@@BTheInstaller Hey B, how come you didn't compare this TV to the 85" Hisense U7H? It literally fits the "Best 85" TV for under $3000" title more than any other TV, based on how you've and other reviewers have talked about it.
Crazy how far LED TV tech has come in just a few years. So much more bang for the buck across the board, in everything from panel size, to HDR, to blooming control. It's truly a wonderful time to be an AV nerd/enthusiast. Nice to see Jen getting much more comfortable and interactive in your videos, Brandon. Nothing like sharing a hobby with the spouse! Purchased the Samsung QN85B 75" from Best Buy last August for $2399. About two weeks after it was installed the price dropped $200.00 and Best Buy did provide a price adjustment. The 75" also dropped again in November to $1999.00 but was to late for another price adjustment at that time even being Total Tech members. We love it, took a couple weeks to get the picture adjusted. When watching sports we did feel that it was too bright and the colors were over saturated. Turned off all power saving modes and ultimately decided to just have the picture set to "Film Maker Mode" and haven't looked back. The 4 HDMI 2.1 ports and the increased local dimming array zones were what sold me on the model. Zero to minimal blooming with subtitles or in widescreen mode, no rainbow effect with the antireflection screen either.
My brother and dad don’t really like Best Buy because I told them of an lg tv going for $2000 and still my brother said to not get it because “Best Buy is an electronic store the prices are jacked up” (I’ve been trying to go for 80+ inches)
Samsung really did their thing with the boxing part. So nice that you don’t have to lay it on a big table to put the stand on anymore. especially when sometimes you don’t actually have somewhere to lay it down necessarly. I don’t have a dining room table anymore, I just have an island in my kitchen and my coffee table. This is so dope
Hey B I ordered the 8k 85in Neo Qled from Samsung, but it's the 2022 model. I bought it for $2,499. It gets delivered this Monday ❤ Just the fact of unboxing a huge TV, something you've worked hard for and deserve, can put one in a good mood ❤😊 I'm stoked.
@@BTheInstaller Yeah I thought it was a good deal, the 2023 QN800B 85inch was around $1,500 more expensive a significant difference in price. Well after looking into the specs of the 2022 model, and seeing that it is 120hz and also "Neo" Qled, I knew I couldn't go wrong with it. I only added a 2yr warranty to it, Ill eventually add more in the future. After taxes and warranty it came out to $3,020. Not too bad, sending love from Cali B. 🙂❤️
That is the light bleeding or blooming of LED tvs with local dimming zones. Most have it and Samsung may be better. OLED tvs won't have that issue and direct lit led won't either but lack the deep contrast these can have.
I REALLY like the center-type stand, but I really wish they made it a bit wider and even heavier for the 85" model, because then it would probably feel more secure.
Another great review sir! As stated you wanted to review the best 85" tv "under $3,000" ... Don't understand why some folk were asking about comparisons of TV's like Sony's Z9k that cost close to $10,000! 🙄
I watch your channel a lot man your content is great. I’m a professional TV installer as well and filmmaker. I love the LG oleds as I’m a gamer as well. I think going above 77 inch with LG isn’t cost effective I really want a good 85 inch TV as good as oleds for a reasonable price 3000-4000 budget

hi B, I have watched a number of your TV reviews now that I'm in the market for a new 85" TV. No doubt you are my favorite channel, super interesting as well as informative. I have been considering Sony X90L and Samsung QN85C. I have always been a Sony fan, and have more faith in their quality and reliability. However, my recent trip to BestBuy kind of sway my mind a bit. The QN85C seems to have much better picture and also a very slim body. Can I get your thoughts on which is the better one to buy?
I'm thinking about getting it, I'm coming from a 2018 set with good HDR but lots of blooming during panning shots and gaming. This or 65" Oled B2 for $1300?
I want to upgrade to an 75” because my space will accommodate that size. Right now I have the Sony 65” A9G. I love it but looking for something better. You guys do an excellent job at showing off the different TVS keep up the good work
Finally a review of the 85"... Every other review is on the 55 / 65 sizes which use a different panel. I think this is the 85" to get if you can grab it on sale. (Seen as low as $3500 CAN)
Why did you leave out the Hisense 85" U7H that you reviewed which you liked very much and said it was comparable with the higher end brands? What's up with that?
Yeah, I don't understand either. That was a very important comparison that he missed. It literally fits the "Best 85" TV for under $3000" title more than any other TV. First TV that comes to mind when you ask that question. Definitely should compare the two even if it's in the comments.

Got my 85’ QN95B for $2599 for 2022 Black Friday. Crazy how good LED technology has come. Although I still love my LG OLED more, this QLED it almost 90% there. Still an amazing TV.
I dont know if you have turned OFF the various power saving features before the tests? It tends to mess up with the picture quality and the lighting scenes as you have said in your earlier videos..
Great review! I always wondered how you repackage the TVs to send them back after being reviewed. It doesn’t seem like the protective plastic screen film can be re-applied and the styrofoam and box seem like they are pretty beat up after opening. How do you do it? Do the manufacturers send someone to do it? Do you do it yourself? What about all the protective materials that can’t be reused? How is the TV protected during its journey back to the manufacturer?
For a dark basement, will an OLED be that much better when it comes to blacks and contrast? Can't decide between this 85-in versus a 77-in C2. Can get both for about $2,400.
Nice review - sometimes 'blooming' can be more a trick of the eye too. On my 2 year old LG CX OLED - a one time I thought 'hang on there's some blooming around the text on movie credits. However if you put your hand just over the text (without actually touching the screen) the 'apparent ' blooming disappears - it isn't actually there - your eyes seem to trick you it seems?
