously. You’re one of the few floss tubers that I always enjoy watching and learning from. You never disappoint.
This was a great parade. Destash the tumbleweeds and the plum street too. Save that chart as you may like it later.
😘❤️ Rebecca
omg yes I definitely need a "buy more" pillow 😂 thats my favorite part of the crafty hobbies, stash!
And hey here’s a stat… you have more subscribers than 2 other flosstube channels everyone talks about, so yes you are doing great!, happy stitching new year❤❤
Great WIP parade! I look forward to seeing some fabulous finishes in 2024! 🎉
I’m a newby. But u gave me ideas about record keeping. I love watching floss tube. Very good inspiration & encouragement.
I just love to see WIP parades and see how you decide Yes, No, Maybe on the projects you not sure of. You are beautiful stitcher and quilter, thank you for sharing all you do with us.
Thank you!!
Mary
Thank you so much! So glad it was helpful!
Love your wip parade! Put some of the stitches you don’t know what to do with on a project bag. Like that ink circles piece. Would be very pretty. I’ve been doing that. Using your full fabric bag tutorial of course. Keep up your fun videos and looking good!
Love you sooo much!! We are crafty soul sisters!! Please don’t let the bad comments get you down.
Wonderful WIP parade. Thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching.
I would recommend doing the Equality Sample. I took Brenda’s advice on doing a tent stitch for the over one and it made it so much better to get through. I love it!😊
I tried tent stitch actually on that piece and really didn't like the look on 36 count, me and one on one just aren't ever going to be friends!
@@elizabethanncanstitch I get it. I like the full stitch too but I went down the side to the bottom and worked my way up and the one of one was dreadful but I did too much not to finish at least with the tent stitch. 😀 Do what you enjoy.
