Robbie daymond is a voice actor who guested in a short series of episodes between campaign 2 and 3 that had a few new players called Exandria Unlimited. He’s been playing since the start of campaign 3 as well. No one knows if he’s gonna be around for the whole campaign or exit after a while. But he’s such a fun person and a great player
Exandria unlimited is actually a really cool series with only a handful of episodes. It is a series they’re gonna do from time to time where they give other people a chance to DM and play inside exandria. Matt is actually a player in these games and it is DMed by an awesome DnD community member named Aabria Iyengar. Being set after vox machina and taking place in the same part of exandria it does include some spoilers for the campaign though so not sure if you want to dive into it yet
"Is it Thursday yet?" Is the catch phrase they use to close every episode because we already want to skip to the next one. "How do you want to do this" is how man let's them know they've beaten the bad guy and it's usually after a long struggle where they think they're going to die. They're always so elated and it's infectious. "You can certainly try" is what Matt says when they ask something ridiculous but even if they fail it creates a great scene! Robbie is a guest for this campaign, which is why he only shows up briefly in a spot that can be easily edited out. We don't know how long he'll stay, but he's quickly become a fan favorite
I like how they included him in the intro. Easy to include, or change if he leaves eventually. And if anyone else gets added as a guest on the show, they can add them to the introduction like "grab a lantern and get a cool hat, we'll turn on the fog machine"
Its also interesting to note in this intro, that when they are their "real selves" time moves slow, but when they are their "characters" time moves normal pace, kinda mirroring a D&D game.
Ofc i wanna see you react to the ads, they are like my favorite bits of Critical Role, it just shows you how funny Sam Riegel is. The weekly stream/episode starts in Thursday nights and they always end the stream/episode with saying "Is it Thursday yet".

If someone gets the monster kill @How do you want to do this?” And they describe of how it happens , “Is it Thursday yet?” Because they show on Thursdays, and “You can certainly try” is when a player has an idea of something but maybe it may not be allowed for reasons but Matthew will say “You can certainly try” and… the craziest and fun stuff happens because of letting the players be creative
The new guy is Robbie Daymond, another voice actor and friend of theirs. He was invited by Liam to the game. He joined Exandria Unlimited, a short 8-episode spinoff game between Campaign 2 and 3 that also features Liam, Ashley, and Matt (as a player!). Robbie, Liam, and Ashley's characters have been carried over to Campaign 3. Robbie is listed as a "Special Guest" and has been in Campaign 3 from the start (11 episodes so far). We Critters are pretty much unanimously in love with him because he fits in so well with the cast and has great chemistry with everyone while being a breath of fresh air. So yeah, IF ROBBIE LEAVES WE RIOT.
Or we could not do that and be nice to the cast who are just trying to have fun with their friends and tell a good story and when Robbie almost certainly leaves we can be sad but understanding about it... You should look the weekly schedule for the week of the 24th in the Critical role page to get exactly when it releases, but last I checked it's 12:00 pacific
It premiers at midnight Pacific Time Friday, January 28th, so just about 12 hours from the time of this post. Matt is still the DM of Campaign 3, so he does all the NPCs. Robbie, the new guy, was in Exandria Unlimited, along with a few other guests and main cast members. ExU was a mini campaign run by Aabria Iyengar, who has her own roleplay stuff, and is a friend of the show. Robbie, Liam and Ashley all brought their characters from ExU into C3. Robbie is a fan favorite, but is still considered a guest on the show. It's not confirmed but it seems the consensus is that they will bring in multiple longer term guest characters over the course of C3, swapping them in and out over time. That would also possibly let some of the main cast be able to take breaks without having to pause the show or drastically change things quickly, like when Laura and Travis had to be out in C2 when they had their kid. If you want something fun to watch, though probably not react to, check out their "series" Narrative Telephone. It's like that game in school where the teacher whispers in one kids ear, then they whisper in the next, etc etc until you get to the last person, then they tell the whole class the story they ended up with. Only instead of the "whisper" being a couple sentences long, they are stories lasting 2-5 minutes, with lots of details, rhyme and alliteration to screw with people doing the retellings. Every episode is a weird roller coaster of fun!
Maybe I'm totally the odd man out, but I would absolutely LOVE to see reactions to Narrative Telephone. It's such beautiful chaos! I keep rewatching them during the week while waiting for the next C3 episode. My favorite is Questions & Quackery. I'd love to see another adventure with the Darrington Brigade, especially Buddy & Mac.
Just sending this out because critical role just sent an email clarifying the premiere time! It is at 12am PST. So midnight on the west coast which makes sense since they are out of L.A.
According to the Jan 17th kickstarter update, episodes will release on Friday, January 28th at 12am Pacific time. And that will be the release schedule for the next 3 weeks as well.
@@CallistoTheWarriorQueen you’re right, was just able to check and they’re already available on the east coast. Who knows when that changed, but I’m not complaining! 🤷🏼♀️
I'd suggest watching a collection of Sam's songs for Campaign 1, since none of them are going to make it into the actual show. They were covers of pop songs that he made up on the spot to relate to the show. Edit: Sorry, I had a suggested video here, but going through it I realized there were a LOT more spoilers than I remember. :\ Does anyone know a compilation of only like the first 30 episodes?
There's no official explanation but, no they don't officially "drink alcohol" on the show. LOL. I mean they do, but you will not see any containers or anything like that stating it's alcohol. They did at first in c1, but as the show became more popular, they made it an active practice to not show any onscreen. Their drinking containers are always opaque with exception of once or twice and they'll joke that they're drinking soda. You will see them filling their cups just off screen or under the table and hear an occasional can opening, but you will not see any alcohol related drinks with the exception of anniversaries they'll have Champaign and even then they won't call it Champaign. There has even been one or two moments where a guest star will bring and mention real world alcohol and you'll see one of the cast whisper to them and they won't bring it up again. It's speculated that it's either a sponsor related thing or a Twitch thing against drinking, but there's no "official" explanation. The characters, on the other hand, do drink often.
Very funny moment in C3 ep11 wuthout giving context for spoilers free scene: the gang was climbing up a rope when Laura started to sing " 1 by 1 they they goes up to reach the top" and Travis ever the comedian continued by singing the next line "2 by 2 they falls" everyone told him to " don't say that!!!" 🤪 one of funniest moments of the episode.
Yeah no, there was a tweet saying it's 12am pacific. Probably the only time it comes in handy being a european critter (at least time zone wise). For me it drops at 9 am. My mom's coming over so we can watch it together (she actually took a day off work for this XD, I'm so glad I infected her with critteritis).
Robbie Daymond is the guy you saw in this he has been in one-shots and in Exandria unlimited which was a short campaign dmed by Aabria Lyengar instead of Matt. Liam, Ashely and Robbies characters in campaign 3 are the same from Exandria unlimited. Matt has said that they were going to through in some new stuff, my guess is that people that have played characters in thier world in guest appearance that want to play will be coming in and out of the game for longer periods of time in certain story arcs.
"Who is that?" That would be Robbie Daymond, the newest member of Critical Role. He joined as a guest for the 8-episode miniseries Exandria Unlimited, between campaigns 2 and 3, but then stayed on for campaign 3 as well. Technically, he's still considered a guest, but after a total of 19 episodes with the crew so far, he's basically one of them (and I think most of us critters have embraced him, because he is absolutely wonderful!). We're all worried that one day he'll just leave, since he's not technically a main cast member, but so far he's sticking around 🙂
In a perfect world this is just the new cast(actually love his addition) But unfortunately chances are things like Robbie in for a long period and Travis out are probably the start of them rotating cast members.
@@CoopHawke Nah, Travis really just wanted his character to show up later in the show like in some Japanese anime's or games he likes, I don't remember, and Matt didn't want him to be away from the table that long (can't blame him with how psycho everyone went with him gone just for the short time he was.) so they compromised with you know who showing up and basically being a PCNPC lol. Robbie is just a guest unless otherwise stated by the cast. A really fun guest, but still a guest.
@@mayaenglish5424 I doubt that with all the talk of them wanting to pass the show to a new generation. And them saying all bets are off with the new campaign and that they're going to try new things. I truly believe the plan was for Travis to not ever have a mainstay character. But for him to have a character like Dorian where he might be there for a long time but the plan is to rotate in new people. I hope that I'm wrong because people are there for them not the brand. Which is why fans went "psycho" because CR either had this plan that is terrible or they are doing a very weird job with PR.
@@CoopHawke I think it's a weird job with PR lol, remember that was before the campaign came out, I think, so maybe they were worried about people being mad about Robbie sticking around for so long instead? They had no way of knowing people would love him so much especially with how EXU was received (Justifiably so, the plot was a train wreck, a fun one, the characters were great, but still). Who knows? That and the monthly break where they're going to be doing new stories, which is a huge deal. I think they saw that people were panicking, tried to make it better, and then made it worse, honestly lol.
@@mayaenglish5424 I honestly think the worst choice they ever made was telling people their plan to transition out of being the main cast. Even if they don't do it for 10+ years people will now always assume new people are their to replace them. Like if they ever start a 2nd crew they'll get so much hate like they're step parents trying to replace mom or dad. Where as if they just started a 2nd crew without saying that fans would treat them as an addition to the family.
According to the Critical Role email newsletter that I just received, the show premieres at midnight Pacific Time. So, I believe that's 3 am for Eastern Time.
That guy you didnt know is Robbie Daymond. In between campaign 2 and 3 they did a mini campaign called Exandria Unlimited with a bunch of guest players where someone else DM'ed and Matt was a player. Robbie was one of these players and ended up being part of campaign 3, he's barely in the intro so it's possible hes like an extended guest character but he's been in 11 episodes so far which is far longer than any other guest so maybe he's a semi-permanent member? Other people who played in Exandria unlimited are: Aabria Iyengar - She was the DM Robbie Daymond - He plays a character named Dorian Storm who ended up being part of campaign 3 Aimee Carerro Anjali Bhimani Matt Liam Ashley
Also, they rarely drink alcohol during the stream. Sometimes they do (they had mimosas during one one-shot) but rarely will there be real alcohol on the set.
If you are going to start the live plays, I would reccomend starting with ExU (an Extended prolouge for Liam, Ashley and Robbie's C3 Characters, Featuring Matt as a player and a different DM running the show.) Then, Start Campaign 3. That way it feels more like a Same World, Different Continent, 40 years later story, (which it is.) 2 of the Characters of C3 are from Tal'Dorei (setting of campaign 1, Marisha's Character left Whitestone during the events of Episode 9 of Legend of Vox Machina, and Liam's character works for the Ashari Druids) with 1 character from Wildemount (setting of Campaign 2) 4 Characters from Marquet (Robbie Daymond's Character, Laura's Character, Sam's Character, and Taliesin's Character) and one Character partially from Tal'Dorei and also the FeyWilde. (Ashley's Character.) If you want to start Campaign 2, instead, since it is finished, Then, I'd reccomend the VM vs. Mighty Nein one-shot as your jumping on point, and then C2 Episode 1. Campaign 1 will contain massive spoilers for LoVM, C2 is relatively disconnected, but C3 references without spoiling. That's kind of the Magic of a living D&D Campaign setting.
I think you might need to watch a full episode or two of the stream (maybe full Vox Machnia episodes back to back for something in the Briarwood arc so you don't get spoiled for anything upcoming.) Don't react to it, because sometimes when you're talking while you're reacting, you miss stuff, just watch the full episode. It'll have things like "Is it Thursday yet?" and "how do you want to do this?" (if you watch combat) so you'll see these things in context.
New guy is Robbie Draymond. He is a "special guest" for Campaign 3. His character originated on Exandria Unlimited. He fits in so well with the main cast. Hopefully he stays
I don't believe that they drink as much anymore as they are running a company and doing acting, voice action, production for other shows, and raising families.
Are you planning on actually watching the show, not the animated, the actual show? If you want to but are not sure you have the time they also have every episode in podcast form so you can listen to them instead. Just an FYI
@ViewMasters Reactions IMPORTANT: Since you will be watching and reacting to Campaign 2, do NOT watch and react to the Ads from Campaign 2. They're half the fun of the episodes and I think it would be more enjoyable to watch you react to them at the beginning of the episode which they aired. However, I would react to Campaign 1 Ads since you won't be getting to Campaign 1 for a long while and there are recurring characters and jokes that Sam uses in the Ads that you won't get if you don't watch them.

The reason people are saying 7 Thusday (Pacific time I assume) is because that's when they air new Critical Role episodes
It should be 12AM pacific time Friday morning!
The "other person" is Robbie, he joined CR for the EXU mini series which turned out lead into C3.
Sam's ad bits are glorious
I think the bit by Sam is actually popcorn
That guy you didnt know is Robbie Daymond. In between campaign 2 and 3 they did a mini campaign called Exandria Unlimited with a bunch of guest players where someone else DM'ed and Matt was a player. Robbie was one of these players and ended up being part of campaign 3, he's barely in the intro so it's possible hes like an extended guest character but he's been in 11 episodes so far which is far longer than any other guest so maybe he's a semi-permanent member?
Other people who played in Exandria unlimited are:
Aabria Iyengar - She was the DM
Robbie Daymond - He plays a character named Dorian Storm who ended up being part of campaign 3
Aimee Carerro
Anjali Bhimani
Matt
Liam
Ashley
Also, they rarely drink alcohol during the stream. Sometimes they do (they had mimosas during one one-shot) but rarely will there be real alcohol on the set.
"They incorporate so much drinking into it""
All those mugs are clearly filled with water. I think you just have a problem.
So there's a simple rule when it comes to Sam's Ad reads... do not be drinking anything..
If you are going to start the live plays, I would reccomend starting with ExU (an Extended prolouge for Liam, Ashley and Robbie's C3 Characters, Featuring Matt as a player and a different DM running the show.) Then, Start Campaign 3. That way it feels more like a Same World, Different Continent, 40 years later story, (which it is.)
2 of the Characters of C3 are from Tal'Dorei (setting of campaign 1, Marisha's Character left Whitestone during the events of Episode 9 of Legend of Vox Machina, and Liam's character works for the Ashari Druids) with 1 character from Wildemount (setting of Campaign 2) 4 Characters from Marquet (Robbie Daymond's Character, Laura's Character, Sam's Character, and Taliesin's Character) and one Character partially from Tal'Dorei and also the FeyWilde.
If you plan on watching C2 in its entirety, maybe wait until Sam's ads pop up organically in the episodes?
You should definitely do the Sam Ad, and I would love to see you react to the reveal for the new set for season 3
other guy is Robbie - Guest star for this campaign
I'm down for some good old fashion Sam ads XD
oh he doesn't know about Sam's flask
TGIF was on ABC in the 90's and early 2000s.
Theres an episode in campaign 2 where the drinking at the game made it super hard to finish the episode. Theyve toned it back since then
They joke about Taliesen being the dad of the group, but Sam older, and I think Liam is the eldest. '76, '77 timeframe.
What are you talking about? Taliesin is an Immortal Eldritch Being!
I don't believe that they drink as much anymore as they are running a company and doing acting, voice action, production for other shows, and raising families.
React to Scanlan's somaybe . They are reeeaally awesome
Dude, dont strain yourself. Get your sleep in, regardless.
Am I the only one that thinks the music doesnt match with the video? I like both, but together they feel off.
